Race Reports

 

Race 1 – THANK YOU PAUL DOLAN NOVICE – 520M

 

Even start. In the early stages of the front straight, OXLEY ONE and ELUSIVE BALLARD bumped on several occasions and lost ground.  Shortly after, SWEET TALKING shifted inwards, colliding with ELUSIVE BALLARD, resulting in both runners to be checked.  At the same time, ISADORA FROSTED and OXLEY ONE collided, resulting in both runners to be severely checked and lose ground.  Entering the turn out of the front straight, ARE JAY LOCHIE shifted out across ELUSIVE BALLARD, resulting in both runners to be severely checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, OXLEY ONE improved onto the heels of SWEET TALKING, resulting in SWEET TALKING to be hampered, and OXLEY ONE to be checked and shift outwards.  ARE JAY LOCHIE, which was racing to the outside of that runner, was severely checked, fell, and took no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound ARE JAY LOCHIE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound ELUSIVE BALLARD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB PUBLICAN’S CUP 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

 

SNOWBALL CREED was slow to begin.  Entering the turn out of the front straight, PROPER GENT and NURBERG were tightened for room and checked.  MAC ROAMIN’, which was racing to their outside, was inconvenienced as a consequence.  SNOWBALL CREED shifted out wide on the turn to avoid those runners’ heels.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, SNOWBALL CREED contacted the hindquarters of MAC ROAMIN’, resulting in both runners to be checked. In the back straight, AMARETTO HAYZE and PROPER GENT raced wide.

 

Race 3 – ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB PUBLICAN’S CUP 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 520M

 

OH JAY KORIE was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn, YEAH OKAY contacted the hindquarters of ALPHA CHAOS, resulting in that runner to be checked and shift outwards.  SPRING FORTE and OH JAY KORIE, which were trailing, were checked as a consequence.  At the same time, EMPIRE REIGN was tightened for room and was checked.  Through the first turn, MAYWYN REWARDS shifted outwards and contacted the hindquarters of HARA’S FLAME and BIMBADGEN MAN, resulting in all runners to be severely checked and lose ground to varying degrees.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, OH JAY KORIE improved onto the back of BIMBADGEN MAN, resulting in both runners to be checked.  MAYWYN REWARDS, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence.  MAYWYN REWARDS raced wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound MAYWYN REWARDS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found

 

Race 4 – KEDRON WAVELL SERVICES CLUB 4TH GRADE – 520M

 

Even start. Shortly after the start, AZARIAH was tightened for room, severely checked, fell, and took no further part in the event.

 

The greyhound AZARIAH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found

 

Race 5 – SALISBURY COMMUNITY SPORTS CLUB 5TH GRADE – 600M

 

VISIGOTH was slow to begin. Approaching the turn out of the front straight, FLYAWAY BARB was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. 

 

The greyhound FLYAWAY BARB underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – MARBURG HOTEL PUBLICANS’ CUP 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 520M

 

Even start.  Through the first turn, REGAL JADE checked off heels.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, BILLY BOY checked off heels.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, REGAL JADE was bumped by another runner, hampered and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, REGAL JADE was bumped by another runner and lost ground.

 

Race 7 – CARINA LEAGUES CLUB PUBLICAN’S CUP 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 520M

 

TAIL WAG and ROCKFORD bumped at the start, and were subsequently slow to begin.  In the front straight, MANDELA CLOUD shifted inwards and collided with KALANI KARL, resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the first turn, MANDELA CLOUD shifted outwards and collided with TAIL WAG and ROCKFORD, resulting in those runners to be checked to varying degrees and lose ground. Entering the back straight, JEMMA’S MAGIC improved onto the heels of AZA ZEUS, resulting in both runners to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. 

 

Race 8 – PAUL DOLAN APPRECIATION BEST 8 – 520M

 

GO LASSIE GO and WISE MISTY were best to begin.  Entering the first turn, CASANOVA JOE was tightened for room and checked.  KULU JASPER, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence.   Entering the turn out of the back straight, CASANOVA JOE was tightened for room and checked.  KULU JASPER, which was trailing, checked off that runner’s heels.  Approaching the turn into the home straight, SHOT CLOCK shifted outwards contacting the hindquarters of GO LASSIE GO, resulting in both runners to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the home straight, CASANOVA JOE and SHOT CLOCK collided, resulting in both runners to be checked.

 

Race 9 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 520M

 

MAGIC HORNET was best to begin, with YOUI slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn, MAGIC HORNET was tightened for room and checked.  RICHMOND ROAD and ADHARA STEEL, which were trailing, were checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, MAGIC HORNET was bumped by another runner and checked.  YOUI, which was trailing, improved onto that runner’s heels and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, ADHARA STEEL was tightened for room and checked.  Approaching the turn into the home straight, MAGIC HORNET checked out across heels.  YOUI, which was trailing, shifted out wider on the turn to avoid that runners heels. 

 

Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL PUBLICAN’S CUP 5TH GRADE HEAT 5 – 520M

 

BIG TURLS was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, BROTHER DESY was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, BIG TURLS checked off heels. REGAL RECALL raced wide in the front straight.

 

Race 11 - ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB PUBLICAN’S CUP 5TH GRADE HEAT 6 – 520M

 

HAY BILLY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, RINGBARK BELLA and SORRENTO were tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the first turn, SNOWBALL OTTO was tightened for room and hampered.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, RINGBARK BELLA checked off heels.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, SNOWBALL OTTO was tightened for room and hampered.  RINGBARK BELLA, which was trailing, was hampered as a consequence.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, RULE THE ROAD and ARCH RIVAL bumped and were hampered.  Rounding the turn into the home straight, SORRENTO checked off heels.

 

Race 12 – FAREWELL PAUL DOLAN MA5 – 520M

 

ARDEN STREET was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, YO VALE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, ARDEN STREET checked off heels.  Rounding the turn into the home straight, ONE DOLLAR was tightened for room and checked.  WAHWAH TIGGY, which was trailing, shifted out to avoid that runners’ heels.
