Stewards Trial 1 – 331m

The greyhound KERCHRIS LEE failed a 6 month trial over the distance of 331m and the greyhound underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was humanely euthanised.

ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN HEAT 1 395M

Even start with the exception of MERLOT HAYZE and BOGAN LAD which were marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn SPICE THAT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight SPICE THAT shifted out which hampered the running of FAKE NEWS.  MERLOT HAYZE raced wide for the majority of the event.

 

The greyhound DYNAMITE PACE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 2 395M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn GOLDEN STORM was tightened for racing room, shifted out and collided with BOGAN BELLE resulting in BOGAN BELLE to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after GOLDEN STORM collided with FLYING COMET resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  DOLCETTO HAYZE which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

GLASSHOUSE GREYHOUND SPORTING CLUB NOVICE 395M

Even start with the exception of OGODEI STAR which was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ARFA SHOW OFF was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight OGODEI STAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5th GRADE 520M

Even start.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight VIKING WHITE, DAZE LIKE THESE and WHAT A MESS were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  COSMIC CRACKLE raced wide rounding the turn out of the front straight.

 

The greyhound VIKING WHITE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5th GRADE HEAT 1 395M

TONLEIGH, RUDOLFINUM and DIAMOND JAKEY were best to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight RUDOLFINUM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  MOCHACHINI MAN which was trailling was severely checked as a result of this incident and lost considerable ground.  ANOTHER RED which was racing to the outside of MOCHACHINI MAN was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  GRAND ANGEL raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.  RUDOLFINUM which was trailling was checked as a consequence and raced wide.

 

The greyhound MOCHACHINI MAN underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

WITHCOTT HOTEL 5th GRADE HEAT 2 395M

Even start.  Approaching the 1st turn ODESSA and SLICK GAMBLER collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn QUICK AND LIVELY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight ODESSA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight ODESSA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BRAVE ULYSSES raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 4th GRADE 395M

The start of this race was delayed due to track maintenance required.  All further races were put back 1 race timeslot with Race 10 to be commenced at 6.12pm.

 

The greyhound OPPORTUNE KNOCKA underwent a pre race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found and was passed fit to race.

 

Even start.  Through the 1st turn DUSTY ROCKS and TREAGLE TRIUMPH were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of PLUM JAM which was marginally slow to begin and HARA’S HUMMER which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn LADY OLIVIA and SIMPLY MAGIC were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SHAYLOR ANDRE which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight CROWN EDDIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight HARA’S HUMMER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PLUM JAM and I’M GLAD collided resulting in I’M GLAD to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound SIMPLY MAGICE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near fore foot and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

The greyhound CROWN EDDIE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered stress and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Even start with the exception of SHEZ ROCKING which was marginally slow to begin.  Leaving the 1st turn WESTERN HONEY was tightened for racing room, fell and took no further part in the race.  CUTE GAMBLER which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight CAPTAIN’S KNOCK shifted out and checked the running of SHOW BEKIM, DREAM YOUR DREAM and STAR RING causing all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound WESTERN HONEY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING 5th GRADE HEAT 4 395M

EGYPTIAN MISS was best to begin.  ACE GAMBLER slipped on the mat shortly after the start and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn STAR BILLING and INTERACTION were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight MYRNIONG FLOYD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound ACE GAMBLER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer Mr. P Lavis stated the greyhound had worked well leading up to today’s race and he was expecting a forward showing however, he had some concerns that the greyhound having drawn box 1 as it has a tendency to shift out shortly after the start.  He stated that the greyhound would be better suited to be drawn out wide.  He further stated that whilst the greyhound had received some interference in the early part of the race he was satisfied with the performance as he was of the view that the greyhound has limited ability.  Stewards noted Mr. Lavis’s explanation however, informed him that there would be an investigation undertaken into the betting activities of this race.
