Stewards Trial 1 – 331m

The greyhound ANGEL SHOW performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.07.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN 520M

Even start with the exception of LOOSE TABACCO, BUTTERFLY IS SHE and JEDI RUMBLE which were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start PETITIE FAWN and RUMBLE SOLDIER were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight PETITE FAWN, RUMBLE SOLDIER, ALPHA HEMERA and BUTTERFLY IS SHE were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight PETITE FAWN checked across the heels of JEDI RUMBLE and lost ground.  BUTTERFLY IS SHE which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight RUMBLE SOLDIER and ALPHA HEMERA collided on a number of occasions resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight LOOSE TABACCO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight RUMBLE SOLDIER improved onto the heels of PETITE FAWN and raced wide as a consequence.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5th GRADE 331M

Even start.  Entering the back straight GOLD SHERONA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  GOLD SHERONA was held up for clear running rounding the turn into the front straight.  Entering the front straight GOLD SHERONA and MR. WOODS collided resulting in MR. WOODS to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound GOLD SHERONA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5th GRADE 395M

Even start with the exception of MYSTIC KAHN and ROAYL ALBERT which were both slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ARABIAN GO GO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  NAMROD raced wide in the back straight.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight ARABIAN GO GO shifted in and made contact with the running rail and lost ground.  MYSTIC KAHN raced wide over various stages of the race.

 

The greyhound ARABIAN GO GO underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of ARABIAN GO GO trainer Mr. B Baker stated that the greyhound had trialled well leading up to tonight’s race and he was expecting a forward showing.  He stated that after the greyhound had suffered interference in the early stages of the race where it was tightened he was overall satisfied with its performance.  He further stated that he had dropped the greyhound back in distance from the 520m to the 395m as it was his view that ARABIAN GO GO was not finishing out the 520m and it would be his intention to restrict its racing to either the 395m at Albion Park or the 431m at Ipswich.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn LARA SAINT was tightened for racing room, shifted out and collided with KORONG resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight SMASHNIAK WINX checked across the heels of BLOZA and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight CONVEX and ON TIGHT LINES collided which resulted in ON TIGHT LINES to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the front straight ON TIGHT LINES shifted in which checked the running of CORONG resulting in that greyhound to lose ground.

 

The greyhound CONVEX underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LARA SAINT underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE 520M

BIG TURLS and FLASHING FERGO were best to begin.  COSMIC YESSAM was slow to begin.  Entering the back straight FLASHING FERGO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight COSMIC YESSAM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight TINY TIARA improved onto the heels of TWIN GALAXY and lost ground.

 

The greyhound MUSTANG NOVA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

SKY RACING 5th GRADE 600M

Even start.  Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion FROSTY AJAY was checked and lost ground.  MILLION DOLLAR which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight MILLION DOLLAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  ALFONSO raced wide in the front straight during the run to the finish.

 

 

The greyhound ABMAY PRINCESS underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer Mr. M James stated that the greyhound races best in his opinion over the 600m however, maybe it was racing out of its grade when racing at Albion Park.  He stated that after tonight’s performance he may reassess ABMAY PRINCESS’s immediate racing future.

DAZE LIKE THIS, THURSDAY WISH and RUN KAY RUN were best to begin.  COOPOLLY BEACH was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DAB LIVY DAB was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight COOPOLLY BEACH was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after DAB LIVY DAB was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound COOPOLLY BEACH underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

BRISGREYS.COM 5th GRADE FINAL 520M

IRINKA GAIL was best to begin.  BELVEDERE BABE shifted out shortly after the start which hampered the running of POLLYS MAID.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight IRINKA GAIL was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided heavily with BELVEDERE BABE resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight IRINKA GAIL and GRAND ANGEL collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  POLLYS MAID which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound IRINKA GAIL underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BELVEDERE BABE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with the exception of TREAGLE TRIUMPH which was slow to begin.  Entering the back straight DAVID’S MEMORY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight ROCKABILLY OSTI and NOVA DE KAHN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  GALWAY HYPERACT raced wide in the front straight.

Even start with the exception of NAUGHTY JESS, SNAKEY KATIE and STOLE MY HEART which were all marginally slow to begin.  Entering the back straight BETTER SIZE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight STOLE MY HEART shifted out which hampered the running of SNAKEY KATIE resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.
