BRIBIE ISLAND NOVICE – 395M LUNA
BEACH was best to begin, JEMMA’S MAGIC was marginally slow. Leaving the 1st turn, LUNA BEACH
was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground. ADRIENNE’S HOPE, which was trailing, was
impeded and lost ground as a result.
Leaving the turn out of the back straight, FEAR BETTY and TOOK A
FERGUS raced tight, with FEAR BETTY improving onto the rear of TOOK A FERGUS,
causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a consequence. ADRIENNE’S HOPE and LUNA BEACH raced tight
and checked just prior to the finish . |

MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 520M DOUBLE CHIP and SMASHNIAK DOUBLE were both best to
begin. STACK UP and CASH POINT were
both marginally slow. Approaching the
1st turn, CASH POINT and NOT TOO BOSSY raced tight and
checked. DOLLAR DAYS and ARE JAY
LOCHIE raced wide through the 1st turn. CASH POINT and NOT TOO BOSSY raced tight
and checked leaving the turn into the back straight. STACK UP shifted out and collided into
DOLLAR DAYS shortly after, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable
ground as a consequence. SMASHNIAK
DOUBLE and NOT TOO BOSSY raced tight and checked leaving the turn into the
front straight. The greyhound STACK UP underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 520M VABABLONDE
was best to begin, WILL BUT WIN was slow.
Approaching the 1st turn, BUTTERFLY IS SHE checked off
heels lost ground, then checked into REGAL RECALL, which was trailing,
causing both greyhounds to lose ground.
At the same time, ARE JAY SMILEY checked off heels and lost
ground. WILL BUT WIN raced wide
through the 1st turn.
Leaving the 1st turn, ARE JAY SMILEY and BUTTERFLY IS SHE
checked, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result. Shortly after, BUTTERFLY IS SHE checked off
heels and lost ground. REGAL RECALL
raced wide through the turn into the front straight. |

MAIDEN HEAT 3 – 520M COOLAZAR and HARA’S SKYLAH were both best to begin. BEWDY LODGE, WAMBERAL BOY, SIR RAVEN and
STOP IT LACHLAN raced tight and checked immediately after the start, causing
all to lose ground as a consequence.
Shortly after, SIR RAVEN stumbled, became unbalanced and lost momentum. WAMBERAL BOY raced wide through the 1st
turn. Leaving the 1st turn,
HARA’S SKYLAH and JIMARY MONEYBAGS raced tight and checked, causing both to
lose ground. COOLAZAR, which was
trailing, was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground. UNO UNO improved onto the rear of COOLAZAR
shortly after, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a consequence.
COOLAZAR commenced to yield ground approaching the turn out of the back
straight. The greyhound COOLAZAR underwent a post race veterinary
examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and
was stood down for a period of 21 days. The greyhound WAMBERAL BOY underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near
hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

MAIDEN HEAT 4 - 520M HARA’S STEVO was best to begin, MAC ROAMIN’ and ZABDON
ZINGER were marginally slow. JETTA
BERETTA, UNO JOHN and BIG LITTLE LIES raced tight and checked shortly after
the start, resulting in JETTA BERETTA and UNO JOHN to stumble and lose
ground. Shortly after, JETTA BERETTA,
BIG LITTLE LIES and ZABON ZINGER collided, causing JETTA BERETTA and ZABDON
ZINGER to stumble and lose ground, and BIG LITTLE LIES to check off heels and
lose considerable ground as a consequence.
Approaching the 1st turn, ROAR BACK was tightened for
racing room and lost ground. Leaving
the turn into the back straight, UNO JOHN improved onto the rear RING HIM,
causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result. The greyhound JETTA BERETTA underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

MAIDEN HEAT 5 – 520M CATER STREET was best to begin, SILVER STUNNER and
SHIFTWELL were both marginally slow.
SMASHNIAK CROWN and FLYING COMET bumped shortly after the start,
causing SMASHNIAK CROWN to lose momentum and considerable ground as a
result. Approaching the 1st
turn, SILVER STUNNER was tightened for racing room and lost ground. SMASHNIAK CROWN raced very wide through the
1st turn. Leaving the 1st
turn, COYBIG was tightened for racing room and lost ground. SILVER STUNNER and FLYING COMET raced tight
and bumped leaving the turn into the front straight. |

