Racing Queensland has advised that the remainder of today’s The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions meeting will be transferred to Aquis Park this Friday evening.
Following the opening three races, the meeting was postponed due to persistent wet weather.
The remaining seven races – including the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas – will be staged at the Gold Coast Turf Club under lights on January 17 and will be broadcast through Channel 7 and Sky Racing.
RQ CEO Jason Scott said the decision to postpone the remainder of the program to Friday evening came following discussions with trainer and jockey representatives, along with the GCTC, Magic Millions and Queensland Racing Integrity Commission stewards.
“The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday is an iconic national event, and will shine brightest on the national stage under lights on Friday,” he said.
“The safety of our animals and participants is paramount, and unfortunately a heavy downpour following the third race has left the track unsuitable for racing.”
The 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale will continue with Book Two going under the hammer on Sunday and Monday.
