Race Reports
Race 1 – TAB | MAIDEN | 395 M
Following the completion of the event, the all clear was delayed to afford stewards the opportunity to review the patrol footage with respect to whether LOCK’EM had its winning chance in the race material prejudiced. After viewing the patrol footage, stewards established that, on entering the back straight, LOCK’EM was struck by a bird and lost ground. Stewards were comfortably satisfied that LOCK’EM had its chances materially prejudiced in the event and subsequently declared the greyhound a non-starter acting under GAR56 (2) (B). The All Clear was given on the amended placings of 8, 2, 3, 4, and 1.
KORRINGA ZOE was slow to begin. In the back straight whilst leading LOCK’EM was struck by a bird and was checked as a consequence. Rounding into the turn out of the back straight STYLISH MAKEUP and CROCODILE TEARS collide resulting in both of those greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. In the front straight in the later stages of the race STYLISH MAKEUP, MIXED SPICE, IT ALL CHEEKY and LOCK’ EM all raced tight.
Race 2 – SKY RACING | MAIDEN | 395 M
TOKEN DELIGHT was slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the back straight TUTA SHERRY commenced to give ground. Entering the back straight RILEY ROO was tightened for racing room and lost ground. DANILO raced wide into the back straight. Mrs J Cauchi trainer’s representative of LADY FRANKIE was informed of stewards concerns with regards to that greyhounds actions in the later stages of the race, after considering all the evidence LADY FRANKIE was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.
TUTA CHERRY underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. TUTA CHERRY was stood down from racing to it completes a satisfactory trial.
Race 3 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND | NOVICE | 395 M
Entering the back straight ISN’T SHE JUST was tightened for racing room and lost ground.
Race 4 – MARBURG HOTEL | NOVICE | 395 M
Through the first turn RINGBARK ROSE, UNIQUE LEIGH an SUGAR BOY were all tightened for racing room and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight RINGBARK ROSE and UNIQUE LEIGH collide.
RINGBARK ROSE underwent a post-race examination which revealed it to have injured it’s near side hip support and was stood down from racing for a period of 10 days.
Race 5 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS | 5th Grade | 395 M
Shortly after start LAUGHING GEAR and TIGHT CIRCLE collide. Entering the front straight HAY HONEY checked across heels and collided with TOO GOOD JOOG resulting in both of those greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.
Race 6 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD | 5th GRADE | 395 M
Shortly after start OBLIVINATOR was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Entering the back straight BIG TRIGGER and OBLIVINATOR collide. In the back straight BIG TRIGGER, OBLIVINATOR and HUNTER KINSBRAE all collide, which resulted in all greyhounds losing ground. Leaving the front straight and through to the later stages of the race CALL ME AUSSIE improved on to the heels of KEEP ON GOING resulting in both of the greyhounds to lose ground.
Race 7 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND | P5 GRADE | 395 M
The start of this race was delayed when STANKY LEG proved difficult to be boxed. STANKY LEG was declared a hard box dog for its immediate racing in future. Shortly after start STANKY LEG was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Entering the back straight STANKY LEG and PARIS QUEEN collide. In the back straight TOOK A SELFIE and TAM’S GIRL collide.
Race 8 – FABREGAS @ STUD 4 /5 GRADE | 395 M
Through the first turn NAUGHTY MAX and ONE MUMMA were tightened for racing room and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight ONE MUMMA, SPRITELY BILL and NAUGHTY MAX were all tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the back straight POTENTIAL shifted out which checked the running of SPRITELY BILL. Approaching the turn into the front straight BRIGHTEST STAR improved onto the heels of ONE MUMMA resulting in that greyhound to be hampered.
ONE MUMMA underwent a post-race veterinary examination with no apparent injuries were found.
Race 9 – BOX1PHOTOGRAPHY.COM | 2 /3 GRADE | 395 M
Through the first turn NO CLYDE NEEDED was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the back straight NO CLYDE NEEDED was tightened for racing room and lost ground.
NO CLYDE NEEDED underwent a post-race veterinary examination with no apparent injuries were found.
Race 10 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM | 5th GRADE | 331 M
In the back straight PEGGALICIOUS was tightened for race room and lost ground. Leaving the back straight FABULOUS DAN was tightened for racing room and lost ground. ELLY BYE BYE which was racing to its outside was checked and lost ground.
