1.

BRISBANE CUP FRIDAY NIGHT DEC 9 MAIDEN HEAT 1 331M

The race was delayed due to the boxing manners of SPIFFY.

 

AVENUE HERO was marginally slow to begin.  At the start ENDLESS ROAD turned its head outward and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment while shifting out across the field.  SPIFFY, PACIFIC MOON, HAIGHT ASHBURY and NEDGO PRINCESS which were racing to its outside were all checked as a result.  In the back straight HAIGHT ASHBURY was tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the turn out of the back straight RESURRECTION BOY was tightened for room and checked.  NEDGO PRINCESS which was trailing was checked as a result.

 

Stewards questioned trainer Mr. J Ogden with the regards to the boxing manners of SPIFFY.  After discussions with Mr. Ogden stewards elected against placing the greyhound SPIFFY as ‘hard to box’. Stewards advised Mr. Ogden that the greyhound would be monitored in its future events.

 

The greyhound ENDLESS ROAD underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. D Gilroy that the greyhound would be stood down persuant Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 331m all tracks.

ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 2 331M

NEDGO LOGAN, UP THE HEAT and QUICK AND LIVELY were marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start UP THE HEAT was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Entering the back straight ROAD CAM was tightened for room and checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight NEDGO LOGAN was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight MARITANA and SNOW GIRL collided resulting in both runners to be checked and raced wide around the turn and into the front straight. Rounding the turn into the front straight UP THE HEAT and ROAD CAM collided on a number of occasions resulting in both runners to be checked.  In the front straight ROAD CAM was tightened for room and checked. MARITANA and SNOW GIRL were wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound ROAD CAM underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN HEAT 3 331M

WHITE EAGLE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SHAKEY RANDLE and STAR RISE were tightened for room and checked.  Entering the back straight HARA’S HOTSTUFF, SHOW CASE GIRL, NEDGO NAVY and HOSTESS WATKINS were all tightened for room and checked.  SHAKEY RANDLE which was trailing was checked as a result.  NEDGO NAVY and SHAKEY RANDLE collided on a number of occasions in the back straight and were checked as a consequence.  Entering the turn out of the back straight MARITANA was tightened for room, shifted inwards and made contact with the running rail resulting in that runner to be checked.  Shortly after MAYFEATHER shifted outwards and collided with QUICK AND LIVELY resulting in both runners to race wide around the turn and to be hampered as a result.  UP THE HEAT which was trailing was checked and forced wide around the turn as a result.

 

The greyhound HARA’S HOTSTUFF underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

GLEN GALLON @ STUD MAIDNE FINAL 331M

GOLD SHEEN and MAMA NATURE SAID were best to begin.  DIAMOND JAKEY was marginally slow to begin.  RATTLESNAKE CAFE was slow to begin.  In the back straight CASEY MINI ME and GOLD SHERONA collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight CASEY MINI ME was tightened for room, made contact with the running rail and was checked as a result.  Shortly after SALLY FITZ was tightened for room and hampered.  DIAMOND JAKEY raced green around the turn and into the front straight.  RATTLESNAKE CAFE was wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound CASEY MINI ME underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

The start of the event was delayed due to an international thoroughbred race.

 

NEDGO HEATHER and HUBCAP WILLY were marginally slow to begin.  Entering the back straight MOOKA and SPORTS GAIRNS were tightened for room and checked.  NEDGO HEATHER which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Entering the turn out of the back straight GALLANT EXPLORER was tightened for room, shifted inwards and made contact with the running rail resulting in that runner to be momentarily hampered.  In the front straight MOOKA and AUSSIE ORACLE collided resulting in both runners to be checked.

 

The greyhound GALLANT EXPLORER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SPORTS GAIRN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  At the start SILENT SONNY and MR. WOODS were tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after the start TRISHA NOLAN was tightened for room and checked.  In the back straight SILENT SONNY improved onto the heels of LITTLE RAMONA resulting in both runners to be checked.  TRISHA NOLAN and MR. WOODS which were racing to their outside were checked as a result.  Entering the turn out of the back straight BLACK STEEL was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight LITTLE RAMONA and MR. WOODS collided resulting in both runners to be checked.

