Race 1 – BRISGREYS ON INSTAGRAM | NOVICE | 520m
BONNIE EILEEN was slow to begin. In the front straight on the first occasion PASSING NOVA was tightened for room and checked. Approaching the turn out of the front straight, WAZZA SAID was tightened for room, checked and shifted outwards colliding with CLASSY ARIA resulting in both runners to lose ground. BONNIE EILEEN which was trailing, checked off those runners heels. Through the turn into the back straight PASSING NOVA collided with MY GIRL YESSAM resulting in both runners to be checked and lose ground. BONNIE EILEEN which was trailing, checked off those runners heels. In the back straight PASSING NOVA was tightened for room and checked. Approaching the turn out of the back straight, PASSING NOVA was tightened for room and checked. BONNIE EILEEN which was trailing, checked off that runners heels.
Race 2 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND | MA5 | 520m
HARA’S HOOK and MILLION DOLLAR were slow to begin. In the front straight on the first occasion, PRATER’S PROMISE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Approaching the turn out of the front straight, EBONNE was tightened for room and checked. SON OF BETTY, HARA’S HOOK, PRATER’S PROMISE, CALYPSO BAY and MILLION which were trailing were all checked to varying degrees as a consequence. Rounding the turn out of the back straight, HARA’S HOOK checked off heels and lost ground. CALYPSO BAY which was trailing, improved onto that runners heels and was also checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight CALYPSO BAY and MILLION DOLLAR bumped and were hampered.
Race 3 – SKY RACING | MIXED 4/5 | 520m
ALPHA LUCKY was declared a late scratching at 4:52pm under GAR.39 for a weight variation of +1.2kg which was +0.2kg more than permitted. Trainer C. Georgiou was fined the sum of $50.
HAY BILLY and KULU CHANCE were slow to begin. Approaching the turn out of the front straight, DAZE LIKE THESE and MYONA MORPHEUS were tightened for room and checked. Shortly after, PYRO BOB was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Rounding the turn into the back straight, DAZE LIKE THESE commenced to give ground and tailed off from the field.
DAZE LIKE THESE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a dislocation to a left front toe and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
Race 4 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND | GRADE 5 | 600m
All runners with the exception of INFRARED LAD and SHE’S SOME GAL were tightened for room, checked and lost ground to varying degrees. Rounding the turn into the front straight on the first occasion BRITTANY TALKS was tightened for room and checked. Approaching the turn into the back straight FLYAWAY BARB was bumped by another runner and checked. DOUBLE GEE which was trailing, checked off that runners heels.
Race 5 – RQ YOUNG GUNS HEAT 1 | OPEN | 520m
RASHEDA and RISING BEYOND were slow to begin. DUSTY DELIGHT began awkwardly and was very slow to begin. Shortly after the start ARE JAY LOCHIE was tightened for room and checked. Approaching the turn out of the front straight ARE JAY LOCHIE out across heels and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight REGAL JADE checked off heels and collided with INDIVIDUAL RICHY resulting in that runner wider and to lose ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight RASHEDA was bumped by another runner and momentarily hampered.
Race 6 – RQ YOUNG GUNS HEAT 2 | OPEN | 520m
GALWAY JOHANN and DAM SLIPPERY were slow to begin. BLUE JILLEM and FRAN’S BONUS were very slow to begin. Shortly after the start IRISH RIPPLE was tightened for room, checked and lost ground. GALWAY JOHANN which was trailing was checked as a consequence. Through the turn into the back straight DAM SLIPPERY was bumped on several occasions by other runners and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the home straight SWEET TALKING was tightened for room and checked. DAM SLIPPERY and FRAN’S BONUS were checked as a consequence.
Race 7 – RQ YOUNG GUNS HEAT 3 | OPEN | 520m
Shortly after the start EMULATING CHLOE was tightened for room and checked. Approaching the first turn CAPTAIN BLUE was tightened for room and checked. Entering the first turn SHAKEY DIESEL shifted outwards, contacting the hindquarters of CHELSEA resulting in both runners to be checked and lose ground. EMULTATING CHLOE which was trailing, checked outwards to avoid those runners’ heels. Through the turn into the back straight WAZZA WHO and FERNANDO BLASTER bumped on several occasions and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the home straight WAZZA WHO was tightened for room and checked. WILDASH JAZZY which was trailing, checked off that runners heels.
Race 8 – NEW YEAR’S TROPHY FINAL | OPEN | 520m
KULU JASPER was marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start FAST TIMES commenced to give ground and tailed off from the field. Entering the turn out of the front straight KULU JASPER was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the home straight MAURICE MINOR was tightened for room and checked.
FAST TIMES underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the stomach muscles and was stood down for a period of 21 days.
KULU JASPER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities were found.
Race 9 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD | MIXED 2/3 | 520m
ARDEN STREET was slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the back straight RICHMOND ROAD was tightened for room, checked and shifted outwards colliding with FABRIQUE resulting in both greyhounds to lose considerable ground. In the back straight RICHMOND ROAD was tightened for room and hampered. Through the turn into the home straight FABRIQUE improved onto the heels of SHOES TO FILL resulting in both runners to be hampered.
Race 10 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY | MIXED 3/4 | 520m
FIRST FIRE and INFRARED STAR were marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start MAN OF LEISURE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Approaching the turn out of the front straight WHEATACRE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Entering the turn out of the front straight AND YOU ARE shifted out across heels of COMANECI and collided with MAN OF LEISURE resulting in those runners to be severely checked. FIRST FIRE which was racing to their outside was checked as a consequence. WHEATACRE which was trailing was hampered as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the back straight AND YOU ARE was tightened for room and checked. Rounding the turn out of the back straight FIRST FIRE shifted inwards and collided with MAN OF LEISURE resulting in both runners to be checked. AND YOU ARE raced wide rounding the turn into the home straight. ALL ABOUT TIGER commenced to give ground over the concluding stages.
ALL ABOUT TIGER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and apparent injuries were found. When questioned on the performance, Trainer B. Hazelgrove expressed his disappointment in tonight’s’ run and stated that he would not be nominating the greyhound at 520m in the future. He further stated that the greyhound will continue its preparation to race at Capalaba on Sunday January 6. Mr Hazelgrove also indicated that he would look to nominate the greyhound for races at other venues and shorter distances in the future. Stewards noted his comments.
Race 11 – FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE | GRADE 5 | 520m
DOUBLE SPUR began awkwardly and was very slow to begin. Rounding the turn out of the front straight LET’S GO FABIO was bumped by another runner, shifted out and collided with ALPHA THEMIS resulting in both runners to be checked. Rounding the turn into the back straight LET’S GO FABIO checked off heels. Through the turn into the home straight IZY MAGIC checked off heels.
Race 12 – MARBURG HOTEL | MA5 | 520m
In the front straight on the first occasion AZA ZEUS commenced to give ground and took no further competitive part in the event. ADHARA STEEL which was trailing was hampered as a consequence. BLOZA raced wide in the back straight.
AZA ZEUS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the right pin muscle and was stood down for 21 days.
