IT IS performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a
time of 30.42 and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane until after 12
July 2017. The greyhound ALPHA
NEMESIS performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in
a time of 31.15 and is now cleared all tracks. The greyhound
HOOTALUNA performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m
in a time of 30.90 and is now cleared all tracks. Stewards Trial 2 – 395m The greyhound SUSHI
COWBOY failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 395m. |

THIRTY TALKS
@ STUD MAIDEN HEAT 1 520M TIARA
GLOW, PHANTOM HOUDINI and FROSTY BEJAY were slow to begin. At the start TIARA GLOW and FROTSY BEJAY
collided. In the front straight OPAL
DUDE checked off heels. In the 1st
turn OPAL DUDE shifted out causing tightening to VIKING VIXEN, FROSTY BEJAY,
SCINTILLATIN SAL and PHANTON HOUDINI and all greyhounds were severely
inconvenienced. As a result, FROSTY
BEJAY fell and took on further competitive part in the event and SCINTILLATIN
SAL lost significant ground. OPAL DUDE
lost ground in the back straight and took no further competitive part in the
event. The
greyhound FROSTY BEJAY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. The
greyhound SCINTILLATIN SAL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and
no apparent injuries were found. The
greyhound OPAL DUDE underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found
to have suffered an injury to the off side pin, and was stood down for a
period of 21 days. |

MAIDEN HEAT 2 520M FLYING COMET began well.
MARETTO and ARELEM DUDE were tightened in the front straight. Passing the winning post on the 1st
occasion MARETTO, SIMMSY’S NINERON and ARELEM DUDE were all checked and
momentarily hampered. Leaving the 1st
turn SIMMSY’S NINERON was tightened and lost ground. Entering the back straight MARETTO improved
onto the heels of ARELEM DUDE and both greyhounds were checked. Leaving the back straight ARELEM DUDE and
MARETTO raced tight and unbalanced for some distance causing MARETTO to fall
and take no further competitive part in the event. ARELEM DUDE lost significant ground as a
result. The greyhound MARETTO underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound ARELEM DUDE underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND NOVICE 520M BUNDY BUCKS
and DANCE OF LOVE were best to begin while ELOISE and FIRED UP AGAIN were
slowly away. Shortly after the start
MR. BELVEDERE was tightened and momentarily hampered. In the front straight DANCE OF LOVE shifted
in tightening ROCKIN’ ALL OVER and BUNDY BUCKS and both these greyhounds were
hampered. Approaching the 1st
turn ELOISE and ROCKIN’ ALL OVER were tightened and lost ground. In the top turn ROCKIN’ ALL OVER checked
off heels. |

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 0 – 3 WINS 600M SKY BOND and APACHE BROOK were best to begin while PORT
LISA was slowly away. Shortly after
the start DUDE PERFECT and LONELY GIRL were hampered. Leaving the 1st turn SORRENTO
and FIRST FIRE collided. Entering the
top turn SKY BOND was checked and momentarily hampered. |

CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 4/5th GRADE 600M STILL COUNTING was slow to begin. In the 1st turn GUNNA WINK was
tightened and momentarily hampered.
Entering the bottom turn GUNNA WINK, ALPHA HECTOR and HURRICANE CHANCE
all raced tight and bumped. Shortly
after, GUNNA WINK checked off heels and lost ground. The greyhound GUNNA WINK underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M HARBOUR DRIVE was best to begin while PAW DIDEMIS was
slow. At the start BOGAN DANCER was
tightened and lost ground. In the
front straight BOGAN DANCER and SPRING CREEK MAX collided and lost
ground. Approaching the 1st
turn SPRING CREEK MAX checked off heels and BOGAN DANCER that was following
was inconvenienced. In the top turn
BOGAN DANCER checked off heels and lost ground. In the top turn SPRING CREEK MAX lost
ground and took no further competitive part in the event. The greyhound SPRING CREEK MAX underwent a post-race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock, and
was stood down for a period of 60 days. |

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5th
GRADE HEAT 2 520M WATCH OUT RENALD and WAY BEFORE YOU were best to begin
while SPOOKIE ASSASSIN and SPRING TIME GIRL were slow. In the front straight WAY BEFORE YOU was
tightened and lost ground. At the same
time VENOM STRIKES was also inconvenienced and lost ground. In the 1st turn SPRING TIME GIRL
and WAY BEFORE YOU collided.
Approaching the top turn STUBBORN STATE was inconvenienced and
momentarily hampered. Entering the
home straight WATCH OUT RENALD, WAY BEFORE YOU and SPRING TIME GIRL collided
and became unbalanced. |

5th GRADE HEAT 3 520M REFUND REQUIRED began well. Approaching the 1st turn general
tightening resulted in interference to all runners, caused REFUND REQUIRED to
fall and take no further competitive part in the event. BINTANG LAURIE and GEORGIA also lost
significant ground due to this incident.
Approaching the top turn NEED TO TRAVEL checked off heels. Over the concluding stages GEORGIA and
SPANISH HARBOUR collided heavily. The greyhound PRECIOUS TO ME underwent
a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound REFUND REQUIRED
underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found. |

UBET – THE NEW TAB 4/5th
GRADE 395M RAMBLIN’ ROSE was best to begin. In the first turn CUZZY
BROMAC, KLOEIS PRIDE, MASTER CORSAIR and ADHARA STEEL were tightened and
became unbalanced. As a result, MASTER CORSAIR shifted out, colliding with
SPRINFIELD BOY and both greyhounds lost ground. Entering the back straight
KLOEIS PRIDE checked off heels. The greyhound SPRINGFIELD BOY underwent a post-race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin, and
was stood down for a period of 7 days.
Trainer Mr. M. Boody was questioned in regards to the greyhound’s
performance and in particular to its history of sustaining injuries at this
track. Mr. Boody advised that this
particular greyhound experienced trouble remaining physically sound. Mr.
Boody added that he always trialled the greyhound to his satisfaction prior
to nominating for an event. Stewards
advised that Rule 71 (2) would be applied in this instance, requiring a
veterinary clearance be provided for SPRINGFIELD BOY prior to the greyhound being
further eligible to nominate for an event. |

5th GRADE 395M The start of this event was delayed as HAVANA BLACK
proved difficult to box. This
greyhound was subsequently declared ‘hard to box’. HAVANA BLACK was slow to begin. In the back straight ELEGANT STRIDER lost
ground in clear running and took no further competitive part in the
event. DORREGO that was following was
severely inconvenienced as a result and lost significant ground. The greyhound ELEGANT STRIDER underwent a post-race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back
muscle, and was stood down for a period of 28 days. |
