Stewards Trial 1 – 520m The greyhound OH
GOLLY GOSH performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m
in a time of 31.17 and is now cleared all tracks. The greyhound RAGNAR
LOTHBROK performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m
in a time of 31.07 and is now cleared all tracks. The greyho9und
KINGSBRAE CHOOKY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance
of 520m in a time of 30.53 and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane
until after 17 May 2017. Stewards Trial 1 – 395m The greyhound TOKEN
TOFF failed 6 month trial over the distance of 395m. |
The greyhound DORRY’S
DREAM performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 395m in a
time of 24.10.
The greyhound PEANUT
performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.80.
The greyhound LOUIE

time of 23.27.

start with the exception of SPECIAL COVER which was marginally slow to begin
and TWIN GALAXY which was slow to begin.
Approaching the turn out of the front straight NOT FOR LONG was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. NIKITA’S GLAMOUR which was trailing was
checked as a consequence. Leaving the
back straight NOT FOR LONG was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. The
greyhound NOT FOR LONG underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no
apparent injuries were found. Stewards
advised trainer Mr. L Lewis that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71
Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m
all tracks prior to nominating. |

MAIDEN HEAT 2 520M Even start.
Shortly after the start MAYBE PETE was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Rounding the
turn out of the front straight READY CETTE was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. FREEWAY KING
and VIKING VIXEN which were trailing were checked as a consequence. Approaching the turn into the back straight
MAYBE PETE and READY CETTE raced tight resulting in both greyhounds losing
ground. Rounding the turn into the
front straight FROSTY BEJAY and SPRING TIME GIRL bumped. Entering the front straight MAYBE PETE and
READY CETTE collided. The greyhound READY CETTE underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound MAYBE PETE underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near
side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

start. Shortly after the start KAAN
PAKMAK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. In the front straight on the 1st
occasion HURUNUI ALYSSA and RICHMOND ROAD bumped on several occasions. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
HOOTALUNA was tightened for racing room, severely checked and lost
considerable ground. Approaching the
turn into the front straight RICHMOND ROAD improved onto the heels of PAUA TO
LAUNCH and was held up for clear running. The greyhound
HOOTALUNA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

GARRARD’S HORSE & HOUND 0 – 3 WINS 600M Even start.
Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st
occasion WATCH OUT RENALD was tightened for racing room, severely checked and
fell and took no further competitive part in the race. Rounding the turn into the front straight
on the 1st occasion SKY BOND and IMA RUNAWAY collided resulting in
both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
SKY BOND was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. IMA RUNAWAY which was racing to its outside
was checked as a consequence. The greyhound WATCH OUT RENALD underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

CLINT’S
CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE 520M HONEY HORNET was best to begin. In the front straight on the 1st
occasion HONEY HORNET collided with FROSTY AJAY resulting in both greyhounds
to be checked. Shortly after PAW
DIDEMIS and HURRICANE CHANCE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be
checked. Rounding the turn out of the
front straight HONEY HORNET and LIGHTNING LARICO collided. Entering the back straight HONEY HORNET
checked across the heels of UNIQUE MOTIVE and lost ground. The greyhound HONEY HORNET underwent a post race veterinarian
examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned over the performance
trainer Mr. R Burman stated that when the greyhound draws an inside box it
has a tendency to shift out and in his view this had a direct effect the way
the greyhound performed in today’s event.
He further stated that when HONEY HORNET draws an outside box it has a
tendency to shift in which is in contrast to the way the greyhound raced
tonight. |

JOHN PAY MEMORIAL 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M PRECIOUS TO ME was best to begin. Shortly after the start AVAMAY, BIG BAD BOB
and EDGE OF FOREVER were tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. CAN OF SPRITE was slow to
muster speed in the early stages.
Leaving the back straight EDGE OF FOREVER was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound SISSO’S JOY underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

JOHN PAY MEMORIAL 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M TOOKA TURN was best to begin. Shortly after the start MISS MINAJ and IMA
PACEMAN collided. Leaving the front
straight VALKYRIE CANDY and MUSTANG NOVA collided. Entering the back straight MISS MINAJ was
tightened for racing room, severely checked and considerable lost
ground. MUSTANG NOVA which was trailing
was checked as a consequence and raced wide. |

SKY
RACING 3/4th GRADE 520M Even start with the exception of WAY
OF SHADOWS and GUNNA WINK which were both slow to begin. Shortly after the start ISSY COOL was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. In the front straight on the 1st
occasion TORQUE FLIGHT and IRONBAR RICKY collided. TORQUE FLIGHT commenced to give ground
rounding the turn out of the back straight. The greyhound TORQUE FLIGHT underwent
a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury
to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days. |

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5th
GRADE 520M The ‘all clear’ was delayed to allow stewards the
opportunity to view the official race replays with concerns to the placement
of the lure in the back straight.
After viewing all available footage stewards were satisfied with the
lure positioning and then gave the ‘all clear’. Even start.
Shortly after the start STATUE BRO and ELEGANT STRIDER collided
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Leaving the front straight STATUE BRO and
ONE IN SIX collided resulting in STATUE BRO to be checked and lose ground. Entering the back straight STATUE BRO
improved onto the heels of ONE IN SIX and lost ground. The greyhound STATUE BRO underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

GRADE 395M The greyhound ACE underwent a pre race veterinarian
examination when it fell on the way to the boxes, and no apparent injuries
were found and was passed fit to compete. Even start. STANKY
LEG slipped on the mat shortly after the start and was hampered. ACE which was racing to its outside was
hampered as a consequence. Through the
1st turn STANKY LEG was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. Rounding the turn out of
the back straight AWESOME WILLS improved onto the heels of SIVAMET. Rounding the turn into the front straight
AWESOME WILLS and TOBIAS RUMBLE collided on a number of occasions resulting
in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. |
