Stewards Trial 1 – 331m The greyhound
BROTHERS BITTEN performed a 6 month stewards’ trial over the distance of 331m
in a time of 19.78. Stewards Trial 1 – 520m The greyhound
MORAYFIELD SWIFT performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance
of 520m in a time of 30.60 and is now cleared all tracks. |

RACE REPORTS |

UBET –
DOWNLOAD THE APP MAIDEN 520M Even
start with the exception of SANRICO ROSIE which was marginally slow to
begin. Shortly after the start OXLEY
REBEL shifted in and collided with BERT SWANG resulting in that greyhound to
be checked and lose ground. BERT SWANG
was slow to muster speed in the early stages of the race. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
SILVER STUNNER checked off heels and raced wide. Entering the back straight OXLEY REBEL
checked off heels and was momentarily hampered. Leaving the back straight OXLEY REBEL and
BOGAN BELLE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and
lose considerable ground. At the same
time SANRICO ROSIE shifted out and its attention was drawn away from the
lure. Approaching the turn into the
front straight and rounding the turn into the front straight BOGAN BELLE and
SANRICO ROSIE collided on a number of occasions. The
greyhound SANRICO ROSIE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no
apparent injuries were found. Stewards
advised trainer Ms. S Clark that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69
(A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory
stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. The
greyhound BERT SWANG underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was
found to have suffered an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down
for a period of 7 days. |

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5th
GRADE 520M Even start.
Shortly after the start IMS RUNAWAY was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Approaching
the turn out of the front straight LONESOME HERO, ACTUALIZE, SPRING RUNNER,
DISCO DOLLY and IMA RUNAWAY were all tightened for racing room, checked to
varying degrees. Rounding the turn out
of the front straight NEVER A DOUBT was tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground. Approaching the turn
into the front straight NEWS STORY improved onto the heels of CYCLONE BARCI
and was momentarily hampered. NEVER A
DOUBT which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground. |

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 4/5th GRADE 600M The ‘all
clear’ of this race was delayed to allow the stewards the opportunity to view
the official race film in respect to determine whether any greyhounds’
chances were materially affected by birds on the track in the back straight. After viewing the official film stewards
were satisfied that no greyhound’s chances were effected and the ‘all clear’
was given. Even start
with the exception of BIG BAD BOB which was marginally slow to begin. |

ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB 4/5th GRADE 395M Even start with the exception of BARBARA BENZ which was
slow to begin. Shortly after the start
DANCING SOLO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. |

Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st
occasion WERINA LIGHTNING and SORRENTO collided. Entering the back straight SORRENTO was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound WERINA LIGHTNING underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned over the performance of
WERINA LIGHTNING trainer Mr. N Evans informed stewards that the greyhound was
having its 1st run over the 600m and he was of the view that it
failed to run out the distance. He
stated that he would not persist with racing WERINA LIGHTNING over the 600m
in the near future. |

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5th GRADE 520M Even start with the exception of NOTORIOUS HERO and TIM
AND NIEL which were both marginally slow to begin. Leaving the front straight VELOCITY MARLINA,
NEDGO PRINCESS, TIM AND NIEL and SMASHNIAK ICE were all tightened for racing
room, checked to varying degrees.
Rounding the turn into the front straight SPRITELY BILL was tightened
for racing room, shifted out and collided with SMASHNIAK ICE resulting in
both greyhound to be checked and lose ground. The greyhound TIM AND NIEL underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound NEDGO PRINCESS underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING 4/5th
GRADE 520M The start of this race was delayed when SULTAN OF RUM
proved difficulty to box. After hearing
an explanation from trainer Mr. K O’Brien SULTAN OF RUM will be given 1 more
chance to be boxed in the correct manner. Even start.
Shortly after the start BOGAN FLYER, KEALOAH and GUNNA WINK were all
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the front
straight ROXANNE BENZ and COSMIC ELITE were both tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Rounding the
turn out of the front straight COSMIC ELITE, GUNNA WINK and SULTAN OF RUM all
raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and raced wide. ROXANNE
BENZ eased in the latter stages of the race. The greyhound ROXANNE BENZ underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Ms. B Beesley that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 2nd
offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. |

5th GRADE FINAL 520M Even start with the exception of ROAD
SCHOLAR which was marginally slow to begin and REGAL CYNDIE which was slow to
begin. Rounding the turn out of the
front straight SPLENDID STAR and WHO IT IS collided resulting in WHO IT IS to
be checked and lose ground. Entering
the back straight WHO IT IS checked off the heels of SPLENDID STAR and lost
ground. In the front straight during
the latter stages of the race REGAL CYNDIE and AND YOU ARE collided. The greyhound REGAL CYNDIE underwent a
post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.
Stewards questioned Mr. W Elson regarding the actions of the greyhound where
it appeared it may have baulked in
running over the concluding stages. After considering all available evidence
REGAL CYNDIE was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any
rule. The greyhound WHO IT IS underwent a
post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury
to the off side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 7 days. |

Approaching the turn out of the back straight SPICE BUCKET was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the back straight BLOZA was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound BLOZA underwent a post race veterinarian
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
