Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ASSEST BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN (1) – 520M

 

Shortly after the start, OUR SASSY GYPSY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after, COLOR PURPLE and OXLEY ONE collided.  Leaving the front straight, SILVER LUX was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  OUR SASSY GYPSY and CELTIC DRAGON, which were both trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

Race 2 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MAIDEN (2) – 520M

 

In the front straight on the 1st occasion, SONIC BOOM checked across heels.  Leaving the front straight, DARBY’S GIRL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BLUE FLYER, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, SONIC BOOM was tightened racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 3 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS NOVICE – 520M

 

HOOT underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found fit to race.

 

Shortly after the start, TOO GOOD JOOG was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the front straight all runners, with the exception of BIG BIRD were tightened for racing room and checked to varying degrees.   Shortly after, TOO GOOD JOOG and UNIQUE SPIRIT collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, IMA TIPPA TOO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, UNIQUE SPIRIT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the front straight, and during the run to the finish, IMA TIPPA TOO and INFRARED LAD collide. 

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 0-4 WINS – 600M

 

INOUNO was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, on the 1st occasion, ALLPA MAMA and IZY MAGIC were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the front straight, on the 1st occasion, WHIPPY MIDGET and SORRENTO collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

 

Race 5 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND MA5 – 395M

 

Shortly after the start, SMART SHIRL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn, ON TIGHT LINES was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, MAM’S MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, MAM’S MAGIC checked off heels and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound MAM’S MAGIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – THE MANLY HOTEL 5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Shortly after the start, DISCO DOLLY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the front straight, on the 1st occasion, PETA GLEDHILL and ROAR BACK were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

When questioned over the performance EXPONENTIAL, Ms T Fuller, trainer’s representative, reported that the greyhound had trialled well over the 520m, prior to tonight’s race and were expecting a forward showing.  Ms Fuller stated that the earlier effort in the race, where the greyhound had to make up some ground over the leaders, in her view took a toll on the overall performance.  Whilst disappointed with the run, Ms Fuller stated that it was the intention to race over EXPONENTIAL over the 520m.

 

The greyhound EXPONENTIAL underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Shortly after the start, SILVER STUNNER and WAZZA WHO were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, STROGANOFF was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 8 – FABERGAS @ STUD 5TH GRADE FINAL – 520M

 

Leaving the front straight, TOOKA TRIP, GO RUBY GO and HAY HOPEY all received interference and lost considerable ground.  Entering the back straight, SMOKIN’ ALICE commenced to give ground and retired from the race. 

 

The greyhound HAY HOPEY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SMOKIN’ ALICE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hock and was humanely euthanised.

 

Race 9 – UBET TAPPY BEST 8 – 395M

 

Entering the back straight, ALBURY WAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight, PLUM JAM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 10 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

The “All Clear” of this race was delayed to allow stewards’ the opportunity to view the film in regards to the positioning of the lure in the back straight.  After viewing all available footage, stewards’ were satisfied and gave the “All Clear”. 

 

KINGSBRAE CAROL and LAGOON LUCKY were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, POONYAHRA and COOKIE NO CREAM were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, CHAMPAGNE SALLY was tightened for racing room, improved onto the heels of MOSCOW MULE, resulting in that greyhound to shift out and collided with ANNIE’S MAGIC, which in turn shifted out and collided with KINGSBRAE CAROL, which then shifted out and improved onto the hindquarters of YOREMMUP, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, MOSCOW MULE and CHAMPAGNE SALLY collide.

 

The greyhound LAGOOON LUCKY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
