The greyhound SAID BILLY failed to perform a
satisfactory stewards’ trial.
The greyhound SMACK DAB performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 331m, in a time of
19.28m, and is now cleared to race.

NZ MAN OF STEEL MAIDEN – 520M GRU
and UNO UNO were both best to begin. IVY’S BOUQUET
and STOP THE IMAGE were both slow. In
the 1st turn, BEE SOLO improved onto the rear of ROSEY’S LASS,
which in turn checked into BLUE FLYER which was racing to its outside,
causing all three greyhounds to lose ground.
Leaving the 1st turn, ROSEY’S LASS and BLUE FLYER checked,
causing both greyhounds to become severely unbalanced and lose substantial
ground. IVY’S BOUQUET and STOP THE
IMAGE were inconvenienced as a result of this contact. Leaving the turn into the front straight,
GRU was momentarily impeded and lost momentum. The
greyhound BLUE FLYER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. The
greyhound ROSEY’S LASS underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

UBET – DOWNLOAD THE
APP NOVICE – 520M LAST DRINK was best to begin, FIRE FLY JAKE was very
slow. At the 1st turn,
UNIQUE SPIRIT shifted out and checked into MONTRACHET and FIRE FLY JAKE,
causing all three greyhounds to race wide and lose ground as a result. Leaving the 1st turn, MONTRACHET
checked off heels and lost ground.
Shortly after FIRE FLY JAKE was impeded and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front
straight, MONTRACHET was impeded and shifted wide losing ground as a
consequence. The greyhound MONTRACHET underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MA5 – 395M WESTERN HONEY
was best to begin. NIGHT TIME LOVER
was slow. At the 1st turn,
SPORTFAN, BETTER SIZE and PICKLED TINK were all tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Approaching
the turn out of the back straight, IMPOSSIBLE was tightened for racing room,
impeded and lost ground. NIGHT TIME
LOVER raced wide through the turn into the front straight. Leaving the turn into the front straight,
SPORTFAN turned its head towards the greyhound racing to its outside. The greyhound
SPORTFAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. Stewards’ advised Mr R Burman, that
the greyhound SPORTFAN would be suspended under Rule 69A Failing to Pursue 1st
Offence, with the greyhound being stood down for a period of 28 days at the
track where the offence occurred and will be required to perform a
satisfactory stewards’ trial, prior to racing again. |

WITHCOTT HOTEL 5TH GRADE (1) – 520M DAZE LIKE THESE was clearly best to begin, STEAL A KISS,
SWIFT NIMROD and REGAL CYNDIE were all marginally slow. Approaching the 1st turn, SWIFT
NIMROD was tightened for racing room, impeded and lost significant ground as
a consequence. SWIFT NIMROD raced wide
through the turn into the front straight.
Leaving the turn into the front straight, BRITTANY TALKS and REGAL
CYNDIE raced tight and bumped. The greyhound YOREMMUP underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

PRINCESS and RUN KAY RUN were both best to begin. Shortly after the start, NEDGO PRINCESS
shifted out, at the same time WE KNOW shifted inwards, causing the majority
of the field, with the exception of IRON MAID and RUN KAY RUN, to be
tightened and check. FANTASIA LEE lost
significant ground as a result of this contact. HARA’S STEVO lost significant ground as a
consequence and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter. Approaching the 1st turn,
DANCING SOLO was impeded, shifted out and lost momentum. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
NEDGO PRINCESS and WE KNOW raced tight and bumped, causing both greyhounds to
lose ground. The greyhound
HARA’S STEVO underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to
have sustained an injury to the near side shoulder and was stood down for a
period of 42 days. |

EMILY was best to begin, SORRENTO was marginally slow. LOBCHA raced wide through the 1st
turn. Leaving the turn into the front
straight, SORRENTO was momentarily impeded and shifted out. |

GARRARD’S HORSE AND
HOUND 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M HARA’S SKYLAH, INDIAN GIVER and MAGIC BARB were all best
to begin. HAY BILLY was marginally
slow. Approaching the 1st
turn, BIG HERO SIX shifted inwards, causing INDIAN GIVER and MAGIC BARB to be
tightened for racing room, check and lose considerable ground as a consequence.
Shortly after INDIAN GIVER and MAGIC BARB checked heavily again, resulting in
both greyhounds losing substantial ground as a consequence and taking no
further competitive part in the race thereafter. HAY BILLY and JAYCEE’S LADY
raced wide through the 1st turn.
Approaching the turn out of the back straight, HARA’S SKYLAH was
tightened for racing room and lost ground. The greyhound MAGIC BARB underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound INDIAN GIVER underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

MYSTERY was marginally slow. Shortly
after the start, SPRING MYSTERY was tightened for racing room, checked off
heels and lost ground. Leaving the 1st
turn, WHO IT IS shifted extremely wide and lost ground as it did. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight, POLLYS MAIDE shifted in, which impeded the running of SPRING
MYSTERY and DULCAFAY, causing both to lose momentum. WHO IT IS and AND
YOU ARE raced wide through the turn into the front straight. |

LODGE MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M BLOZA was best to begin, CHIEF SNOW was extremely
slow. Leaving the 1st turn,
ANOTHER RED was tightened for racing room and lost momentum. Leaving the turn into the back straight,
ANOTHER RED was hampered and lost ground.
Shortly after CHIEF SNOW was impeded and collided into the rear of WAY
TO WITCHES, becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Immediately after that, CHIEF SNOW checked
off heels and lost ground. Leaving the
turn out of the back straight, FONIC LASS and DAY TIME FRIEND bumped, causing
DAY TIME FRIEND to lose ground. |

GRADE – 331M FAKE NEWS and INTERACTION were both slow to begin. Approaching the 1st turn,
WAIKAIRE SYLVIE improved onto the rear of NOT MY TIME, causing that greyhound
to become severely unbalanced and lose ground, and WAIKARIE SYLVIE to also
lose ground. LET’S GO FABIO, which was
trailing, was impeded and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight, LET’S GO FABIO and WAIKARIE SYLVIE checked off the heels of NOT MY
TIME and lost ground. INTERACTION which was trailing was inconvenienced and
lost momentum. Immediately after NOT MY TIME shifted extremely wide and
hampered FAKE NEWS as it did, resulting in FAKE NEWS becoming unbalanced and
fall and NOT MY TIME to become severely unbalanced. Both FAKE NEWS and NOT MY
TIME lost substantial ground as a consequence and took no further competitive
part in the race thereafter. The greyhound NOT MY TIME underwent a post race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound FAKE NEWS underwent a post race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound INTERACTION underwent a post race
veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near
side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days. |
