GLASSHOUSE
GREYHOUND SPORTING CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 520M APACHE
BROOK was best to begin. CORONARY
CLOUD knuckled over shortly after the start and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the front
straight CORONARY CLOUD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. SCIPIO AFRICANUS, PAUA TO

out which hampered the running of CORONARY CLOUD. The
greyhound CORONARY CLOUD underwent a post- race veterinarian examination and
no apparent injuries were found. When
questioned, trainer Mr. M Reid stated that the greyhound had stumbled shortly
after the start and suffered some interference throughout the event, which in
his view took its toll on the greyhound over the concluding stages. He said that he had trialled the greyhound
post to post here at Albion Park leading up to the race and was expecting a
forward showing. He further stated
that in his view the greyhound would benefit from further racing as it was
having its 1st race start.
Stewards noted his explanation. |

into the front straight during the run to the finish MY SPRITE was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground. When questioned over the performance
of ANGELIC MISS which won tonight’s event trainer Mr. D Titmarsh reported the
greyhound was giving a short letup after finishing sixth at Albion Park on 6
February as he had concerns that the greyhound was increasing in weight and
had lost condition. He said that
ANGELIC MISS had taken some time to return to its best racing weight and he
was expecting a forward showing in tonight’s event. He said that ANGELIC MISS although is a
rails runner it is best suited when it is able to obtain clear galloping room
in the early stages of the race which occurred here tonight. He stated while his expectation of ANGELIC
MISS would be very competitive in tonight’s event he did not support the
greyhound. Stewards noted his
explanation. |
