RACE REPORTS

1.

XMAS NIGHT HERE TOMORROW MAIDEN HEAT 1 395M

SHOW CASE GIRL, BARBARA BENZ and LORD SIRIUS were all slow to begin.  Shortly after the start LUCKMAN and POSSESSION were tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn STUEY and ROCK ON MOE were tightened for room and checked.  SHOW CASE GIRL, POSSESSION, LUCKMAN, BARBARA BENZ and LORD SIRIUS which were all trailing were checked to varying degrees as a result.  Entering the back straight LUCKMAN and LORD SIRIUS collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight ROCK ON MOE checked out off the heels of PINK SUNSET.  STUEY and BARBARA BENZ which were racing to its outside were checked to varying degrees as a consequence.  Shortly after SHOW CASE GIRL contacted the hindquarters of PINK SUNSET resulting in that runner to be checked and shift outwards.  STUEY which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PINK SUNSET was tightened for room and checked.  STUEY, ROCK ON MOE and LORD SIRIUS which were trailing were checked as a consequence.

 

The greyhound STUEY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side fibula and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 2 395M

JUST FROSTY and PACIFIC MOON were slow to begin.  Through the first turn JUST FROSTY, PRINCESS LIGHT and EMBER FLARE were tightened for room and checked.  PACIFIC MOON which was trailing was checked as a result.  Entering the back straight JUST FROSTY contacted the heels of PACIFIC MOON and was hampered as a result.  Entering the turn out of the back straight JUST FROSTY checked out off the heels of PACIFIC MOON and stumbled as a result.  Shortly after PRINCESS LIGHT and PACIFIC MOON collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PRINCESS LIGHT shifted outwards and collided with PACIFIC MOON resulting in both runners to be checked.

 

The greyhound JUST FROSTY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN FINAL 395M

SLICK GAMBLER and SHAKEY TANGO were best to begin.  CHANEL BENZ was marginally slow to begin.  HARRY’S PLACE was very slow to begin.  Through the turn and into the back straight SLICK GAMBLER, PREMIER TEJAY, INDIANA BENZ and CUTE GAMBLER were tightened for room.  SLICK GAMBLER and PREMIER TEJAY were checked and INDIANA BENZ and CUTE GAMBLER were severely checked as a result of this incident.  Entering the turn out of the back straight COWBOY and PREMIER TEJAY collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  HARRY’S PLACE which was trailing was hampered as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SLICK GAMBLER and COWBOY collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  HARRY’S PLACE was wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound CUTE GAMBLER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound INDIAN BENZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

RATTLESNAKE CAFÉ, AZUL DIABLO and WILD FOX were marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn AZUL DIABLO was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the first turn AZUL DIABLO contacted the heels of STOLE MY HEART resulting in both runners to be checked.  WILD FOX which was racing to their outside was checked as a consequence.  Entering the back straight AZUL DIABLO was tightened for room and checked.  In the back straight STOLE MY HEART and WILD FOX collided and were checked as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight RATTLESNAKE CAFÉ shifted out and collided with DEREK resulting in both runners to be checked.  PANTS PIRATE was wide in the back straight.  AZUL DIABLO and AGRO’S THUNDER were wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound PANTS PIRATE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE 395M

BLOZA was best to begin. COPPER MINER was marginally slow to begin and OUTBACK TREASURE was slow to begin. Through the first turn FOUR TIN LIDS and ZARA MAGIC were tightened for room and checked. Entering the turn out of the back straight FOUR TIN LIDS and ZARA MAGIC collided resulting in both runners to be checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight FOUR TIN LIDS checked outwards across the heels of OUTBACK TREASURE. ZARA MAGIC which was trailing was checked as a result. COPPER MINER raced wide for a majority of the event.

BRISGREYS.COM 3/4th GRADE 395M

BETTA BE QUICK was best to begin.  BLACKWOOD BURST was marginally slow to begin.  MACARENA MISS was slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn MARLO GOOD and FABULOUS WAZ were tightened for room and hampered.  ON TIGHT LINES which was racing to their outside was hampered as a result.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight BLACKWOOD BURST was tightened for room and checked.  MARLO GOOD which was trailing was checked and forced wide into the turn as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight MACARENA MISS shifted outwards and collided with MARLO GOOD resulting in both runners to be checked.  In the front straight HEARD A WHISPER contacted the heels of BETTA BE QUICK resulting in HEARD A WHISPER to fall and take no further competitive part in the event.  MARLO GOOD was wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound HEARD A WHISPER underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING 2/3rd GRADE 395M

Even start with the exception of KIMAHRI RONSO which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start COSMO TRAV was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the first turn all greyhounds with the exception of GOLD TOTAL were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight DISMANTLE shifted outwards and collided with TASER SHOCK resulting in both runners to be checked.

FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK @ BRISGREYS 1/2nd GRADE 395M

Even start.  Approaching the first turn WAZZA KING and PLUM JAM were tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn KATHIE’S FLASH was tightened for room and checked.  HOWARD HENO which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight LONESOME DUK was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight HOWARD HENO checked off the heels of PLUM JAM.  LONESOME DUK and KATHIE’S FLASH were wide in the back straight.  SURE YOU CAN, LONESOME DU and KATHIE’S FLASH were wide in the front straight.

 

Stewards questioned Trainer Ms. Joanne Martin with regards to the boxing manners of LONESOME DUK. Ms. Martin stated that the surrounding thunder storm just prior to the start of the event had affected the greyhounds’ behaviour. She further stated that this was the first time that this greyhound had been difficult to place in the starting boxes. After considering all evidence Stewards were not comfortably satisfied in declaring LONESOME DUK as ‘Hard to Box’ but would be monitoring the greyhounds future performances.
