BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 395M Even
start, with the exception of KINGSBRAE BOY which was marginally slow to begin. Through the 1st turn, SMASHNIAK
CROWN, KINGSBRAE BOY and FLYING COMET all collide, resulting in all
greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.
Entering the back straight, SMASHNIAK CROWN was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground. At the
same time, MASTER BULLET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Rounding the turn out of the
back straight, KINGSBRAE BOY checked across the heels of MASTER BULLET,
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. HAY HONEY raced wide rounding the turn into
the front straight. |

MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 395M Even start.
Shortly after the start, GRAY GREY GOOSE was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground.
Approaching the turn out of the back straight, ASH TIDE was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
In the front straight during the later stages of the race, GRAY GREY
GOOSE and HARA’S STEVO collide. When questioned over the performance of RILEY ROO,
trainer Mr D McGrath stated that they greyhound was having its third race
start, and in his view has limited ability.
He said that in its previous two race starts, the greyhound raced in
the lead, or near thereof, which in his view, the greyhound races best. He stated that in today’s race, RILEY ROO
went up with the lids and therefore lost ground in the initial stages of the
race, and after receiving some interference during the early stages, he was
satisfied with the overall performance of RILEY ROO. |

EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS NOVICE – 395M Even
start. Shortly after the start, TOOK A
FERGUS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Through the 1st turn, CHIEF SNOW
was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Shortly after, HAY NANNY was tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, ZINCHENKO checked across
heels, shifted out and collided with REGAL EMERALD, resulting in that
greyhound to be checked and lose ground.
Shortly after, REGAL EMERALD was tightened for racing room, checked,
fell and took no further competitive part in the race. TOOK A FERGUS, which was racing to its
outside, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. At the same time, HAY NANNY shifted in and
made contact with the running rail and lost ground. The greyhound
HAY NANNY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. The greyhound
REGAL EMERALD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5TH
GRADE HEAT 1 – 395M Even start, with the exception of TOO MANY BILLS which
was slow to begin. In the back
straight, REPTAR commenced to give ground.
At the same time, TOO MANY BILLS commenced to give ground to finish a
considerable distance from the remainder of the field. Rounding the turn into the front straight,
MR. BANKS checked off heels and lost ground.
The greyhound TOO MANY BILLS underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off
side back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days. The greyhound REPTAR underwent a post race veterinary
examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock
and was stood down for a period of 14 days. |

HOUND 5TH GRADE – 520M Even start, with the exception of LION’S BLUE and BOGAN
BELLE, which were both marginally slow to begin. Rounding the turn out of the back straight,
LION’S BLUE checked off heels and lost ground. The greyhound CALL ME UGO underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off
side hock and was stood down for a period of 14 days |

Shortly after the start, LETHAL KID was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Through the 1st
turn, LETHAL KID was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and
collided with NEVER A DOUBT, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and
to lose ground. Entering the front
straight, TOEY GAMBLER improved onto the heels of PLUM JAM, shifted out and
collided with LETHAL KID, resulting in TOEY GAMBLER to lose ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight,
LETHAL KID was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound TOEY GAMBLER underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

a consequence and lost ground. Leaving
the back straight, WIGGLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost

THE MANLY HOTEL 5TH
GRADE HEAT 3 – 395M Even start.
Through the 1st turn, VALKYRIE NIGHT, HEY HEY HAYLEY and
ZIPPING SCOUT were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Entering the back straight,
SMASHNIAK ICE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. POPULAR BELIEF, which was trailing, was
checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Shortly after, VALKYRIE NIGHT shifted out and collided with SAPPHIRE
QUEEN, resulting in SAPPHIRE QUEEN to be severely checked and fall, taking no
further competitive part in the race.
SMASHNIAK ICE and POPULAR BELIEF, which were both trailing, were
severely checked and lost considerable ground as a result of this
incident. Rounding the turn into the
front straight, and for the majority of the front straight, ZIPPING SCOUT
shifted out and marred the running of HEY HEY HARLEY resulting in both
Greyhounds to be checked and lose considerable ground. Stewards’ advised trainer, Mr S Goodwin, that they
greyhound ZIPPING SCOUT would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd
Offence, 3 months and greyhound must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trail
over a distance of 395m.. |
