Race 1: TAB Benchmark 75 Handicap – 1600m
 
AKAGE – Slow to begin. Near the 1200m improved onto the heels of BENFICA PRINCESS and had to be steadied and then overraced for some distance thereafter.
 
SACRED DAY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Overraced in the middle stages. Near the 1500m had to be steadied from the heels of KEMSREY. Held up rounding the home turn and leaving the 300m shifted out to improve and bumped BENFICA PRINCESS.
 
DANSEZ – Began awkwardly.
 
FABULONH – Hampered by DANSEZ at the start. Shortly after the start had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of DANSEZ, which shifted in.
 
BENFICA PRINCESS – Shortly after the start had to be checked and lost ground when tightened for room between KARAKABEEL and BALIUS, which was taken in by FABULONH, which in turn was taken in by DANSEZ.  Overraced in the middle stages. Bumped leaving the 300m.
 
BALIUS – Shortly after the start was checked and lost ground when tightened for room between BENFICA PRINCESS and FABULONH, which was taken in by DANSEZ. Raced wide throughout.
 
KEMSREY – Near the 1500m had to be steadied from the heels of FABULONH, which laid in and away from DANSEZ. Inconvenienced near the 600m.
 
AMERICAN DIVA – Overraced in the middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
MYMMING – Raced wide throughout.
 
OUR MANTRA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Jockey M. Du Plessis (DANSEZ) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that shortly after the start he permitted DANSEZ to shift in when insufficiently clear thereby crowding FABULONH inwards, resulting in BALIUS and BENFICA PRINCESS being crowded and having to be checked. Jockey Du Plessis’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of eleven (11) days to commence midnight 26 May 2019 and expire midnight 6 June 2019.
 
 
Race 2: Australian Racing Hall Of Fame Benchmark 75 Handicap – 2000m
 
URBAN RULER – Trainer C. Munce advised the horse would be ridden more forward today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. When caught wide without cover in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to settle outside the leader near the 1500m.
 
BENICO’S PRINCE – Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly.
 
ZA ZA GABOR – Slow to begin.
 
DUCHESS OF LENNOX – Hampered at the start. Upon straightening was obliged to shift out across the heels of TUNERO to secure clear running.
 
FIGHTING TEO – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a GOOD 4.
 
 
Race 3: City Property Services Bill Carter Stakes (Listed) – 1200m
 
MISS CAVALLO – Began awkwardly.
 
CLAIRVUE MISSY – Began awkwardly.
 
CALIFORNIA ZIMBOL – Began awkwardly. Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
PETITE PROMISE – Began awkwardly, tightened for room and had to be checked.
 
NIEDORP – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
LADY BRAHMOS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CABALO ESCURO – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground. Near the 1000m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of STAGE PLAY. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
GEM OF SCOTLAND – Near the 1000m momentarily steadied from the heels of CALIFORNIA ZIMBOL. Raced wide throughout.
 
STAGE PLAY – Raced wide throughout and near the 800m was obliged to race in restricted room to the inside of CALIFORNIA ZIMBOL.
 
PERUDO – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Bumped near the 150m.
 
EURO BELLE – Bumped by LADY BRAHMOS rounding the home turn and forced wider. Raced wide throughout.
 
WRITTEN WITH EASE – Bumped near the 150m.
 
EPAUMADA – Approaching the 100m was eased from the heels of WRITTEN WITH EASE.
Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BOOMSTRESS – Raced wide throughout.
 
TAKE TEA – Jockey D. Griffin reported the filly felt short in its action. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 4: JRA 3YO Plate – 1200m
 
The start was delayed when RONSTAR shifted a near fore plate and had to be replated behind the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
RONSTAR - Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped JAMI LADY.
 
JAMI LADY – Bumped at the start.
 
SPIRIT’S PRIDE – Began awkwardly.
 
PLAGUE STONE – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
CHAMPAGNE DAISY – Attempted to buck in the early stages of the event. Trainer D. Vandyke was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners.
 
ZOUSTYLE – Near the 800m became awkward for a short distance when being restrained.
 
SHEEZALLMINE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 5: Qld Chinese Jockey Club Bright Shadow Quality (Listed) – 1200m

WARRANTY – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
RIVER RACER – Near the 1000m restrained when awkwardly placed to the inside of EPIDEMIC, which shifted in.
 
ALL THAT IS – Near the 200m had to be steadied away from the heels of RIVER RACER.
 
TEST THE WORLD – Held up rounding the home turn and passing the 300m was obliged to shift out across the heels of MISS QUE to secure clear running.
 
INDECISION – Leaving the 300m inconvenienced by TEST THE WORLD, which shifted out. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying the thumps.
 
 
Race 6: IPG Marketing Solutions Chief De Beers (Listed) – 1110m
 
VOLKOFF – Slow to begin and was bumped shortly after.
 
KEEN ARRAY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PROMPT RETURN – Overraced in the early and middle stages and raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
IN GOOD TIME – Passing the 200m was held up when disappointed for a run between WHYPEEO and STRATURBO. Approaching the 100m attempted to improve to the outside of STRATURBO and was again disappointed for a run when ISAURIAN improved to its outside. As a consequence obliged to shift back to the inside of STRATURBO to secure clear running over the final 100m.
 
MEET MR TAYLOR – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
SONY LEGEND – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
WHYPEEO – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying the thumps.
 
