The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

TIJUANA TEMPO was best to begin. In the front straight on the first occasion KINDA AMAZING and MAGIC SPARKLE bumped over a considerable distance resulting in both greyhounds being hampered. Rounding the turn out of the front straight CREDIT ENTRY shifted out and made contact with KINDA AMAZING causing both greyhounds to be checked, ALL BECAUSE was hampered as a result of this incident.
TUAVASA SHEK, TRAV’S MAGIC and LORIAN ADITI were best to begin. COLD HARD TRUTH was slow out. TORQUE FLIGHT and COLD HARD TRUTH raced wide over the early stages of the race. TORQUE FLIGHT tired over the concluding stages of the race.
The greyhound TORQUE FLIGHT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Mr. A Kennewell explained that TORQUE FLIGHT normally begins very well and leads in its event however, after not beginning on the best terms with the remainder of the field he worked very hard in the early stages in an endeavor to take up a forward position which in his view took its toll on the greyhound over the concluding stages. Mr. Kennewell’s explanation was noted.
Race 3 – 5th
Grade 520m
BRAE GIFT and SPANISH QUEEN were best to begin. EYES ON ME slipped and blundered shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Shortly after the start IMA COWBOY shifted out which hampered WHIRLY WAY. Approaching the turn out of the front straight EYES ON ME was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. OREO DELIGHT shifted out in the back straight which resulted in BRAGA MCCOY and EYES ON ME being hampered.
Race 4 – 4/5th
Grade 520m
Even start. Shortly after the start
SLAYER RETURN shifted out which resulted in EL CHAD, HEAD SHY and ANTI DENTITE all
being checked to varying degrees.
Leaving the front straight EL CHAD was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Entering the
back straight EL CHAD was again tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Leaving the front straight HEAD
SHY and GRIM CREEPER bumped causing both greyhounds to be momentarily
hampered. Rounding the turn into the
front straight SLAYER RETURN and SHYAN YAHOO bumped. CERVELO commenced to give ground leaving the
front straight.
The greyhound CERVELO was vetted and found to
have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 21
days.
Race 5 – 4/5th
Grade 600m
Even start. Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion APATITE was tightened for racing room, severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the race. ELUSIVE DESIRE was checked as a result of this incident. ALPHA THESEUS raced wide over various stages of the event. Approaching the turn into the back straight COBBER IN MOTION was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
The greyhound APATITE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 6 – 3/4th
Grade 520m
LEEROY ROLLER was best to begin. Shortly after the start DON’T GO QUIETLY shifted in which tightened the racing room of IONA CHAMPION, WAIKARIE MAGIC, WAR PICTURE and MADE THAT WAYresulting in all greyhounds being check to varying degrees. Approaching the turn out of the front straight WAIKARIE MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight MADE THAT WAY and DON’T GO QUIETLY were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the back straight WAR PICTURE made contact with the hindquarters of WAIKARIE MAGIC causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.
Race 7 – Queensland Cup Final 600m
SMASHNIAK GOLD was best to begin. Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion VELOCITY SHIRL shifted in which resulted in PARCHMENT, CYNDIE’S MAGIC, GOLFING AMY, MARLUCA and NORM THE STORM all being tightened for racing room, checked to varying degrees and losing ground. DARCY’S CURSE was hampered as a result of this incident. Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion GOLFING AMY and MARLUCA bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered. Rounding the turn out of the front straight MARLUCA made heavy contact with the hindquarters of DARCY’S CURSE causing that greyhound to be checked and losing ground.
Race 8 – Best 8 520m
VEUVE was best to begin. Leaving the front straight BUTCHULLA BOY made contact with the hindquarters of CASH IN MOTION causing that greyhound to be severely checked and lose ground. YOUI was hampered as a result of this incident. HOPE’S MAGIC gave ground over the concluding stages.
The greyhound HOPE’S MAGIC was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Mr. W Elson explained that the greyhound was able to lead the event which is its usual racing pattern however, he conceded the greyhound gave ground over the concluding stages. He was of the view that the soft track conditions due to showers throughout the night had some impact on the greyhound’s performance. Mr. Elson stated that he was confident going into the event and had supported the greyhound. Stewards noted his explanation.
The greyhound CASH IN MOTION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m
BOOTY BEACH and MAGOO were best to begin. MITCHARLIE MIA blundered shortly after the start and lost ground. CARDIAC KING was checked as a result of this incident. Rounding the turn into the front straight BOOTY BEACH eased, shifted out and made contact with MAGOO, causing that greyhound to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.
The greyhound BOOTY BEACH was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. S Scott that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m
Even start. KIDATEE DAN and FABRICATED were slow to begin. Shortly after the start BRALYN BAUPLE shifted in tightening the racing room of LORRY DRYVA, RATATAT, SHOW BOUND and HAY YOU BOY resulting in all greyhounds being tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. SHOW BOUND contacted the running rail as a result of this incident.
The greyhound SHOW BOUND was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
