MAGIC SPARKLE was best to begin.  NATURAL LAD was tightened for racing room shortly after the start, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the front straight WHERE’S CODY contacted the heels of ON THE CLOCK causing that greyhound to be hampered.  Rounding the home turn WHERE’S CODY shifted out and bumped ON THE CLOCK, causing both greyhounds to be momentarily hampered.

The greyhound ON THE CLOCK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer Mr. D Russell explained that the greyhound races best when racing in a forward position and after receiving a check on the 1st turn and again going into the back straight he was of the view that this directly affected the overall performance of ON THE CLOCK.  He stated that he supported the greyhound in today’s event and was expecting a forward showing.  Mr. Russell undertook that if anything was to become amiss with the greyhound in the upcoming days he would be informing Racing Queensland.
