Race 1 – SKY RACING | Novice | 520M
FAB TO FLY was best to begin. Shortly after the start, CALL ME ROXANNE and ISN’T SHE SPECIAL bumped. On entering the first turn, CALL ME ROXANNE was tightened for room and collided with BECKONING CANDLE, both runners were checked. A post-race veterinary examination of ISN’T SHE SPECIAL failed to reveal any abnormalities. When questioned into the seemingly disappointing performance of Isn’t She Special, Trainer T. Zammit advised stewards that he believed the interference suffered shortly after the start was key in tonight’s performance. Mr. Zammit added that the greyhound performs best from the lead and that he did support the greyhound in tonight’s event. Stewards noted Mr. Zammit’s comments.
Race 2 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND | MA5 | 520M COMANECI was best to begin. On entering the first turn, COMANECI was tightened for room and checked. Through the turn into the back straight, FRIENDZ and BRIGHTEST STAR bumped. Shortly after, BIG TURLS was tightened for room and hampered. Out of the back straight into the turn, BRIGHTEST STAR and FRIENDZ collided. Through the turn into the front straight, BIG TURLS checked in across heels. In the front straight, FRIENDZ and BRIGHTEST STAR collided.
Race 3 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD | MA5 | 520M Shortly after the start, BELLA CETTE and MANDELA collided. On entering the first turn, BELLA CETTE, MANDELA CLOUD and STANKY LEG all collided. Out of the back straight into the turn MANDELA CLOUD checked out across heels.
Race 4 – OBGA SUPADOG CUP | Grade 5 | 520M Approaching the first turn, ZENYATTA MISS improved onto heels and was hampered. Shortly after, SEDUCTIVE SMILE was tightened for room, checked, shifted in and collided with ZENYATTA MISS, which was checked. SPIRIT RIVER checked out across heels. On entering the back straight, ZENYATTA MISS collided with the running rail, shifted out and collided with SWEET TALKING. SEDUCTIVE SMILE, which was trailing, improved onto those runner’s heels and was checked. Out of the turn into the front straight, SPIRIT RIVER checked out across heels. A post-race veterinary examination of ZENYATTA MISS failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 5 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY | Grade 5 | 710M SORRENTO was slow to begin. Approaching the first turn, BRITTANY TALKS was tightened for room and checked. AGENT’S CHOICE and SORRENTO collided. Through the turn into the front straight, INFRARED LAD checked in across heels. Out of the front straight, TIMES A BONUS was tightened for room and hampered.
Race 6 – MARBURG HOTEL 5TH GRADE FINAL | Grade 5 | 520M NEVER WALK ALONE was best to begin. Shortly after the start, ALONSO MORNAY and MAN OF LEISURE were both tightened for room and checked. TOO GOOD JOOG was tightened for room and checked. Approaching the first turn, TOO GOOD JOOG was tightened for room and severely checked. ALONSO MORNAY and MAN OF LEISURE were forced out wider on the track. Through the turn into the back straight, HUNTER KINGSBRAE and BILLY BOY collided. Through the turn into the front straight, ALONSO MORNAY bumped the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination of TOO GOOD JOOG failed to reveal any abnormalities. A post-race veterinary examination of ALONSO MORNAY failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 7 – TAB | Mixed 3/4 | 520M MISTER BELUSHI was slow to begin. DAM SLIPPERY and MAGIC HORNET bumped at the start. Approaching the first turn, MAGIC HORNET was tightened for room and checked. RICHMOND ROAD, CARIBBEAN RED, MAGIC HORNET and MISTER BELUSHI all collided and were checked to varying degrees. Through the turn into the back straight, CARIBBEAN RED and MAGIC HORNET bumped. Through the turn into the front straight, PETA GLEDHILL was tightened for room and hampered.
Race 8 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM | Best 8 | 520M CALL ME UGO was best to begin. FERNANDO BLASTER was slow to begin. Approaching the first turn, ALL RUNNERS with the exception of CALL ME UGO and REGAL TOPAZ collided and were checked to varying degrees. Through the turn into the back straight, SHOT CLOCK checked out across heels. On entering the back straight, AMBER MARIE improved onto heels and was checked. Through the turn into the front straight, ARABIAN GO GO and SHOT CLOCK bumped.
Race 9 – FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE | Grade 5 | 600M VISIGOTH was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, EBONY MIST was tightened for room and hampered. In the front straight, WISE MISTY and FINAL CHALICE bumped on a number of occasions. Out of the front straight into the turn, EBONY MIST checked out across heels. Shortly after, FINAL CHALICE checked out across heels. Through the turn into the back straight, FINAL CHALICE, VISIGOTH and SHE’S SOME GAL all collided, SHE’S SOME GAL was severely checked. Through the turn into the front straight, VISIGOTH and WISE MISTY bumped on a number of occasions. On entering the front straight, VISIGOTH checked out across heels. Over the concluding stages, SLICK checked out across heels.
Race 10 – ZILLMERE SPORTS | Mixed 4/5 | 520M WAZZA WHO began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, ALPHA ULYSSES checked in across heels. On entering the first turn, SONIC THUNDER checked out across heels and lost significant ground. EMPIRE STATE and SOFT SAND were forced wide on the track. Through the turn into the front straight, SOFT SAND checked out across heels. A post-race veterinary examination of SONIC THUNDER revealed the greyhound had sustained an injury to the off wrist and was subsequently stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 11 – TWITTER @BRISGREYS | Grade 5 | 520M TORAH SPRITE began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, NO CLYDE NEEDED shifted inwards tightening the running of LADY FRANKIE, OXLEY ONE, VISION OF LOVE and HOOT, which were all checked. Approaching the first turn, GYPSY WILD was tightened for room and hampered. Shortly after DOLCETTO HAYZE and NO CLYDE NEEDED collided. A post-race veterinary examination of LADY FRANKIE revealed the greyhound had sustained an injury to a near fore toe and was subsequently stood down for a period of 10 days. A post-race veterinary examination of TOO GOOD JOOG failed to reveal any abnormalities. |