EXPAT LODGE BOARDING
KENNELS 5TH GRADE FINAL – 395M KINGSBRAE HARLEY, SOLO DANCER and TOOKA TRIP were all
best to begin, MISS GAMBLER and ODESSA were both slow. RALLY DRYVA, SULTAN OF RUM and ANOTHER RED
raced tight and checked at the 1st turn, causing all to lose
ground as a result. In the back
straight, ANOTHER RED improved onto the rear, then collided heavily into
TOOKA TRIP. ODESSA, which was racing
to the outside, was severely inconvenienced as a result of that contact,
causing all three greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a
consequence. SULTAN OF RUM and MISS
GAMBLER, which were trailing, were also impeded. Approaching the turn out of
the back straight, SULTAN OF RUM checked off heels and lost ground. |

THIRTY
TALKS @ STUD BEST 8 – 395M BARRA TRIP and BETTA BE QUICK were both
best to begin. TUBBY TURNER was
slow. At the 1st turn,
COSMO CYNDIE improved onto the rear of BETTA BE QUICK, causing both
greyhounds to lose significant ground as a result. COSMO BILL, which was racing to the
outside, was inconvenienced and lost momentum. TUBBY TURNER raced wide through the turn
into the front straight. The greyhound TUBBY TURNER underwent a
post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound BETTA BE QUICK underwent
a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury
to tail and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

HOUND MIXED 3/4 – 395M NAUGHT MAX was best to begin, NEW ABODE and RAQUEL’S
MAGIC were slow. LETHAL KID raced wide
through the turn into the front straight.
NAUGHTY MAX, BOGAN SECRET and COMETRON FLYER raced tight and bumped
just prior to the finish. |

THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED
4/5 – 395M IRON MONARCH was best to begin. The field, apart from IRON MONARCH, USURPER
and JOHN’S LAST, raced tight and checked at the 1st turn with all
losing ground to varying degrees. Shortly
after, DUSTY ROCKS was tightened for racing room and lost ground. USURPER raced wide through the turn out of
the back straight and continued wide for the remainder of the race
thereafter. The greyhound HAY WILLIAM underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards’ questioned trainer, Mr W Elson, into the
performance of his greyhound HAY WILLIAM.
Mr Elson stated that he was disappointed with the greyhound as it
appeared to tire over the concluding stages of the race. |

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH
GRADE (1) – 395M BEST STRATEGY was marginally slow to begin. GOLD SHERONA stumbled shortly after the
start and commenced to yield ground, taking no further competitive part in
the race thereafter. The field raced
tight into the 1st turn, with DANCING SOLO and BIMBADGEN MAN
tightened for racing room and losing ground. CASH FLOW JOE checked off heels
shortly after and lost ground.
Approaching the turn out of the back straight, DANCING SOLO shifted
out and improved onto the rear of BIMBADGEN MAN, causing both greyhounds to
lose substantial ground as a consequence.
DANCING SOLO continued to race wide for the remainder of the
race. The greyhound GOLD SHERONA underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off
side elbow and was stood down for a period of 21 days. |

GRADE (2) – 395M INSIDE RACING was best to begin. Approaching the 1st turn, VIKING
WHITE commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the
race thereafter. Leaving the 1st
turn, MISS PAIGE MAC was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and
lost ground. DYNA RAZE, which was
trailing, was impeded and became severely unbalanced losing significant
ground as a consequence. JOHN’S CHOICE
raced wide in the back straight.
Approaching the turn out of the back straight, CASH FUND checked off
heels and lost ground. CASH FUND raced
wide out of the back straight and through the turn into the front
straight. The greyhound VIKING WHITE underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the off side hip and
was stood down for a period of 21 days. |
