Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ASSEST BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 331M

 

Leaving the back straight, GRUNGLE’S BRIDE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the front straight, NAN’S MAGIC was tightened for racing room, checked across the heels of DIAMOND SAND and collided with MOCHACHINI MAN, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound MAGIC PLANK underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN – 520M

 

The “All Clear” was delayed to allow stewards’ the opportunity to review the official race footage to ascertain whether any greyhounds’ chances in the event, were materially affected by the placement of the lure.  After reviewing all official footage it was determined that no greyhounds’ chances were materially affected and the “All Clear” was given.

 

Shortly after the start, CASH TRAIL and KENDALL collide.  FANCY THAT GOLD and HARA’S SHADOW were checked as a result of this incident and lost ground.  Shortly after, VAL’S BOY, CASH TRAIL and KENDALL all collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, CASH TRAIL checked across heels and lost ground.  In the back straight, BLUE FLYER and HE’S SCANDALOUS collide.  Leaving the back straight, HE’S SCANDALOUS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Mr Steven Scott, the trainer of HE’S SCANDALOUS was questioned in regards to the greyhounds actions at various stages of the event.  After considering all available evidence, HE’S SCANDALOUS was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

 

Race 3 – UBET TAPPY NOVICE – 520M

 

Shortly after the start, HOPE SAID and DOUBLE TAKE collide.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight, HOPE SAID improved onto the heels of ISDORA FROSTED, resulting in that greyhound to be checked and to lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, HOPE SAID shifted out, which hampered the running of DOUBLE TAKE.    Rounding the turn out of the back straight, DOUBLE TAKE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the front straight, RED HOT GOSSIP checked across heels and lost ground. 

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 0-3 WINS – 600M

 

Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion, HOT EMBER and RED HOT SPUR collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Entering the front straight, HOT EMBER and AGENT’S CHOICE collide.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, RED HOT SPUR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 5 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5TH GRADE (1) – 520M

 

BEE SOLO shifted in shortly after the start.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, MAHONEY, HARA’S REBEL and INDIVIDUAL RICHY were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, MAHONEY and INDIVIDUAL RICHY collide.  Leaving the back straight, BEE SOLO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound INDIVIDUAL RICHY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near fore toe and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS 5TH GRADE (2) – 520M

 

HARA’S DAZZA was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, UNO UNO and BARBARELLA were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, LITTLE EDDIE shifted out and checked the running of UNO UNO, BARBARELLA and HARA’S DAZZA.

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTGRAPHY MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 600M

 

Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion, BIG HERO SIX was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with NURBURG, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  SORRENTO and ALPHA CHAOS were both checked as a result of this incident and lost ground.

 

The greyhound FLYAWAY BARB underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – MOLLY CAMPBELL SILVER DOLLARS OPEN FINAL – 520M

 

Rounding the turn out of the front straight, TOO GOOD JOOG was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  At the same time, CRUEL SEA collided with RINGBARK BELLA, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  DAM SLIPPERY was checked as a result of this incident and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, RIO BRAVE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, CRUEL SEA turned its head and marred the running of DAM SLIPPERY. 

 

The greyhound CRUEL SEA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound CRUEL SEA, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 28 days, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial at Albion Park, over a distance of 520m, prior to racing.

 

Race 9 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MIXED 3/*4TH GRADE – 520M

 

KALANI KARL stumbled shortly after the start and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight, IZY GOLD and DAZE LIKE THESE were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, SILVER STUNNER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, IZY GOLD checked across heels and collided with SILVER STUNNER, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, SILVER STUNNER and IZY GOLD collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be momentarily hampered. 

 

Race 10 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE MA5 – 395M

 

LADY PERLITA was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, LADY PERLITA shifted out, which checked the running of CORY’S DIAMOND and FRUIT ZAFONIC.  In the front straight, CORY’S DIAMOND and FRUIT ZAFONIC collide.

 

Race 11 – THE MANLY HOTEL MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

Through the 1st turn, NIGHT TIME LOVER and EARLY SETTLER collide.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, FARCELONA FENIX shifted out, which hampered the running of MISS AMELIA. In the front straight during the later stages of the race, EL NUNU improved onto the heels of DOUBLE OAK.

 

The greyhound EL NUNU underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind foot and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 12 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS 5TH GRADE – 395M

 

Through the 1st turn, OIL SPILL and WE KNOW were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after, SLEEK STYL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  VAQUERO and LILY’S BEAN, which were trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground.
