causing both greyhounds to be hampered. |

HEAT 2 – 331M OUTBACK SHADOW was best to begin, with APACHE VILLA
marginally slow. Shortly after the
start, ORANG OAK ROAD collided with MERLIN’S MAID, causing both greyhounds to
lose ground. At the same time,
SMASHNIAK COMET was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Approaching the 1st turn,
SMASHNIAK COMET collided with the running rail and lost ground. Rounding the turn, OUTBACK ILLUSION and BIG
BANG TEXADA collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. At the same time, ORANGE OAK ROAD shifted
out colliding with MERLIN’S MAID and both greyhounds lost ground. The greyhound SMASHNIAK COMET underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near
shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

BLACKJACK BETTY clipped heels and lost ground. The greyhound FABTHOR underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back
muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days. |

1st turn, SAGE OF OMAHA and LAST DRINK collided, causing LAST
DRINK to lose ground, and SAGE OF OMAHA to fall and give no further
competitive part in the race. In the
back straight, LUCK’S GONE clipped the heels of HARA’S HORNET, causing both
greyhounds to lose ground. The greyhound SAGE OF OMAHA underwent a post-race
