Race 1 – UBET TAPPY MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 331M
HARA’S HUSTLE was best
to begin, FULL IMPACT was marginally slow.
Approaching the turn out of the back straight, STEAMY NIGHT improved
onto the heels of HARA’S HUSTLE and shifted out with both greyhounds losing
momentum as a result. FULL IMPACT, which
was trailing, shifted wide through the turn out of the back straight, and
continued to race wide approaching the turn into the front straight. Entering the front straight, FULL IMPACT
improved onto the rear of HARA’S HUSTLE then collided with that greyhound, causing
both greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a result.
The greyhound FULL
IMPACT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 331M
BOSTON FLAME was best
to begin, WARM FEELING was slow. Shortly
after the start, LOW IMPACT was impeded and lost ground. Approaching the turn after the back straight,
REDEAL improved onto the heels of BOSTON FLAME losing significant ground as a
result. YAPPER BLISS raced wide through
the turn out of the back straight.
Stewards’ delayed the “All Clear” after the completion of
Race 2 so that the race footage could be reviewed.
The
greyhound BOSTON FLAME underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE – 331M
RUN
MONTY RUN and LADY OPAL were both best to begin, SOX THE FOX was slow. Approaching the turn into the back straight,
MISTER MORK was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the turn out of the back straight,
REGAL REGARD and PENUMBRA checked. At the turn into the front straight, REGAL
REGARD deviated its attention towards PENUMBRA, which was racing to its
outside, and made muzzle contact with that greyhound. Shortly after, LADY OPAL improved onto the
rear of MISTER MORK, became unbalanced and lost ground.
The
greyhound REGAL REGARD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Connection
to the greyhound, REGAL REGARD, was advised that the greyhound would be charged
under Rule 69 Marring 1st offence, with the greyhound to be stood
down for a period of 28 days, and would be required to perform a satisfactory stewards’
trial, over a distance of 331m, prior to racing.
Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5TH GRADE – 331M
Even
start. In the back straight, FANTA POP
checked off heels and lost ground. TRUMP
VEGAS, which was trailing, collided into FANTA POP with both greyhounds losing
considerable ground as a result.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, MERLIN’S MAID eased and
lost substantial ground as a consequence.
The
greyhound MERLIN’S MAID underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down
for a period of 10 days.
Connection
to the greyhound, MERLIN’S MAID, was advised that the greyhound would be
charged under Rule 69B Failing to Pursue with Injury 1st offence,
with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 10 days, and would be
required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 331m,
prior to racing.
Race 5 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS MIXED 3/4TH GRADE –
331M
WHITE
OX was best to begin, DIAMOND SAND was slow.
In the 1st turn, FABULOUS WALL was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. In the back straight, FABULOUS WALL commenced to yield
ground and took no further competitive part in the race. Approaching the turn out of the back straight,
JACKO VALLEY collided heavily into the rear of FABULOUS WALL and lost substantial
ground as a result. Shortly after,
DIAMOND SAND checked with FABULOUS WALL and also lost significant ground.
The
greyhound FABULOUS WALL underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the near hind back muscle and was stood
down for a period of 28 days.
Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 4/5TH
GRADE – 395M
MISS
AMELIA and FERNVALE RUBY were both best to begin, COMETRON FLYER was marginally
slow. In the 1st turn, IRON
MONARCH, BAZAAR MCKENZIE and IRONBAR RICKY came together and checked, causing
IRON MONARCH and IRONBAR RICKY to lose considerable ground. COMETRON FLYER raced wide through the 1st
turn. Leaving the turn in the front straight, IRON MONARCH and IRONBAR RICKY
checked.
Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY BEST 8 – 395M
ARABELLA
EMJAY was best to begin, CORY’S DIAMOND was slow. In the 1st turn, STUEY was
tightened for racing room, impeded and lost momentum. At the same time, ARABIAN GO GO was also
tightened for racing room, impeded and lost momentum.
Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM BEST 8 – 331M
LID PINGER and TRISHAN
VALLEY were both marginally slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, PEBBLE BAY was tightened for racing room and
lost ground. Approaching the turn out of
the back straight, RATTLESNAKE CAFÉ was impeded and lost momentum. TRISHAN VALLEY raced wide through the turn into
the front straight.
The greyhound
RATTLESNAKE CAFE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found.
The greyhound MAD GIRL
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.
Race 9 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE MIXED 4/5TH
GRADE – 331M
Even start. In the 1st turn, ABELE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost significant ground as a
consequence. ABELE and TUNDRA STORM
raced tight and bumped over the concluding stages of the race.
Race 10 – SKY RACING MA5 – 331M
BETTA BE QUICK was best
to begin. GO THE SPOILS was slow. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight, SPICE BUCKET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. GO THE SPOILS raced wide through the turn
into the front straight, and continued to race wide for the remainder of the
race.
Race 11 – ZILLMERE SPORTS 5PW – 331M
IRON MAID was best to
begin, ZABDON MCGREGOR and GRUNGLE’S BRIDE were both marginally slow. Shortly after the start, WAY TO WITCHES was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground. GRUNGLE’S BRIDE, which was trailing, collided
into WAY TO WITCHES and lost substantial ground as a consequence. Approaching the
turn out of the back straight, IRON MAID improved onto the heels of KRYPTONITE
JAKE, causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and lose ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
IRON MAID shifted out and checked into KRYPTONITE JAKE, became severely
unbalanced and lost significant ground.
Midway down the front straight, KOORINGA ERIN deviated its attention
towards ULLO BELLS, which was racing to its inside.
The greyhound KOORINGA
ERIN underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.

to the greyhound, KOORINGA ERIN, was advised that the greyhound would be
charged under Rule 69A Failing to Pursue 1st offence, with the
greyhound to be stood down for a period of 28 days, and would be required to
