Stewards Trial 1 – 520m The greyhound THAT
HOUDINI performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in
a time of 30.66 and is now cleared all tracks except Cairns and after 31 July
2017. The greyhound
SARAJEVO GIRL failed 6 month trial over the distance of 520m. The greyhound
PALLINGTON performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m
in a time of 30.66 and is now cleared all tracks. The greyhound SMACK
DAB performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a
time of 30.62 and is now cleared all tracks. Stewards Trial 1 – 331m The greyhound
PRINCESS IVY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of
331m in a time of 19.43. The greyhound
KIMAHRI RONSO performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of
331m in a time of 19.17. |

THIRTY TALKS
@ STUD MAIDEN HEAT 1 520M The
muzzle of ALISSA’S ANGEL was dislodged upon jumping from the boxes. VALKYRIE
BLUE was best to begin and ALPHA ATLAS was slow. Shortly after the start ALPHA ATLAS was
tightened. Approaching the 1st
turn STRUDEL improved onto the heels of VALKYRIE BLUE and both greyhounds
were checked and forced to race wide in the 1st turn, losing
ground. ALPHA ATLAS and TIARA GLOW
collided leaving the 1st turn.
Entering the top turn VALKYRIE BLUE shifted out hampering STRUDEL. The
greyhound STRUDEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

MAIDEN HEAT 2 520M VALKYRIE NIGHT and VIKING RED were best to begin while
SIXTEEN WINX was slow. Approaching the
1st turn KYELLA was hampered.
Shortly after FLYING COMET checked off heels and raced wide through
the 1st turn with STROGANOFF racing wide in the turn. Leaving the 1st turn GALWAY
HYPERACT was tightened and lost ground.
In the top turn STROGANOFF shifted out off the heels of VALKYRIE
NIGHT. STROGANOFF raced green
throughout. |

ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND NOVICE 520M HABITUAL was
best to begin. SUPA PASS and SMASHNIAK
ICE began well while GAS UP ISA and FIRED UP AGAIN were slow. CHIPPIE ROSE HI checked off heels shortly
after the start. GAS UP ISA and
PHANTOM HENRY collided in the front straight.
Approaching the 1st turn PHANTOM HENRY was tightened and
momentarily hampered. Approaching the
top turn PHANTOM HENRY checked off heels.
In the top turn GAS UP ISA checked off heels. PHANTOM HENRY and FIRED UP AGAIN raced
tight and bumped in the home straight. |

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE 520M NEVER A DOUBT was best to begin. PHANTOM PETE and ARFA
SHOW OFF also began well. Shortly
after the start WOOLOOGA was checked as PHANTOM PETE shifted in. At the same time SWEET KARMAR was tightened
and lost ground. Approaching the 1st
turn ARFA SHOW OFF checked off heels and became unbalanced causing BILLY BOY
and KLOMPUS that were following to be hampered. In the 1st turn KLOMPUS and ARFA
SHOW OFF collided. Leaving the 1st
turn SWEET KARMAR checked off heels.
Leaving the top turn SWEET KARMAR checked off heels and was
unbalanced. The greyhound KLOMPUS underwent a post-race veterinary examination,
was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind toe, and was stood down
for a period of 14 days. |

CLINT’S
CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 0 – 3 WINS 600M JIMARY NAVIGATOR was slow to begin. In the 1st turn LONELY GIRL,
ROCKIN’ ALL OVER and SANDAVE BELLAIRE were tightened and became
unbalanced. In the bottom turn TREBLIG
LUCIA shifted out and lost ground of its own accord. The greyhound TREBLIG LUCIA underwent a post-race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the stomach muscle, and
was stood down for a period of 21 days. |

SKY RACING 4/5th GRADE 520M VIKING BUDDY and THROTTLE ON were best to begin. Entering the 1st turn THROTTLE
ON was tightened and lost ground and SHUNT MAN that was following was
hampered. Entering the top turn SHUNT
MAN improved onto the heels of LOVE SHAK severely checking this greyhound and
causing it to lose ground. Entering
the home straight BEC’S DIAMOND and SHUNT MAN collided. Shortly after, THROTTLE ON, SHUNT MAN and
TORQUE FLIGHT collided and TORQUE FLIGHT lost ground as a result. The greyhound TORQUE FLIGHT underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned
on the below market expectation performance trainer Mr. A. Kennewell advised
stewards that the greyhound, after suffering a stopper tendon injury earlier
in the year, had been unable to return to its best form over the 520m
distance. Mr. Kennewell advised that
he plans to drop the greyhound back to shorter distances from this point
forward. The greyhound LOVE SHAK underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY
BEST 8 520M KINGSBRAE CHOOKY was best to begin while EL CHAD was
marginally slow. In the front straight
RUSTY’S IMAGE, JOE’S DRINKING, SWAP YA and TAHLIA’S WAY raced tight. Shortly after, SWAY YA and TAHLIA’S WAY
collided and became unbalanced. In the
1st turn APATITE, MAGICAL YESSAM and RUSTY’S IMAGE were hampered
as KINGSBRAE CHOOKY shifted out.
TAHLIA’S WAY checked off heels in the back straight and top turn and
was momentarily hampered on both occasions. |

5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M DANCE OF LOVE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start DANCE OF LOVE and
WAIKARIE NOEL collided causing DANCE OF LOVE to become unbalanced. Shortly after, RICHMOND ROAD, SPRING TIME
GIRL and GOOD CALL PAUL raced tight and GOOD CALL PAUL lost ground as a
result. Entering the back straight
WAIKARIE NOEL checked off heels and RICHMOND ROAD that was following was
hampered. Approaching the top turn
DANCE OF LOVE was tightened and lost ground. The greyhound DANCE OF LOVE underwent
a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The
greyhound was however found to be suffering from post-race distress syndrome.
Trainer Ms. L. Green reported to stewards that the greyhound was unsettled in
the kennels, which she believed might have had a negative effect on the
greyhound. Ms. Green advised that she
intended on having the greyhound’s blood profile examined by her veterinarian
this week and undertook to report to stewards any abnormalities. Ms. Green also stated that given the
greyhound’s nature in the kennels she planned to race at venues closer to
home in NSW in future. |

GRADE HEAT 2 520M PAW DIDEMIS, JACKSON BENZ and CHASING RAINBOWS were slow
to begin. Shortly after the start
JACKSON BENZ and CHASING RAINBOWS collided and were unbalanced. In the 1st turn BLAKE’S TURN and
JACKSON BENZ bumped. The greyhound FARMOR CHIPS underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

GRADE 395M KAZEKO, RATTLESNAKE CAFÉ and CUZZY BROMAC were best to begin. In the 1st turn LORD LACHLAN
checked off heels. The greyhound LORD LACHLAN underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned on the greyhound’s below
market expectation performance, trainer Mr. G. Keep stated that the greyhound
does not typically begin fast from the boxes. He noted that its last start at
Albion Park, in which it won, the greyhound did begin well, however he
considered that to be an exception to the greyhound’s usual form. Mr. Keep further stated that the greyhound
does have considerable ability however, in his opinion, is rather
inconsistent. The greyhound MAMA NATURE SAID underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
