Stewards Trial 1 – 331m

The greyhound PINK COLLISION performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.79 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

The greyhound BONKNOCKA BEANS performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 18.96 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

Stewards Trial 2 – 395m

The greyhound MIGHTY NIMROD performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.78 and is now cleared all tracks after providing a veterinary certificate prior to nominating.

 

The greyhound MDNIGHTY HAYZE performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.16 and is now cleared all tracks except Bundaberg from a previous offence.

 

RACE REPORTS

1.

GLASSHOUSE GREYHOUND SPORTING CLUB MAIDEN 520M

EMBER FLARE and MASAI QUEEN were best to begin.  MANDELA CLOUD was slow to begin.  At the start MANDELA CLOUD shifted inwards across the heels of PASSION POP and was checked.  Shortly after the start SHAKEY START, SWIFT DUAL and STANKY LEG were tightened for room and checked.  Entering the front straight SWIFT DUAL shifted inwards across the heels of PALLINGTON and was checked.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight MANDELA CLOUD contacted the hindquarters of SHAKEY START resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the 1st turn EMBER FLARE and STANKY LEG collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  SWIFT DUAL which was trailling shifted out wide on the turn as a result.  Shortly after SHAKEY START and PASSION POP collided resulting in both runners to be checked and shift wide around the turn as a result.  Through the 1st turn EMBER FLARE, PALLINGTON and STANKY LEG were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees as a result.  SWIFT DUAL was wide in the back straight.  In the back straight EMBER FLARE and PASSION POP collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight STANKY LEG contacted the hindquarters of MANDELA CLOUD resulting in both runners to be hampered.  SWIFT DUAL raced wide around the turn out of the back straight.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SHAKEY START collided with MANDELA CLOUD resulting in both runners to be checked.

UBET – THE NEW TAB MAIDEN FINAL 520M

WILDASH SEMI and COWGIRL LUCY were best to begin.  SWIFT LEAH was slow to begin.  In the front straight on the 1st occasion LITTLE MISS SHOW shifted inwards and tightened for running of LAZZA MANAZZA resulting in that runner to be checked.  Entering the 1st turn YOU ANGEL YOU contacted the hindquarters or NASH TATO resulting in both runners to be checked and shift wider around the turn as a result.  SWIFT LEAH which was trailling was checked and forced wide around the turn as a result.  Through the 1st turn LAZZA MANAZZA bumped YOU ANGEL YOU resulting in that runner to be hampered.  LITTLE MISS SHOW and SWIFT LEAH which were trailling were hampered as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight LAZZA MANAZZA bumped COWGIRL LUCY resulting in that runner to be checked.  Through the turn into the front straight LITTLE MISS SHOW checked out across the heels of COWGIRL LUCY and collided with SWIFT LEAH resulting in both runners to be checked.

 

The greyhound SWIFT LEAH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE 520M

COURSE YOU WILL was best to begin and MISS SHRAPNEL was very slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ISSUE shifted inwards and collided with WAY OF SHADOWS resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the 1st turn COURSE YOU WILL was tightened for room and checked.

GLEN GALLON @ STUD NOVICE 520M

CAPTAIN LOUIE and SLICK AZZ EL were best to begin.  ZILLIE BEAN was slow to begin.  Through the front straight on the 1st occasion CAPTAIN LOUIE contacted the hindquarters of SLICK AZZ EL resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Entering the 1st turn CAPTAIN LOUIE contacted the hindquarters of SLICK AZZ EL resulting in that runner to be checked and shift wider on the turn as a result.  Shortly after WILD MISS JUDY and SORRENTO bumped resulting in both runners to be checked and shift wide around the turn as a result.  Shortly after ZILLIE BEAN shifted inwards and made contact with the running rail and was hampered as a result.  Entering the turn out of the back straight WILD MISS JUDY contacted the hindquarters of SLICK AZZ EL resulting in both runners to be checked.  SORRENTO which was racing to their outside was checked as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SLICK AZZ EL checked outwards across the heels of SORRENTO and collided with WILD MISS JUDY resulting in both runners to be severely checked as a result.

