A former galloper named Jet Coaster provided Murphy with the most winners of any horse she rode in a race, collecting four victories together in country Victoria in 1996.
The 2009-10 campaign was arguably the best of her career, bringing in 10 victories for the season.
“She was a good kid, there is no doubt about it,” Moncrieff said.
“She rode a few winners for us. She always turned up for trackwork, which a lot of jockeys don’t, but she did.
“She came away on a few trips with us to Townsville and Rockhampton over the years.”
Cameron Partington from the Queensland Racing Industry Support Program said QRISP was assisting Murphy’s family and friends in any way possible following her death.
Racing Queensland extends its condolences to the Murphy family.
