Race 1 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE – 520M
PETA
GLEDHILL was best to begin. Shortly
after the start, SURGENIE was tightened for room and hampered. UNO UNO,
SOUTHERN RIPPLE and HOOT all collided. Approaching the 1st turn, UNO
UNO was tightened for room and hampered. BELLE OF SWORDS checked out across
heels. RING HIM was tightened for room and checked. Through the turn into the
back straight, SOUTHERN RIPPLE was tightened for room and hampered. Out of the
back straight into the turn, SOUTHERN RIPPLE checked out across heels, HOOT was
checked. BELLE OF SWORDS and RING HIM collided and were checked. Shortly after,
SURGENIE was tightened for room and checked.
Race 2 – UBET TAPPY MA5 (1) – 520M
ARDEN STREET was slow
to begin. Shortly after the start,
RAQUEL’S MAGIC and TURN AND BURN were both tightened for room and checked. NOOREE DESSA was tightened for room and hampered. BLOZA contacted heels and was checked. On entering the 1st turn, NOOREE
DESSA, TURN AND BURN, WAHWAH TIGGY and RAQUEL’S MAGIC all collided and were
checked. On entering the back straight,
RAQUEL’S MAGIC collided with TURN AND BURN and was checked.
The greyhound RAQUEL’S
MAGIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.

Race 3 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5TH GRADE (1) –
520M
Shortly
after the start, SNOWBALL OTTO and CAN’T POSSIBLY were both tightened for room
and checked. Approaching the 1st
turn, PRINCESS EMILY was tightened for room and checked. FEMME FOLLE and
SNOWBALL OTTO, which were trailing, were both checked. Through the turn into
the back straight, PRINCESS EMILY contacted the heels of FEMME FOLLE and was
checked. On entering the back straight, CAN’T POSSIBLY contacted the heels of
SNOWBALL OTTO, both runners were hampered. Out of the back straight into the
turn, FEMME FOLLE was tightened for room and checked. Through the turn into the
front straight, SNOWBALL OTTO improved onto heels and was hampered. In the
front straight, NEVER WALK ALONE checked out across heels.
Race 4 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE (2) – 520M
BIG
TURLS was best to begin. BLUE TEXADA began awkwardly. JEMMA’S MAGIC and KNOCK
ME OVER bumped after the start. Approaching the 1st turn, WILDASH
TOM was tightened for room and checked. SMOKIN’ ALICE, which was trailing, was
checked. KULU TURKEY improved onto heels and shifted out wider on the track.
WILDASH TOM shifted out, forcing BLUE TEXADA wide. Through the turn into the
back straight, JEMMA’S MAGIC bumped BIG TURLS. KNOCK ME OVER was tightened for
room and hampered. In the back straight, BLUE TEXADA raced wide. Out of the back straight into the turn, BIG
TURLS was tightened for room and hampered. Through the turn into the front
straight, KNOCK ME OVER checked out across heels. On entering the front
straight, KULU TURKEY collided with WILDASH TOM.
The
greyhound BLUE TEXADA underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a
period of 7 days.
Stewards’
questioned the kennel representative, Mr A Dargusch, in regards to the
performance of BLUE TEXADA. Mr Dargusch
expressed his disappointment in tonight’s performance and added that he had
anticipated a better showing. He added
that as this being the greyhound’s first start over the 520m, that the
greyhound was at a slight disadvantage, having only competed over the 395m at
this venue. He further added, that the greyhound performs best when obtaining
an early lead and the interference suffered to BLUE TEXADA in the first turn
attributed to the greyhound’s performance. Stewards noted Mr Dargusch’s
comments.
When
questioned into the performance of BIG TURLS, Trainer D Turley explained that
he was surprised in the performance and the unexpected speed shown from the
start in tonight’s event. He added that by not competing at the venue in
approximately 2 months, the greyhound was “freshened up”. Mr Turley further
added that he will be looking to nominate in NSW in future and that he did not
support the greyhound in tonight’s event.
Race 5 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MIXED 4/5TH
GRADE – 520M
CHAMPAGNE
SALLY was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, YEAH OKAY was tightened for
room and checked. LIL MISS PINKY was tightened for room and hampered. Approaching the 1st turn,
CHAMPAGNE SALLY checked in across heels. Shortly after, CLASSY CASSIE and SONIC
THUNDER collided, CLASSY CASSIE was checked. YEAH OKAY collided with CLASSY
CASSIE, which then shifted out and collided with INDIAN GIVER.
The
greyhound INDIAN GIVER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.

Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS 5TH GRADE
– 710M
DREAM
BLASTER was best to begin. VISIGOTH was slow to begin. Shortly after the start,
SWEET KARMAR sustained and injury and took no further competitive part in the
event. VISIGOTH, which was trailing, was checked. Through the turn into the back straight,
BRITTANY TALKS checked out across heels and lost ground. Out of the back
straight into the turn, DREAM BLASTER and VISIGOTH were both tightened for room
and checked.
The
greyhound SWEET KARMAR underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood
down for a period of 28 days.
Race 7 - FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE MIXED 3/4TH
GRADE – 520M
DAZE
LIKE THESE began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, LOVE THE
LOOK and KULU JASPER collided. Approaching the winning post, DEL REY was
tightened for room and checked out across heels. Through the turn into the back
straight, BRIGHT SATELLITE, LOVE THE LOOK and KULU JASPER all collided, LOVE
THE LOOK and KULU JASPER were checked. On entering the back straight, ADHARA
STEEL was tightened for room and hampered. Out of the back straight into the
turn, both KULU JASPER and DAZE LIKE THESE were tightened for room and
checked.
Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM BEST 8 – 520M
CODRINGTON KID was best
to begin. Shortly after the start, WISE MISTY checked in across heels. SMART MARLOW
checked out across heels. Approaching the 1st turn, BUBBLE GUPPY was
tightened for room and hampered. DAHOMEY WINDSONG was tightened for room and
checked. Through the turn into the back straight, WISE MISTY collided with
BUBBLE GUPPY. Out of the back straight into the turn, BUBBLE GUPPY contacted
the heels of NEEKY’S WAY. Through the turn into the front straight, SNUG
collided with CODRINGTON KID. CODRINGTON KID checked out across heels. On
entering the front straight, CODRINGTON KID collided with WISE MISTY. Shortly
after, SMART MARLOW collided with NEEKY’S WAY.
Over the concluding stages of the race, SMART MARLOW and BUBBLE GUPPY bumped.
Race 9 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS 5TH GRADE (3) –
520M
CASH POINT was slow to
begin. Approaching the winning post, POLLYS MAID was tightened for room and
hampered. Approaching the 1st turn, both MAGIC HORNET and POLLYS
MAID were tightened for room and hampered. On entering the 1st turn,
both MAGIC HORNET and POLLYS MAID were tightened for room and checked. Through
the turn into the back straight, POLLYS MAID and IZY GOLD collided and were
severely checked. Through the turn into the front straight, MAGIC HORNET and
EMMA’S MAGIC bumped. On entering the front straight, BROTHER DESY and REGAL
EMERALD bumped.
Race 10 – UBET – DOWNLOAD THE APP MA5 (2) – 520M
PENDITA was slow to
begin. Shortly after the start, TINY TIARA checked out across heels.
Approaching the 1st turn, BRIGHTEST STAR was tightened for room and
hampered. Through the turn into the back straight, AZARIAH and CASH FUND were
both tightened for room and checked, DUSTY’S CHANCE was checked. Out of the
back straight into the turn, DOLLAR AND CENT checked out across heels and
collided with DUSTY’S CHANCE.
