– 331M KAKEI
was best to begin. In the back
straight, TYPE OF DUK was tightened and lost ground. HONCHO LEADER and SUMMER’S PICK were
hampered and lost ground. Entering the
turn, HONCHO LEADER eased and took no further part in the event. Stewards’ advised Mr W Nicholls, that
the greyhound HONCHO LEADER would be suspended under Rule 69A Failing to
Pursue 1st Offence, with the greyhound being stood down for a
period of 28 days at the track where the offence occurred and will be
required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, prior to racing again. |

MAIDEN (2) – 331M BIG BIRD was best to begin. In the back straight, MISS EMMY checked off
heels and became unbalanced, and SWEET KAOS that was following was
inconvenienced. Leaving the turn, BIG
BIRD improved onto the heels of RAIN ALERT and both greyhounds were
checked. |

HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN (3) – 331M NOIRE DREAM was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, BLACK STONE was
tightened and lost ground. In the back
straight FANTA POP was hampered and lost ground. Leaving the turn, TIGHT CIRCLE and TIMELY
RICKSHAW raced tight and bumped. |

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MAIDEN FINAL – 331M TEJAY’S MAGIC and ISLA’S IVY were best to begin, while
TADA AGAIN was slow. In the back
straight, SHADOW COURT was checked and lost ground. Entering the turn, TEJAY’S MAGIC checked
off heels. Over the concluding stages QUAKER
STATE turned its head outwards making muzzle contact with KEY FACTOR. Stewards’ advised trainer, Mrs K. Hoggan, the greyhound QUAKER STATE would be
suspended under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, with the greyhound
being stood down for a period of 28 days at the track where the offence
occurred and will be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial ,prior
to racing. |

SHOW which was following was inconvenienced as a result. |

WITHCOTT HOTEL 5PW – 331M The start of this event
was delayed as JOHN’S CHOICE proved difficult to box. Subsequently, stewards declared JOHN’S
CHOICE a hard-to-box dog. ULLO BELLS was best to begin. PETITE FAWN was wide in the back
straight. The greyhound ZABDON LAMBO underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off
hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

KENNELS 5TH GRADE – 331M MR. APOLLO was best to begin, while MAGIC CODE and KIM
OSTI were slowly away. In the turn

back straight, MASTER DEAN was tightened and lost ground. Approaching the turn, CHEVALEIR NUIT and
SAGE OF OMAHA collided, causing SAGE OF OMAHA to become unbalanced. Shortly after, HAY YOU FELLA was tightened
as SPUDTASTIC shifted in. |

FABERGAS @ METICULOUS
LODGE MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M CIANNA’S ANGEL, PINK TRICK and SPRITELY BILL were slow to
begin. JOHN’S LAST and IMMA CALLIM
KLAY raced tight in the first turn. Leaving the first turn IRONBAR RICKY was
checked and lost ground. When questioned on IMMA CALLIM KLAY’s below market
expectation performance, trainer Mr D. McGrath stated that he was
disappointed with the performance and that in his opinion the greyhound requires
a clear run in order to perform at its best. Mr McGrath also made mention of
the greyhound’s inconsistent form. Stewards noted his comments. The greyhound IMMA CALLIM KLAY underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound PINK TRICK underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind toe
and was stood down for a period of 28 days. |

THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED
3/4TH GRADE – 331M FAB FIT, SHORT SESSION and ILLAWONG COWGIRL were best to
begin. In the back straight SHORT
SESSION, WHITE OX and JET BLACK STAR were all tightened for racing room and
momentarily hampered. Approaching the
top turn SHORT SESSION, WHITE OX and JET BLACK STAR raced tight and bumped,
causing JET BLACK STAR to lose ground.
Entering the home straight GALA SHOW checked off heels and raced wide. The greyhound JET BLACK STAR underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
