TRIALS

Stewards Trial 1 – 395m

The greyhound SKIP TO IT performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.84 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

The greyhound NEWS STORY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.69 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

The greyhound WHO DAT GUN performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 23.34 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

GLASSHOUSE GREYHOUND SPORTING CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 1 395M

Even start with the exception of MOMENT TO SHINE which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn SPARK YOU UP was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  
Approaching the turn into the back straight SHAVASANA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight PACIFIC MOON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight SPARK YOU UP, CANUTE’S LAW, DRUID PRINCE and PACIFIC MOON were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PREMIER FRED and MOMENT TO SHINE collided on a number of occasions.  PACIFIC MOON gave ground over the latter stages of the race.

 

The greyhound PACIFIC MOON underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 2 395M

Even start.  Shortly after the start MEMPHIS became awkward and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn BLUE DOT, EBONNIE and INTROVERT all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  MEMPHIS which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight MEMPHIS and INTROVERT collided resulting in INTROVERT to be checked and lose ground.  MEMPHIS and BLUE DOT raced wide rounding the turn out of the back straight.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN HEAT 3 395M

ROCK ON MOE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SMASHNIAK ICE shifted in which tightened the racing room of STAR RING, JUST FROSTY, SUSHI COWBOY and KULU JASPER resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn KULU JASPER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after KULU JASPER contacted the hindquarters of KRANKY resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  SMASHNIAK ICE raced wide rounding the turn out of the back straight.  In the front straight SUSHI COWBOY turned its head and made muzzle contact with STAR RING resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. S Buckland that the greyhound SUSHI COWBOY would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks.

GLEN GALLON @ STUD NOVICE 395M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn SLIP MY MIND was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  PRINCESS LIGHT and ELLA’S LOLLIEPOP which were racing to its outside were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight POUNCING LILIE shifted out which hampered the running of KULU SPARROW.  Rounding the turn into the front straight LUCKMAN shifted out which hampered the running of POUNCING LILIE and KULU SPARROW.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE HEAT 1 395M

FEARLESS DANCER, DAVID’S MEMORY and COSMO LEN were best to begin.  Entering the back straight CORY’S DIAMOND improved onto the hindquarters of DAVID’S MEMORY resulting in DAVID’S MEMORY to be severely checked and fell taking no further part in the race.

 

The greyhound DAVID’S MEMORY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Mr. D Gilroy who handled the greyhound was reprimanded under the provisions of Rule 86 (o) for comments he directed towards the club’s official lure driver at the completion of the event.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn ELL’S ALL CLASS, KYOTO KAHN and JESSIE KATHLEEN were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn QUEENIES BEST, CLASSIC TERRA, WESTERN HONEY and RED STEEL were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of NO JOCKEY NEEDED which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MAHAILIA, FABULOUS ABBY, MINNIE’S HOPE and PLUM JAM were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight MAHAILIA improved onto the heels of MAGICAL YESSAM and was momentarily hampered.  At the same time THIS TIME MADDIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

SULZANTI @ STUD 5th GRADE HEAT 3 395M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn COWBOY, SHAYLOR BART and HARA’S HUMMER were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight TRAV’S GIFT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

MANLY HOTEL 5th GRADE HEAT 4 395M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn SOLO DANCER, GALLANT EXPLORER and AUGUST FLAME were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight THIRTY SIX was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after PREMIER TEJAY which was trailling improved onto the hindquarters of THIRTY SIX resulting in THIRTY SIX to be severely checked, fell and took no further part in the race.  AUGUST FLAME which was racing to the outside of THIRTY SIX was severely checked and fell as a consequence taking no further competitive part in the race.  PREMIER TEJAY was severely checked as a result of this incident and lost considerable ground.

 

The greyhound AUGUST FLAME underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound THIRTY SIX underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near fore leg and was humanely euthanised.