 

The greyhound SILENT SONNY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

BRISGREYS.COM 5th GRADE 331M

JIGGLE SPLAT was best to begin.  Shortly after the start THROTTLE ON was tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the back straight GRAND ROSIE was tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after TOLL EVASION was tightened for room and checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight WISSUTA RULES and GRAND ROSIE collided resulting in GRAND ROSIE to be checked.  Shortly after TOLL EVASION was tightened for room and hampered.  WISSUTA RULES, RIP VAN WINKLE and THROTTLE ON which were trailing were forced wider round the turn as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight BEST STRATEGY shifted outwards and collided with TOLL EVASION resulting in both runners to be checked.  THROTTLE ON which was trailing was checked and forced wider into the straight as a result.  TOLL EVASION, BEST STRATEGY and THROTTLE ON were all wide in the front straight.

SKY RACING 5th GRADE 331M

SHE’S CRANKING was best to begin.  JAGGED IMAGE and CHOPPER NORRIS were marginally slow to begin.  In the back straight IONA MACHINE was tightened for room and checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight SECRET SHAY ANNA was tightened for room, severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the event.  SPRING CRUSHER and TEARAWAY MISSILE which were trailing were checked as a consequence.  Shortly after CHOPPER NORRIS checked outwards across the heels of JAGGED IMAGE and raced wide around the turn as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SPRING CRUSHER and TEARAWAY MISSILE collided on a number of occasions resulting in both runners to be severely checked.

 

The greyhound SECRET SHAY ANNA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound TEARAWAY MISSILE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

SPLENDID STAR was best to begin.  OMEGA CLOVER, LAURYN’S BEST and DON’T GO QUIETLY were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn OMEGA CLOVER was tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the turn out of the back straight FABULOUS HOPE was tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after OMEGA CLOVER checked outwards across the heels of DON’T GO QUIETLY resulting in both runners to be severely checked.

 

The greyhound OMEGA CLOVER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

MANLY HOTEL 5th GRADE 395M

Even start with the exception of INDY’S CHANT which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ZAFONIC DANCER and BEETOWN TOMMY were tightened for room and checked.  Entering the 1st turn MANYARA MISS, COSMO WAZ, ANOTHER RED and PASSIVE PROTEST were all tightened for room and checked.  ZAFONIC DANCER and BEETOWN TOMMY were wide in the back straight.  Entering the turn out of the back straight ANOTHER RED collided with ZAFONIC DANCER resulting in that runner to be checked and forced wide around the turn.  BEETOWN TOMMY was wide around the turn and the front straight.  ZAFONIC DANCER was also wide in the front straight.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5th GRADE 395M

Even start with the exception of HARA’S HAWK which was slow to begin.  At the start KIKEM SPRINGER was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Entering the 1st turn IMA TALENT was tightened for room and checked.  KIKEM SPRINGER which was trailing was severely checked as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight JOHN SAID THIS and RUN KAY RUN were tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after IMA TALENT and HARA’S HAWK collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight ELLY’S REIGN shifted outwards across the heels of MOORE REVENGE.  JOHN SAID THIS and RUN KAY RUN which were trailing were forced wide around the turn as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight FABULOUS WAZ and MOORE REVENGE bumped resulting in FABULOUS WAZ to be hampered.  In the front straight JOHN SAID THIS was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound KIKEM SPRINGER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MASTERS 395M

MATT’S COURAGE and NOT WORTH IT were marginally slow to begin and ROYAL ALBERT was slow to begin.  Entering the 1st turn MISS RUCKUS and SMASHNIAK CLASS were tightened for room and checked.  MATT’S COURAGE and NOT WORTH IT which were trailing were hampered as a result.  Entering the back straight ROYAL ALBERT appeared to suffer an injury, finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field and take no further competitive part in the event.  Entering the turn out of the back straight SILKY OAK shifted outwards and raced wide around the turn.

 

The greyhound ROYAL ALBERT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.
