Race Reports
Prior to
race 1, all races were put back a race because of mechanical issues with the
lure.
Race 1 – UBET TAPPY
MAIDEN – 520M
BLUE FLYER was best to begin, STRAIT RUM was slow. JETT MAN was tightened for racing room
shortly after the start and lost momentum.
Approaching the 1st turn, JETT MAN stumbled and then shifted
out and collided into STRAIT RUM, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. In the 1st turn, BLUE FLYER and
DUSTY DELIGHT raced tight and checked.
Approaching the turn into the back straight, BLUE FLYER checked off
heels and lost ground. Shortly after,
BLUE FLYER collided with VAL’S BOY, with both greyhounds losing significant
ground.
Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL NOVICE – 520M
ALPHA HEMERA was best
to begin, ABOUT READY was slow. Leaving
the 1st turn, LAST DRINK and PALLINGTON raced tight and checked,
causing both greyhounds to lose momentum.
ABOUT READY raced wide through the turn into the front straight.
The greyhound KENDALL
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.
The greyhound ABOUT
READY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 7
days.
Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5TH GRADE
HEAT 1 – 520M
UNO UNO was best to
begin. In the 1st turn, CRAZY
EMJAY was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground. Leaving the turn into the back straight, HAZE
PURPLE and VISION OF LOVE raced tight and checked, causing VISION OF LOVE to
lose momentum. Approaching the turn out
of the back straight, EBONY MIST checked off heels and lost ground. Leaving the turn out of the back straight,
EBONY MIST was impeded and lost momentum.
Leaving the turn into the front straight, EBONY MIST, CRAZY EMJAY and
VISION OF LOVE all raced tight and checked, causing those greyhounds to lose
ground. MISTER BELUCHI shifted in and
impeded UNO UNO over the concluding stages of the race.
Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 –
520M
CHELSEA
and IRISH RIPPLE checked immediately after the start, causing IRISH RIPPLE to
lose momentum. Midway down the front
straight, on the 1st occasion, IRISH RIPPLE shifted in and checked
off the rear of CHELSEA, losing momentum as it did. ZAHARA DYE and BARBARELLA raced tight and
bumped on numerous occasions approaching the 1st turn. ZAHARA DYE and BARBARELLA checked at the 1st
turn, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground. IRISH RIPPLE and SWEET TALKING raced tight
and bumped over the concluding stages of the race.
Stewards’
questioned licensed trainer, Mr Jamie Hosking, regarding the improved performance
of the greyhound TRIPLE CROWN FOX. Mr
Hosking stated the greyhound had been hampered before the 1st turn
in its last two (2) previous runs, and in his opinion, tonight it’s shown its
true potential. Mr Hosking further
stated, that he was impressed by the greyhounds’ performances at Ipswich, prior
to its runs here at Albion Park.
Race 5 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MIXED 4/5TH GRADE –
331M
ZULU BEAT and LET’S GO
FABIO were best to begin, POLLYS MAID was slow.
In the 1st turn, BRIGHT SATELLITE was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground. In the
turn out of the back straight, BRIGHT SATELLITE checked off the heels of PLUM
JAM and lost significant ground.
Approaching the turn into the front straight, CASH FLOW JOE shifted out,
causing BRIGHT SATELLITE, which was trailing, to check off heels, shift wide
and lose substantial ground as a consequence.
Leaving the turn into the front straight, PLUM JAM checked off heels and
lost ground. Midway down the front
straight, ZULE BEAT shifted in and impeded MAGIC PLANK, which in turn shifted
out and lost momentum as it did.
The greyhound BRIGHT
SATELLITE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 6 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS 0-3 WINS – 600M
WHIPPY MIDGET was best
to begin. In the 1st turn,
SURGENIE shifted wide, causing HARA’S DAZZA, which was racing to its outside,
to also go wide with those two greyhounds losing momentum as a result. Approaching the turn out of the front
straight, WHIPPY MIDGET checked off heels, stumbled and lost considerable
ground as a result. Leaving the turn
into the back straight, ONE FOR MICK checked off heels and lost considerable
ground. Leaving the turn into the front
straight, ONE FOR MICK and NURBURG raced tight, checked, and lost momentum as a
result. ONE FOR MICK and NURBURG raced
tight and bumped on multiple occasions over the concluding stages of the race.
Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MA5 – 395M
ALOTA DAGZ was best to
begin. The entire field, with the
exception of ALOTA DAGZ, raced tight and checked at the 1st turn,
with TWIN GALAXY and ODESSA losing significant ground as a result. Approaching the turn into the front straight,
BUTTON PUSHER was impeded and shifted wide.
Leaving the turn into the front straight, ALOTA DAGZ shifted wide, which
further impeded BUTTON PUSHER.
The greyhound ODESSA
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.
Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MIXED 4/5TH
GRADE – 395M
PENDITA was slow to
begin. The field, with the exception of
ONE DOLLAR and SANDLER, checked at the 1st turn, with PENDITA and
BELLA CETTE losing significant ground as a result.
Race 9 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE BEST 8 – 395M
NEVER A DOUBT was very
slow to begin. PANTERA NEGRA, ARNHEM
MAYHEM and ARABIAN GO GO all raced tight and checked through the 1st
turn, with all losing ground as a result.
Leaving the turn into the back straight, I’M GLAD improved onto the rear
of ARABELLA EMJAY, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight, PANTERA NEGRA checked off heels and lost ground. Shortly after, PANTERA NEGRA was impeded,
checked off heels and lost significant ground.
Leaving the turn into the front straight, ARNHEM MAYHEM and ARABELLA
EMJAY checked.
The greyhound PANTERA
NEGRA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 10 – THE MANLY HOTEL 5TH GRADE – 331M
SHE’S MY LADY and
SMASHNIAK BATMAN were best to begin, POPPYCOCK and MAZZA were slow. In the 1st turn, UNIQUE LEIGH
checked off heels and lost ground.
Approaching the top turn, UNIQUE LEIGH checked off heels and lost
substantial ground as a result. Shortly after,
MAZZA checked off heels and lost considerable ground. Leaving the turn into the front straight,
POPPYCOCK checked off heels, shifted out sharply, and collided heavily into
SATIN LUSTRE, then fell, taking no further competitive part in the race. SATIN LUSTRE was severely inconvenienced as a
result of this contact, and lost substantial ground.
The greyhound POPPYCOCK
underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found.
The greyhound SATIN
LUSTRE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have
sustained an injury to the near hip support and was stood down for a period of
7 days.
