muzzle contact with PAY THE WAY. Stewards advised trainer’s representative Mr. P Cauchi
that the greyhound MILLION DOLLAR would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st
offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. Steward questioned R Keidge the trainer of GUN POWER in
relation to his greyhound’s actions over the latter stages of the race where
the greyhound had collided with PAY THE WAY.
Stewards had concerns with regards to its action where it may have
marred that runner. After considering all the evidence stewards could not be
comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had marred and therefore gave the
ground the benefit of the grave doubt. |

performance of CAPTAIN TIL Ms. Linnan stated that the greyhound didn’t race
up to expectations at Ipswich as its previous start on 26 November 2016 and
elected to race the greyhound back at Albion Park where its performed well in
the past. She stated the greyhound had
previewed tonight and was highly excitable prior to the race which in her
view may have contributed to it not performing up to market expectations
where it started $2.50 favourite on UBet fixed price. She further stated that the greyhound had been
treated for some older injuries which they have managing however it will be
her intention to have its blood test carried out during the upcoming week,
which she will furnish the report to the stewards. Stewards advised trainer Ms. J Linnan
that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance
and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks prior to

Passing the catching pen CAN OF SPRITE and SINGELTON collided. GEORGE GALLON raced wide over various
stages of the race. When questioned over the performance of CAN OF SPRITE
which appeared to be improved on its current race form, trainer M. Brauer
explained that the greyhound was having its 1st start from a short
let up where its previous run was at Albion Park on 31 October 2016. He said that the greyhound had not been
drawn well in its previous starts and with the short let up and the extra
work out of the starting boxes in his view contributed to its performance
tonight. He further stated that the
greyhound in his view has some ability and he was expecting a forward showing
in tonight’s event. Stewards noted his
explanation. |