 
Race 7: Bernborough Ascot BRC Sprint (Group 3) – 1350m
 
VIOLATE – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight until a point leaving the 200m. Held up again passing the 100m and when attempting to obtain a run to the outside of I’M A RIPPA bumped PASSAGE OF TIME.
 
NICCANOVA – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Held up again from the 200m to the 50m.
 
CHAPTER AND VERSE – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight until a point near the 250m.
 
SHOGUN SUN – Held up rounding the home turn. Held up again between the 300m and 200m.
 
BOOMSARA – Near the 200m was severely checked and lost ground when tightened for room. Following which the gelding was eased down. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
FREDDIE FOX TROT – Overraced in the early stages. Severely checked and lost ground when tightened for room near the 200m.
 
BERGERAC – Slow to begin. Near the 200m shifted in making heavy contact with FREDDIE FOX TROT. Raced wide throughout.
 
EVER LOYAL – Near the 250m had to be steadied when tightened for room between BERGERAC and TYZONE, which shifted in. Jockey B. Shinn (TYZONE) was reprimanded.
 
COLDSTONE – Near the 100m was eased when placed in restricted room.
 
PASSAGE OF TIME – Leaving the 100m was bumped by VIOLATE.
 
TYZONE – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Jockey K. McEvoy (ADDICTIVE NATURE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 200m shifted out when insufficiently clear of BOOMSARA, thereby contributing to the interference suffered by that horse.  Jockey McEvoy’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days to commence midnight 25 May 2019 and expire midnight 1 June 2019. In determining penalty Stewards were mindful of the contributory nature of the interference.
 
App M. Murphy (BERGERAC) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 200m he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent BERGERAC from shifting in, thereby contributing to the interference suffered by FREDDIE FOX TROT. App Murphy’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of six (6) days to commence midnight 18 May 2019 and expire midnight 24 May 2019.  In determining penalty Stewards were mindful of the contributory nature of the interference and the racing manners of the gelding at point.
 
 
Race 8: Hardy Brothers Jewellers Doomben Cup (Group 1) – 2000m
 
FIERCE IMPACT – Slow to begin.
 
PRIORITISE – Slow to begin. When caught wide early was allowed to stride forward to settle outside the leader near the 1400m.
 
SIXTIES GROOVE – Near the 1700m had to be steadied when tightened for room between SHILLELAGH and SAVVY COUP, which shifted in. At a subsequent inquiry Stewards could not be satisfied that the carelessness from any rider caused the interference and therefore took no action.
 
RED ALTO – Near the 1700m had to be eased when awkwardly placed at the heels of GEM SONG, which shifted in.
 
BIG DUKE – Near the 1700m improved onto heels and had to be steadied. Held up from the 300m to the 200m and again over the final 100m. Approaching the winning post bumped MISTER SEA WOLF.
 
ON THE ROCKS – Near the 1600m was checked when tightened for room by RED ALTO, which shifted in and away from SAVVY COUP, which in turn shifted in and away from PRIORITISE. At a subsequent inquiry Stewards could not be satisfied that the carelessness from any rider caused the interference and therefore took no action. Leaving the 300m had to be steadied from the heels of SAVVY COUP, which suffered interference.
 
MISTER SEA WOLF – Near the 1600m improved onto heels and had to be checked. Passing the 700m had to be steadied from heels. Leaving the 200m was disappointed for a run to the inside of RED ALTO and was then held up until the 100m. Bumped approaching the winning post.
 
LIFE LESS ORDINARY – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SAVVY COUP – Leaving the 300m was checked when tightened for room between RED ALTO and KENEDNA, which shifted in.
 
Jockey J. Allen (KENEDNA) was found  guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 300m shifted in when insufficiently clear of SAVVY COUP which had to be checked and lost ground. Jockey Allen’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of thirteen (13) days to commence midnight 21 May 2019 and expire midnight 3 June 2019. 
 
 
Race 9: Magic Millions The Roses (Group 2) – 2000m
 
ROCKNAVAR – Trainer M.J. Dunn advised the horse would be ridden more forward today if circumstances permit. The horse settled midfield. Near the 200m eased away from the heels of ALIFEROUS, which shifted out. Jockey J. Collett (ALIFEROUS) will be advised to exercise more care.
 
WELSH LEGEND – Bumped at the start. Bumped again a short distance later. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
ON THE WHITE TURF – Bumped at the start.
 
DAWSON DIVA – Bumped at the start.
 
LIGHT UP THE ROOM – Bumped at the start.
 
RE EDIT – Near the 1800m checked when tightened for room by WELSH LEGEND, which was taken in by WINNING WAYS. Held up rounding the home turn. Held up again passing the 200m.
 
BELLE ROC – Approaching the 1600m eased when placed in restricted room to the inside of ON THE WHITE TURF, which was taken in by CEOL NA MARA. Jockey S. Cormack (CEOL NA MARA) was reprimanded.
 
ALIFEROUS – Held up rounding the home turn and early stages of the home straight until a point near the 200m and was obliged to shift out across the heels of multiply runners to secure clear running.
 
WINNING WAYS – Near the 400m eased when placed in restricted room.
 
ROSENDAHL RED – Momentarily held up upon straightening.
 
PINMEDOWN – Held up passing the 200m .
 
Jockey M. McGillivray (WINNING WAYS) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 1800m shifted in when insufficiently clear of WELSH LEGEND, which was taken in crowding RE EDIT, which had to be checked. Jockey McGillivray’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence midnight 26 May 2019 and expire midnight 4 June 2019.
