Race Reports
Race 1: TAB, Maiden – 395m
IT ALL CHEEKY dislodged its muzzle at the start. SHARP ASH was slow to begin. Entering the first turn KOORINGA ZOE and IT ALL CHEEKY collided and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight LAFAI improved onto the heels of MAGIC GYPSY resulting in both runners to be checked. Entering the back straight LAFAI checked off heels and lost ground. IT ALL CHEEKY which was trailing was checked as a consequence. Leaving the back straight IT ALL CHEEKY was tightened for room and checked.
Race 2: SKY RACING, Novice – 395m
SHIELD ME was tightened for room at the start and was subsequently slow to begin. Through the first turn FABULOUS DAN and COMBAL ZERO were tightened for room and checked. NOVEMBER FLAME, which was racing to their outside, was hampered as a consequence. Leaving the back straight NOVEMBER FLAME bumped with another runner and lost ground. SHIELD ME raced wide in the front straight.
Race 3: ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND, Novice – 395m
COOL WOMAN, MURPHY RUMBLE and BURRUM BOY were marginally slow to begin. Through the first turn all runners, with the exception of ISN’T SHE JUST and EMMAVILLE BELLA, were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees. STAR STORY and MURPHY RUMBLE lost considerable ground as a result of this incident. Leaving the back straight STARY STORY was tightened for room, checked and lost ground. STAR STORY raced wide in the front straight.
STAR STORY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no significant abnormalities were found.
Race 4: MARBURG HOTEL, Grade 5 – 520m
At the start RIPPLE RUMBLE was tightened for room and severely checked. In the front straight RIPPLE RUMBLE improved onto the heels of KOEIS PRIDE resulting in both runners to lose ground. Entering the turn out of the front straight, POTENTIAL and STARBURST BASSY collided and lost ground. STARBURST BASSY raced wide rounding the turn into the home straight. WAMBERAL BOY raced wide for a majority of the event.
Race 5: EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS Heat 1, Grade 5 – 395m
TOOK A FERGUS and NOAKI QUEEN were marginally slow to begin. At the start FARMOR IMAGE was tightened for room, severely checked and was very slow to begin. Through the first turn FUNNY FELOW, NEW STAR RISING and TOOK A FERGUS were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees. Entering the back straight FUNNY FELOW and FARMOR IMAGE were tightened for room and hampered. Rounding the turn into the front straight FARMOR IMAGE was bumped by another runner and lost ground. In the front straight NEW STAR RISING turned its head and made muzzle contact with another runner.
FUNNY FELOW underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the left hip support. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Trainer John Dart, the trainer of NEW STAR RISING, was advised that the greyhound would be stood down pursuant to GAR.69 for Marring. As this was the greyhounds’ first offence it would be stood down at Albion Park for a period of 28 days and must complete a satisfactory stewards’ trial before being permitted to race again.
Race 6: THIRTY TALKS @ STUD Heat 2, Grade 5 – 395m
MISSY FERGUS, BIG TRIGGER and WILBY ALLEN were slow to begin. Shortly after the start MAHONEY was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Entering the back straight KEEP GOING was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Shortly after NORTHERN GIRL and TOBY TRACKER collided and lost ground. MAHONEY, which was trailing, checked to avoid those runners’ heels. Leaving the back straight TOBY TRACKER improved onto the heels of KEEP ON GOING resulting in both runners to lose ground. WILBY ALLEN which was racing to their outside was hampered as a consequence. MAHONEY raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.
When questioned on the performance of MISSY FERGUS, trainer Lee Wylie stated that he attributed today’s performance to the greyhound coming back from a short spell, today’s sultry weather conditions and travel to the track. He further stated that he intends to nominate the greyhound for a similar event next week and will assess its racing program afterwards with the possibility of racing at Capalaba. MISSY FERGUS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no significant abnormalities were found.
Race 7: GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND Heat 3, Grade 5 – 395m
FARCELONA FENIX and TOOK A RHYNO were tightened for room at the start and subsequently slow to begin. Through the first turn, VIKING WHITE was tightened for room and severely checked. HUNTER KINGSBRAE, FARCELONA FENIX and TIME AND PLACE, which were trailing, were checked to varying degrees as a consequence. Entering the back straight FARCELONA FENIX was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Leaving the back straight TOOK A RHYNO was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight, HUNTER KINGSBRAE checked off heels.
Race 8: FABREGAS @ STUD Heat 4, Grade 5 – 395m
OBLIVINATOR was slow to begin. Shortly after the start HAY HONEY was tightened for room and hampered. Entering the back straight, HAY HONEY was bumped by another runner and severely checked. REGAL REPORT, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence. Rounding the turn out of the back straight, QUITE SINCERE was tightened for room and checked. BRIGHTEST STAR, which was racing to its outside, was hampered as a consequence.
Race 9: BOX1PHOTOGRAPHY, Mixed 3/4 – 395m
Rounding the turn into the back straight ZINCHENKO and BLUE TEXADA collided and lost ground. ROSEALIE WHO, which was racing to their outside, was hampered as a consequence. Leaving the back straight, TOOKA TRIP was tightened for room and severely checked. ROSEALIE WHO, which was trailing, improved onto that runners heels resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. ZINCHENKO raced wide for a majority of the event.
ROSEALIE WHO underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no significant abnormalities were found.
TOOKA TRIP underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left hind foot. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Race 10: GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM, Mixed 4/5 – 331m
Shortly after the start BRAYSTONES BEACH and BOGAN FLYER were tightened for room and checked.
Summary Scratchings: Race 4: CLASSY ARIA, Right Groin, 10 days.

Trial 1 NEVER WALK ALONE, Trialed satisfactorily in a time of 30.46 over 520m. The greyhound is now permitted to start in an event.
