Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 395M

 

MODERN GODDESS and CROCODILE TEARS were best to begin, with MARVISTA and BOONIE EILEEN slow.  Entering the back straight, STEWY’S MAGIC and BIG MAN RUSTY raced tight, causing STEWY’S MAGIC to fall and give no further competitive part in the race, BIG MAN RUSTY to lose ground, and resulting in BONNIE EILEEN to be checked.

 

The greyhound BIG MAN RUSTY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound STEWY’S MAGIC underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 395M

 

Even start, with STRAIT RUM and ISNT SHE SPECIAL marginally slow.  Leaving the back straight, CROCODILE SMILE and ISNT SHE SPECIAL raced tight, at the same time, VINI VILLA collided with WILD MAN, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

 

The greyhound WILD MAN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound VINI VILLA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

 

Race 3 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 331M

 

Even strart, with REGAL EMERALD marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, BRIGHT SATELLITE and BLOZA raced tight.  Rounding the turn of the front straight, BRIGHT SATELLITE clipped heels, in the front straight, BRIGHT SATELLITE raced wide. 

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE – 395M

 

Even start, with STAR STORY and ABOUT READY marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, STAR STORY, SMILING BLONDE and SWIFT STORY all raced tight, causing SMILING BLONDE and SWIFT STORY to lose ground.   Entering the back straight, MISTER MORK got onto the heels of STAR STORY, causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  Leaving the back straight, STAR STORY, MISTER MORK and ABOUT READY collided, causing MISTER MORK to fall and give no further competitive part in the race, and ABOUT READY to lose ground.

 

The greyhound MISTER MORK underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

 

Race 5 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 395M

 

Even start.  Shortly after the start, MISS OSPREY, FIVE GALLON HAT and TORAH SPRITE raced tight.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, TORAH SPRITE got onto the hindquarters of FIVE GALLON HAT.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, TORAH SPRITE clipped the heels of POPPYCOCK, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.   In the front straight, MISS OSPREY raced wide.

 

Race 6 – FABERGAS @ STUD 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 395M

 

Even start, with BILLY WHO marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, NAN’S MAGIC and REGAL JADE collided.  Entering the back straight, BILLY WHO clipped heels.  Leaving the back straight, COOKIE NO CREAM got onto the heels of INVICTUS CLIVE, causing REGAL JADE and BILLY WHO to be checked, resulting in INVICTUS CLIVE, REGAL JADE and NAN’S MAGIC to lose ground. 

 

Race 7 – BOX1PHOTOGRAPHY.COM 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 395M

 

SWEET TALKING was best to begin, with SAID BILLY marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, KINGSBRAE HARLEY clipped the heels of ALWAYS ALBURY, causing ALWAYS ALBURY to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, TEN GALLON HAT and KINGSBRAE HARLEY collided.  In the front straight, SAID BILLY turned its head inwards making muzzle contact with KINGSBRAE HARLEY.

 

Connection to the greyhound, SAID BILLY, was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 2nd offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 3 months, and required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 395m, prior to racing

 

Race 8 – ZILLMERE SPORTS 5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Even start with GALWAY JOHANN marginally slow. in the 1st turn NURBURG and STEAL A KISS collided causing DARBY’S GIRL and GALWAY JOHANN to be checked. Leaving the back straight GALWAY JOHANN and NURBURG collided causing NURBURG to lose ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight CALYPSO BAY clipped the heels of NURBURG causing NURBURG to lose ground.

 

The greyhound NURBURG underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
