Racing Queensland has developed contingency plans for racing in South East Queensland ahead of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Updates include:

Thoroughbreds

Wednesday’s Sunshine Coast Turf Club meeting has been abandoned.

RQ will consider racing opportunities lost through the meeting’s abandonment as events transpire in the coming days, and the impacts it has on the overall racing program.

Harness

Wednesday's Redcliffe Harness Racing Club meeting has been abandoned.

Further information regarding scheduled harness racing meetings over the coming days will be provided Wednesday morning.

Greyhounds

RQ has cancelled all greyhound meetings at Albion Park until Sunday, March 9 to provide the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club with sufficient time to implement flood mitigation strategies.

RQ will provide further updates tomorrow regarding race meetings scheduled from Thursday, March 6 to Sunday, March 9 with advice to be distributed by early afternoon.

Finally, QRIC has published an industry notice on its website with advice on preparing your animals for the threat of cyclones. Click here to read more.