 

The greyhound WILD MISS JUDY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Licensed trainer Mr. B Hazelgrove advised stewards that even though the greyhound suffered several minor interferences throughout the event that he was still unhappy with its overall performance and would be looking to spell the greyhound for approximately two weeks before returning it to racing.

 

The greyhound SLICK AZZ EL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE 520M

GEMMA BENZ was best to begin.  IMA RUNAWAY and FLASHING FERGO were marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start IMA RUNAWAY and FLASHNG FERGO bumped resulting in both runners to be hampered.  In the front straight NANTUCKET KAHN was tightened for room and hampered.  In the front straight GEMMA BENZ shifted outwards resulting in MO STRADAMUS which was trailing to be checked and shift outwards as a consequence.  VIKING BUDDY which was racing to the outside of MO STRADAMUS was checked as a consequence.  Entering the 1st turn DUSTY’S CHANCE and IMA RUNAWAY collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Through the turn into the front straight NANTUCKET KAHN was tightened for room and made contact with the running rail and was checked as a result.

 

The greyhound NANTUCKET KAHN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

KNOCKER KNOCK and DOLLAR AND CENT were slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn GAB TAR was tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after COSADO SUN contacted the hindquarters of GAB TAR resulting in GAB TAR to be checked and COSADO SUN to be severely checked.  HERO HAYDOS and KNOCKER KNOCK which were trailing were checked and forced wide into the turn as a result.  Through the 1st turn KNOCKER KNOCK improved onto the heels of GAB TAR resulting in both runners to be checked.

 

The greyhound COSADO SUN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING 4/5th GRADE 520M

CASANOVA JOE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SNEAKIN’ OUT, DOWN SIZED UP and SWIFT NIMROD all collided resulting in these runners to be checked.  In the front straight SWIFT NIMROD was tightened for room and checked.  Entering the 1st turn BIWOTT suffered an injury, fell and took no further part in the event.  SNEAKIN’ OUT which was racing to its outside and DUSKY SILK and SWIFT NIMROD which were trailing were severely checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SWIFT NIMROD commenced to give ground and finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound SWIFT NIMROD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

LOVE SHAK was best to begin.  At the start GO LASSIE GO shifted inwards and collided with SILENT SONNY resulting in that runner to be checked.  In the front straight KIKEM STORMY was tightened for room and hampered.  Approaching the 1st turn BLITZ ‘EM bumped OUR CHALLENGE resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Through the 1st turn BLITZ ‘EM collided with KIKEM STORMY resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Entering the turn out of the back straight BLITZ ‘EM was tightened for room and checked.  OUR CHALLENGE which was trailing was checked and forced wide around the turn as a result.

UNIQUE KALEESE, WISH YOU WILL, KIKEM ZEST and NAMROD were all best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn WISH YOU WILL was tightened for room and checked.  Entering the 1st turn NAMROD checked outwards across the heels of ONYA BENZ and collided with NATURAL LAD resulting in both runners to be checked.  SPORTFAN which was trailing was checked and raced wide around the turn as a result.  In the back straight WISH YOU WILL, NAMROD and NATURAL LAD were wide.  NATURAL LAD was wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound SPORTFAN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SHOT CLOCK was best to begin.  FABRICATED, SPLENDID STAR and RIP VAN WINKLE were marginally slow to begin.  Entering the 1st turn KENTUCKY KAHN and CHEVY BLUE BOY were tightened for room and checked.  FABRICATED and SPLENDID STAR which were trialling were checked as a consequence.  Entering the turn out of the back straight RIP VAN WINKLE and SIP OF SHIRAZ collided resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight RIP VAN WINKLE made contact with the running rail, shifted out and collided with SIP OF SHIRAZ resulting in both runners to be checked to varying degrees as a result.
