THE QUEENSLAND RACING CARNIVAL IS WHERE CHAMPIONS EMERGE

Last year, Stefi Magnetica and Broadsiding announced themselves as future superstars, while the mighty mare Bella Nipotina dominated the winter on her way to claiming The Everest. 

The Queensland Racing Carnival heads to Doomben for the first Group 1 of the programme, with the Doomben 10,000 again running for $1.5 million as the first of a trilogy of million-dollar sprints on offer. 

Last year, Bella Nipotina claimed the race in dramatic fashion, using it as a platform for further Group 1 glory before going on to take out the world’s richest race on turf in the spring.  

Elsewhere on the card, the Group 3 Rough Habit Plate will set the scene for the Group 1 Queensland Derby a fortnight later, while the juveniles will be looking to make their mark in the Group 2 Spirit Of Boom ahead of the JJ Atkins later in the carnival.
