RACE REPORTS

 

1.

BRISBANE CUP FRIDAY NIGHT DEC 9 MAIDEN 331M

Even start with the exception of GALWAY ROSELLA which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MONLOR RON and AFTER GLOW collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  SOON YOU CAN was slow to muster speed in the early stages of the race.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight PRINCESS IVY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SOON YOU CAN raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.  In the front straight GALWAY ROSELLA retired from the race and failed to finish.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Galloway that the greyhound GALWAY ROSELLA would  be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 331m all tracks.

ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 1 331M

OUTBACK STORM, SHAKEY TANGO and PINK SUNSET were best to begin.  Entering the back straight SHAKEY RANDLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight FORGOTTEN ALOTA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after EMBER FLARE and DEMOLISHMENT collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight EMBER FLARE checked across the heels of PINK SUNSET and was momentarily hampered.  Shortly after EMBER FLARE shifted out resulting in DEMOLISHMENT which was trailing making heavy contact with the hindquarters of EMBER FLARE resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  FORGOTTEN ALOTA which was trailing was checked as a consequence.

 

The greyhound EMBER FLARE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN HEAT 2 331M

ARBROATH SMOKIE and INSIDE RACING were best to begin.  OUTBACK DANCER and CASEY MINI ME were marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start LOOKING FINE, BAJA and COSMIC REX were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after KULU PYSCHO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight KULU PYSCHO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight and into the turn into the front straight ARBROATH SMOKIE raced wide.  Rounding the turn into the front straight COSMIC REX raced wide.  COSMIC REX and LOOKING FINE raced wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound KULU PYSCHO underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer’s representative Ms. K Gooding stated that the greyhound has trailed well on two occasions here at Albion Park prior to the race, which in her view contributed to the greyhound’s starting at $2.30 fixed price Ubet.  She stated that have had high expectations of the greyhound in the race however, after receiving interference both shortly after the start and in the back straight she contributed to its overall finishing position.  Stewards were not entirely satisfied with the greyhound’s performance in today’s event, however were prepared to give it the benefit of some doubt. Ms. Gooding was informed that if there was to be repetition of tonight’s performance it would lead to some action being taken the greyhound.

GLEN GALLON @ STUD MAIDEN FINAL 331M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn WHITE EAGLE, OLD MOON MADNESS, JOHNNY THE FOX, COURSE YOU WILL, UP THE HEAT and MAYFEATHER were all tightened for racing room and checked to varying degrees.  Leaving the back straight WHITE EAGLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight SHOW CASE GIRL raced wide.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE NOVICE 331M

AUSSIE ORACLE was best to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight HUBCAP WILLY, BLOZA and MY FIRST PATCH raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground with BLOZA losing considerable ground.  SCORCHING CORNER which was trailing was checked as a result of this incident and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of STEP BACK LASS which was slow to begin.  Through the first turn JIGGLE SPLAT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight JIGGLE SPLAT and ON TIGHT LINES collided.  Leaving the back straight JAGGED IMAGE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight JIGGLE SPLAT and ON TIGHT LINES bumped over a considerable distance.

BRISGREYS.COM 5th GRADE 331M

Even start.  Entering the back straight STORMAGEDDON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after MARG’S MEMORY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight CHOPPER NORRIS was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with STORMAGEDDON which in turn then shifted out and collided with SECRET SHAY ANNA, resulting in SECRET SHAY ANNA being severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the race.  MARG’S MEMORY which was trailing was checked and lost ground as a consequence.

 

The greyhound SECRET SHAY ANNA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SULZANTI @ STUD 4/5th GRADE 395M

Even start.  Rounding the turn into the back straight ROMEO RAGTOP was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight DAYSEAS ASTRA and ROMEO RAGTOP raced wide.  BEETOWN TOMMY raced wide entering the front straight and into the front straight.

Even start with the exception of KIKEM SPRINGER which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn VIKING BUDDY, WESTERN HONEY, SPRING CRUSHER and POWER OF PENNY were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

10.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5th GRADE 395M

Even start with the exception of NO NONSENSE which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the first turn SIRRAH SIRRAH, MADAM MEDUSA, MANYARA MISS and MOORE REVENGE were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight SIRRAH SIRRAH and MANYARA MISS collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  MADAM MEDUSA commenced to give ground in the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound MADAM MEDUSA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MASTERS 395M

Even start.  Through the first turn REDDY RANGER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight REDDY RANGER improved onto the hindquarters of SIVAMET resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight SIVAMET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight DAVID’S MEMORY shifted out which momentarily hampered the running of REDDY RANGER.

SKY RACING MASTERS 395M

Even start.  Through the first turn BRALYN LUIGI, GLEBE KID, MISS RUCKUS and PASSIVE PROTEST were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight GLEBE KID was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  MISS RUCKUS which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  STOLE MY HEART and FANCY SCHMANCY collided in the back straight.

 

The greyhound GLEBE KID underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.
