Racing Queensland advises that the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club running rail is due to be replaced in March 2025.
The RQ Clubs team have been in contact with the Contractor on a proposed start date, which is reliant on works being completed at The Q. The proposed start date is Wednesday 5th March 2025, following the race meeting on Tuesday 4th March 2025. Rail replacement works are anticipated to take approximately 4 weeks. The Townsville Greyhound Racing Club will be closed for this period.
During the closure period, Townsville based trainers (north of postcode 4806) will receive a $120 travel subsidy when racing at alternative Queensland venues. RQ will provide further updates once more information becomes available.
Furthermore, updated Townsville programs for February 2025 are available on the RQ website. The QGOLD series will be rescheduled following completion of the running rail works.
