Racing Queensland personnel update
Lachlan Murray’s tenure as Racing Queensland’s Acting Chief Executive Officer has been extended.
Earlier today, it was confirmed that Mr Murray will continue to serve in the role up to December 31, 2026. A recruitment process to appoint a permanent CEO will soon commence.
Meanwhile, Graham Quirk has been appointed as the Deputy Chair of the RQ Board for a one-year term.
Mr Quirk was first appointed to the RQ Board in 2019, and has served as the Thoroughbred Code Director for the duration of his tenure.
“Lachlan will continue to lead Racing Queensland as Acting CEO as work now begins to recruit for the role on full-time basis,” RQ Chairman Matthew McGrath said.
“Having served in the role for the last 15 months, Lachlan’s dedication and leadership to the racing industry across the state has been exemplary.
“At the same time, Graham’s appointment as Deputy Chair is richly deserved, and a testament to his long-standing commitment to the industry.
“As the Board’s longest serving member, his guidance and experience continues to be invaluable and I look forward to working with him in this role.”
Earlier this year, the Crisafulli Government announced the appointment of six new members to the RQ Board, led by Matthew McGrath.
