LASS and TWIN GALAXY were best to begin.
MAYBE PETER and LOOSE TABACCO raced tight and unbalanced shortly after
the start. Over the concluding stages
BONKNOCKA LASS and TWIN GALAXY collided. The
greyhound SPRING TIME GIRL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and
was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down
for a period of 10 days. |

GARRARD’S HORSE AND
HOUND NOVICE 520M MYRNIONG FLOYD and EDGE OF FOREVER were best to begin
while PINK IMPACT was slowly away.
Approaching the 1st turn MATRICULATE and CYCLONE BARCI
collided and became severely unbalanced and PINK IMPACT and DUDE PERFECT
which were following were severely inconvenienced. As a result, CYCLONE BARCI and PINK IMPACT
lost significant ground. The greyhound PINK IMPACT underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

slow to begin. LAST DRINKS and ADHARA
GOLD began awkwardly and lost ground.
Shortly after the start AUSSIE DIAMOND and PRECIOUS TO ME collided and
YO VALE checked off heels hampering ADHARA GOLD which was following. Entering the back straight AUSSIE DIAMOND
was tightened and lost ground. In the
top turn PRECIOUS TO ME improved onto heels and was checked. Shortly after, SORRENTO and MAX BE DONNA
collided and were unbalanced. YO VALE
which was following was hampered as a result. |

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 0 – 3 WINS 600M LITTLE MISS SHOW was slow to begin. In the 1st turn WATCH OUT
RENALD, SKY BOND, PING LING and BIG BAD BOB were all tightened and lost
ground. In the bottom turn WATCH OUT
RENALD was hampered and forced to shift wide. The greyhound WATCH OUT RENALD underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound SKY BOND underwent a post-race veterinary examination,
was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind toe, and was stood down
for a period of 7 days. |

5th GRADE 520M HARA’S STORM and GEORGIA were best to begin while RANGER
DANGER and HARA’S SAM were slowly away.
In the 1st turn COME TOGETHER checked off heels. In the turn in the home straight HARA’S SAM
checked off heels. Shortly after, COME
TOGETHER and RANGER DANGER bumped. |

SKY RACING 5th GRADE 520M Even start.
Shortly after the start LORD LACHLAN and SMACK DAB were
tightened. In the front straight LUCKY
SALLY, SO SABRINA and SHOES TO FILL collided causing SO SABRINA to lose
ground. In the 1st turn
SMACK DAB and MILLION DOLLAR collided.
Shortly after, POWER JET checked off heels and shifted out and SHOES
TO FILL which was following was hampered.
Leaving the 1st turn SO SABRINA and LUCKY SALLY raced tight
and lost ground. The greyhound LUCKY SALLY underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound SIMPLY MAGIC underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned on the
greyhound’s seemingly poor performance over the concluding stages of this
event, trainer’s representative Mrs. A. Hagicostas advised that SIMPLY MAGIC
was working back to the 520m distance after a short lay-off, and that she
expected the greyhound to begin well, as it did. She further stated that this
greyhound has been injury prone in the past, so the trainer has been cautious
with its preparation. SIMPLY MAGIC is drawn to race of the 520m distance this
coming Thursday at Albion Park and Mrs. Hagicostas advised that connections will
expect a forward showing from the greyhound. Stewards noted Mrs. Hagicostas’
comments. |

GRADE FINAL 520M FLASH VENTURE and CAPTAIN TIL were best to begin. In the front straight STILL COUNTING was
tightened and lost ground. Shortly
after, CAPTAIN TIL and FLASH VENTURE raced tight and bumped. Approaching the 1st turn FLASH
VENTURE was tightened and lost ground.
Shortly after, FLASH VENTURE and CAPTAIN TIL raced right and
bumped. Approaching the 1st
turn FLASH VENTURE was tightened and lost ground causing INVERGARRY LADY,
STILL COUNTING and SHOT CLOCK which were following to be hampered. As a result of this incident FLASH VENTURE
and STILL COUNTING lost significant ground.
COSADO SUN and AVAMAY were also inconvenienced as a result of this
incident. In the 1st turn
SHOT CLOCK checked off heels. The greyhound FLASH VENTURE underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

to begin. Shortly after the start
CAPTAIN THURSDAY and ISSY COOL were tightened and lost ground. In the 1st turn QUINTASTIC and
BIG EASY RED came together and were unbalanced. Entering the top turn ISSY COOL clipped
heels and became unbalanced. Entering
the home straight ANGELIC MISS checked off heels. ISSY COOL checked off heels in the home
straight. |

GRADE 520M STANKY LEG was best to begin. In the front straight BIG TURLS was
tightened and lost ground. In the top
turn LONNIE’S BANJO was tightened and lost ground. IT’S ABOUT TIME was wide in the back and
home straights. The greyhound LONNIE’S BANJO underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

COWGIRL LUCY was tightened and lost ground.
Approaching the 1st turn COWGIRL LUCY was tightened and
lost ground as SPRING FIRECHIEF shifted out.
In the 1st turn SPRING FIRECHIEF checked off heels and PAW
DIDEMIS that was racing to its outside was hampered. Approaching the top turn COWGIRL LUCY was
hampered. FLASHING FERGO checked off
heels in the top turn. |

C. Byers, the trainer of the greyhound HARRY BAILEY that competed in race 8
at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club on the 5th of April 2017,
reported to stewards in the following days that upon further veterinary
inspection the greyhound was found to have sustained an injury to the off hip
support muscle. Mr. Byers therefore anticipates a period of inaction for this
greyhound as it recovers from this injury. Stewards noted Mr. Byers’
comments. |
