Last year, Stefi Magnetica and Broadsiding announced themselves as future superstars, while the mighty mare Bella Nipotina dominated the winter on her way to claiming The Everest.
The Winter Carnival kicks off with two bumper Group 2 races – the Queensland Guineas and the Victory Stakes – which will set the scene for an epic 10 weeks of racing.
The Guineas honour roll in recent years has proven a fantastic form reference leading into the Carnival, headlined by Epsom champion Private Eye and 2023 Queensland Derby winner Kovalica.
The Victory marks the start of the BRC’s famous sprint series and has an equally impressive list of winners, including local champion Antino, who catapulted off his winter success to claim Group 1 glory on the biggest stage in the spring.
