Race Reports

 

Race 1 – MARBURG HOTEL  NOVICE  520 M

 

ABOUT READY and STRAIT RUM were best to begin. Leaving the front straight UNIQUE LEIGH improved on the heels of LADY FRANKIE resulting in that greyhound to be checked, STRAIT RUM, COYBIG, LAST DRINK and HARA’S SURF which were all trialing where  checked as a consequence and lost ground. Entering the back straight HARA’S SURF was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight BULLAROO FLASH checked off heels and lost ground. STRAIT RUM which was racing to its outside which was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Leaving the front straight BULLAROO FLASH was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

BULLAROO FLASH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

HARA’S SURF underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – BRISGREYS ON INSTAGRAM  MAIDEN 5  395 M

 

BIG TURLS was tightened for racing room shortly after start and lost ground. Through the first turn AIR TIME was tightened for racing room and lost ground. In the back straight BIG TURLS was tightened for racing room and lost ground. AIR TIME which was trialing was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight AIR TIME was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight AIR TIME and SCIPO AFRICANUS collide on a number of occasions resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

AIR TIME underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND  4 /5 GRADE  395 M

 

FLASH MAGIC and TOMMY’S BEACH were slow to begin. Shortly after start CRAZY EMJAY and WHEATACRE collide. Through the first turn TOMMY’S BEACH was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Entering the back straight WHEATACRE and FLASH MAGIC collide resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

FLASH MAGIC underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any abnormalities, when questioned over the performance MR T. Apap said the greyhound was having its first start since  a spell and had some issues in the past and was raced sparingly and this was its first race start at Albion Park. He said FLASH MAGIC had trialed well leading up to the race and expected a forward showing. He further stated that FLASH MAGIC would continue its racing in North Queensland.

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD  4 / 5 GRADE  600 M

 

Approaching the turn into the front straight on the first occasion INFRARED LAD and EBONY MIST raced tight. Entering the back straight EBONY MIST raced tight and lost ground.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Race 5 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS  R / W GRADE  600 M

 

Approaching the turn into the front straight on the first occasion ELUSIVE STAR improved onto the heels of VELOCITY MELINKA resulting in both greyhounds to lose ground. In the front straight on the first occasion ELUSIVE STAR and ONE FOR MICK collide on a number of occasions resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight BLUE FLYER commenced to give ground to eventually retire from the race. ELUSIVE STAR and ONE FOR MICK which were both trialing checked as a result of this incident and lost ground.

BLUE FLYER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injured its off hind hock and was humanely euthanized.

 

Race 6 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY  BT8 GRADE  395 M

 

Shortly after start REGAL WAZ was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Entering the back straight REGAL WAZ checked across heels and lost ground. HALL PASS which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight ALBURY WAY was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

Race 7 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM  4 / 5 GRADE  520 M

 

GENIE’S GIRL slipped on the mat shorty after start and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight MY WINDSONG was tightened for racing room shifted out which hampered the running of EMULATING CHLOE and UNO UNO. Approaching the turn into the front straight VISIGOTH was tightened for racing room checked and lost ground.

 

Race 8 – FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5th Grade F  5th GRADE  520 M

 

Shortly after start ABSOLUTELY FAB was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Leaving the front straight FELICI BEACH was tightened for racing room and lost ground. ABSOLUTELY FAB and KULU OZZIE which were trailing were checked as a result of this incident and lost considerable ground. IZY MAGIC which was also trailing was severely checked fell and took no further part in the race.

IZY MAGIC  underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injured its off fore leg and was humanely euthanized.

 

Race 9 – ZILLMERE SPORTS  3 /4 GRADE  331 M

 

SPIRITELY BOB and KULU JASPER were slow to begin. In the back straight MUTANT and I’M GLAD collide resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Leaving the back straight MUTANT and I’M GLAD collide resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight MUTANT and SPRITELY BOB collide resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

Race 10 – SKY RACING  5 GRADE  331 M

 

Entering the back straight VAQUERO and GITCHA ALLEY were tightened for racing room and lost ground. BRAYSTONES BEACH was trailing and as a consequence lost ground. Shortly after BRAYSTONES BEACH was tightened for racing room and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight VAQUERO shifted out which checked the running of CALL ME AUSSIE and GITCHA ALLEY.
