Race 1: SKY RACING Novice – 520m

PROVOKER, ROVER’S WAY, FAB TO FLY and EYE HATE CAKE were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, FAB TO FLY shifted inwards and tightened the running of ROVER’S WAY and PROVOKER resulting in those runners to be checked and to lose ground. In the front straight on the first occasion, VEOCITY MELINKA was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Through the turn into the back straight, ROVER’S WAY checked off heels. EYE HATE CAKE raced wide rounding the turn out of the front straight and into the back straight. Rounding the turn into the home straight, ROVER’S WAY was bumped by other runners on a number of occasions and lost ground.

Race 2: ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND Masters 5^th Grade – 520m

BIG TURLS, BELVEDERE BABE, SON OF BETTY and MUTANT were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, AND YOU ARE was tightened for room and then checked in across heels. Leaving the front straight COMANECI was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Rounding the turn out of the front straight, BELVEDERE BABE collided with MUTANT resulting in that runner to be momentarily hampered and BELVEDERE BABE to be severely checked. Rounding the turn into the back straight, BIG TURLS collided with AND YOU ARE resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked. BELVEDERE BABE, which was racing to their outside, was checked as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the home straight, MUTANT was bumped by another runner and lost ground. BELVEDERE BABE raced wide in the home straight.

Race 3: THIRTY TALKS @ STUD – 520m

In the front straight, PETA GLEDHILL and CARIBBEAN RED collided and were severely checked. Out of the front straight, SOFT SAND improved onto the heels of another runner and lost ground. CAN’T POSSIBLY shifted out wide on the turn at this point. Out of the back straight, KEALOAH was tightened for room, was severely checked and lost ground. SOFT SAND, which was trailing, collided with that runner, was checked and lot ground.

Race 4: BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY Mixed 3/4 Grade – 520m

MISTER BELUCHI, ARDEN STREET, LOCH FREDDIE and SONIC THUNDER were slow to begin. Through the turn into the back straight, ARDEN STREET checked off heels. Out of the back straight, LOCH FREDDIE and ARDEN STREET were tightened for room and momentarily hampered.

LOCH FREDDIE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the nearside hock. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Race 5: MARBURG HOTEL 5^th Grade (Heat 1) – 520m

VELOCITY AGNETHA began awkwardly and BILLY BOY was marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start, LOGAN’S RUN and VELOCITY AGNETHA bumped, resulting in LOGAN’S RUN to be hampered and VELOCITY AGNETHA was checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight, ALONSO MORNAY was tightened for room and checked. Rounding the turn into the home straight, SHIELD ME was bumped by another runner and lost ground.

Race 6: TAB 5^th Grade (Heat 2) – 520m

RULE THE ROAD was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, TORAH SPRITE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. In the front straight, MAHONEY bumped with GYPSY WILD, was severely checked and lost ground. TORAH SPRITE, which was trailing, improved onto the heels of MAHONEY and was hampered. Out of the front straight, SPIRIT RIVER checked out across heels, and bumped MAN OF LEISURE. GYPSY WILD which was trailing, was checked as a consequence. Rounding the turn out of the front straight, SPIRIT RIVER checked off heels. Rounding the turn into the back straight, RULE THE ROAD and TORAH SPRITE checked off heels and lost ground. Out of the back straight RULE THE ROAD and GYPSY WILD bumped and were momentarily hampered. MAHONEY raced wide for a majority of the event.

MAHONEY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the nearside pin muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Race 7: GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM 5^th Grade – 600m

SLICK, VISIGOTH and ROCKFORD were slow to begin. Out of the front straight, RUN WITH FAITH, clipped the heels of another runner and lost ground. BRITTANY TALKS and ROCKFORD, which were trailing, were severely checked as a consequence. Out of the back straight, ROCKFORD checked off heels.

Race 8: FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5^th Grade – 710m

Shortly after the start FIRST FIRE was tightened for room and hampered. Out of the back straight on the first occasion, ROCKY SPIES was tightened for room and checked, then shifted out and collided with GELANTIPY GOLD resulting in that runner to be checked also. BIG BAD BOB, which was racing to the outside of those runners, was hampered as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the front straight, FIRST FIRE gave ground from the field and retired from the event.

FIRST FIRE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a fracture to the offside hock and was humanely euthanised.

Race 9: ZILLMERE SPORTS Best 8 – 520m

WISE MISTY knuckled on jumping. HAY BILLY reared at the start and was slow to begin. In the front straight, WISE MISTY was tightened for room and hampered. Rounding the turn into the front straight, WISE MISTY and SHE’S SOME GAL collided and lost ground.

Race 10: TWITTER @BRISGREYS Masters 5^th Grade – 520m

Shortly after the start, all runners, with the exception of BRINDI CHOPPER and DEEJAY FRANKIE were tightened for room and checked to varying, when BRIGHTEST STAR shifted outwards. Out of the back straight, NOOREE DESSA checked off heels. Rounding the turn out of the back straight, STANKY LEG was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Through the turn into the home straight, EBONNIE checked off heels.
