Race 1 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE NOVICE 520m
1 Extra Malt – checked off heels and became momentarily awkward losing its momentum when rounding the turn into the home straight and lost ground. When questioned kennel representative Graham Hall advised he was disappointed in the greyhounds’ performance particularly when unable to hold a position on the rail. He further added that he did not support the greyhound in tonight’s event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
2 Street Cry – checked and lost ground shortly after the start. Raced wide in the back straight.
3 Elegant Ruby – checked and lost ground shortly after the start.
4 Pokie Payout – momentarily hampered shortly after the start.
8 More – marginally slow to begin. Trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain to the nearside hip and the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.
Race 2 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MA5 520m
3 Amby's Dream – checked and lost ground shortly after the start. Checked out across heels when entering the first turn and lost ground.
4 Are Jay Junior – checked and lost ground shortly after the start. Clipped on the heels when entering the first turn and was momentarily hampered.
5 Clocked – checked and lost ground shortly after the start. Bumped and lost ground in the back straight.
6 Emmaville Bella – checked and lost ground in the front straight. Bumped and lost ground in the back straight.
8 Infrared Lad – marginally slow to begin.
Race 3 - ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE GOLDEN TICKET (G3) HEAT 1 OPEN 520m
1 Sentenced – checked off heels when entering the first turn.
5 Speranza – marginally slow to begin. Checked off heels when rounding the turn into the home straight.
7 Cooper Dooper – slow to begin.
Race 4 - ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GOLDEN TICKET (G3) HEAT 2 OPEN 520m
3 Hara's Clyde – shifted outwards when entering the first turn colliding with Magical Bill resulting in Hara’s Clyde to be severely checked and lose ground.
5 Magical Bill – collided with Hara’s Clyde, which shifted outwards when entering the first turn, resulting in Magical Bill to be checked and lose ground.
7 Cheap Wine – marginally slow to begin.
Race 5 - ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GOLDEN TICKET (G3) HEAT 3 OPEN 520m
3 Shakey Diesel – sustained an injury when rounding the turn into the back straight and subsequently tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside hock and the greyhound was stood down from racing for 90 days. Kennel representative Andrew Pearce was advised the greyhound must complete a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing again. Stewards will follow up on the outcome of a post-meeting veterinary examination. Update 27/01/21: Trainer Peter O’Reilly advised that Shakey Diesel had undergone successful surgery with an assessment at the end of a recovery period to determine its racing future.
5 It Ain't Billy – proved difficult to load. marginally slow to begin. Stewards declared the greyhound to be ‘Hard-To-Box’ and placed in first at its future starts.
7 Frieda Las Vegas - checked off heels when rounding the turn into the home straight. Momentarily hampered when rounding the turn into the back straight.
Race 6 - ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GOLDEN TICKET (G3) HEAT 4 OPEN 520m
1 Townson Beach – momentarily hampered when tightened for room when approaching the first turn and lost momentum.
3 Werina Express – checked across heels in the back straight.
7 Crazy Cool – slow to begin. Tightened for room, checked, and lost ground when rounding the turn into the back straight.
Race 7 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY GRADE 5 (1) 520m
3 Dynamic Bill – tightened for room and bumped with another runner when rounding the first turn, was checked and lost ground. Tightened for room, bumped the running rail, checked, and lost ground when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
4 More Than Magic – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground when approaching the first turn.
5 Stormy Shari – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground when approaching the first turn.
8 Regal Rocky – slow to begin. Bumped with another runner when rounding the first turn, was checked and lost ground. Checked off heels when rounding the turn out of the back straight and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
Race 8 - SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 520m
4 Flying Jet – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground when rounding the turn into the home straight.
7 Mrs. Sing – tightened for room when Kooringa Lucy shifted inwards when rounding the turn into the home straight resulting in Mrs. Sing to checked off heels and lose momentum.
8 Ninetymile King – slow to begin.
Race 9 - FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE FFA 710m
2 Waikarie Bell – slow to begin.
6 See Them Try – raced wide for most of the event.
Race 10 - SENNACHIE @ STUD - STEVE WHITE GRADE 5 600m
3 Fire Drill – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground through the first turn. Raced wide through the early and middle stages.
6 Galway Ludwig – tightened for room and momentarily hampered through the first turn.
8 Tribute To Dave – marginally slow to begin. Raced wide for most of the event.
Race 11 - TAB - LONG MAY WE PLAY GRADE 5 (2) 520m
1 Sheer Passion – momentarily hampered when approaching the first turn.
2 Lucky Duke – momentarily hampered when approaching the first turn.
3 In And Out – bumped with Jersey Lad, which shifted inwards on jumping, stumbling and losing ground. Tightened for room then checked out across heels losing ground when approaching the first turn. Checked off heels when leaving the back straight.
4 Jersey Lad – shifted inwards on jumping and bumped In And Out.
6 It Ain't Wazza – bounded on jumping away and lost ground. Clipped on the heels when approaching the first turn and was momentarily hampered.
8 Supreme Falcon - marginally slow to begin.
Race 12 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE GRADE 5 (3) 520m
3 Happy Hornet – checked off heels when approaching the first turn then shifted outwards and bumped another runner.
5 Javens – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground shortly after the start.
6 Lucky Jock – bumped with another runner when approaching the first turn and lost ground.
7 Maywyn Ulysses – marginally slow to begin.
8 Typhoon Sammy – sustained an injury through the first turn and took further competitive part until retiring from the race near the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain to stomach muscles and the greyhound was stood down for 21 days.
