Racing Queensland has advised that meetings will resume in South East Queensland this week following Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
However, meetings across all codes continue to be impacted, with further changes required to the racing calendar.
Updates include:
Thoroughbreds
- Tuesday, March 11 – Eagle Farm (transferred to Eagle Farm on Wednesday, March 12).
- Wednesday, March 12 – Doomben (cancelled*).
- Thursday, March 13 – Ipswich TC (previously replaced Gold Coast at Beaudesert). The track is presently rated heavy and three race distances have now been amended.
*Following the abandonment of Doomben, three additional races have been added to the Eagle Farm program which will now be run as an 11-race card. An additional three races will also be added to the Eagle Farm program on Saturday, March 15, which will also be run as an 11-race card.
Greyhounds
- Tuesday, March 11 – Ipswich (cancelled).
- Wednesday, March 12 – Albion Park expected to proceed.
- Thursday, March 13 – Ipswich* expected to proceed.
*The Ipswich Showgrounds have been designated as a place of refuge by the Ipswich City Council. As a result, the venue is currently unavailable for racing and trialling until further notice. It is possible the venue will become available later, and as such, race fields for Thursday and Friday will be drawn tomorrow. However, race meetings will be abandoned if the Ipswich Showgrounds remains a designated place of refuge.
The Golden Chase heats (Ipswich Auction Series) scheduled for Saturday, March 15, have been postponed until Saturday, March 22. RQ advises programming amendments to feature race dates as follows:
- The Golden Chase (Ipswich Auction Series) 520m
- Heats: Saturday, March 22
- Semi-finals: Saturday, March 29
- Final: Saturday, April 5
- Keith Sternberg Memorial (630m): Saturday, April 5
- Past Members (520m): Saturday, April 5
- Past Members (431m): new fields and box draw
- Heats: Friday, March 28
- Final: Saturday, April 5

Please note, the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club will require significant works to restore the venue back to a state where meetings can proceed. RQ will advise participants when more information becomes available.
