Race 1 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE MDNPW 2 395m

1 Wild Torana – shifted outwards when leaving the back straight and collided with Four Fourteen, and tightening Big Bash Journey, resulting in Wild Torana to be checked and lose ground. Bumped with Little Miss Vane when rounding the home turn and was momentarily hampered. Stewards questioned trainer Paul Sutton on the actions of Wild Torana when rounding the turn out of the back straight. After reviewing the race replay, their own observations, and comments from Mr Sutton, the stewards could not be comfortably satisfied the greyhound had offended under any rule and gave it the benefit of doubt. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

2 Yogi's Shadow – clipped on the heels by Four Fourteen when leaving the back straight resulting in Yogi’s Shadow to check, then shift outwards on the turn losing ground, and was bumped again by Four Fourteen, losing further ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

3 Little Miss Vane – checked off heels through the first turn and lost ground. Raced wide when rounding the turn into the home straight and bumped with Wild Torana. Raced wide for most of the event. Stewards questioned trainer John Quarman on the actions of Little Miss Vane when rounding the turn into the home straight. After reviewing the race replay, their own observations, and comments from Mr Quarman, the stewards could not be comfortably satisfied the greyhound had offended under any rule and gave it the benefit of doubt. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Mr Quarman added the greyhound would be sent for a spell.

 

4 Alpha Cash – checked off heels through the first turn and lost ground.

 

5 Big Bash Jonesy – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground when rounding the turn out of the back straight.

 

6 Don't Test Me – slow to begin.

 

7 Four Fourteen – improved onto the heels of Yogi’s Shadow when leaving the back straight, checked, and lost ground, then shortly after collided with Wild Torana, which shifted outwards, resulting in Four Fourteen to check and lose ground.

 

8 Alpha Hope – slow to begin.

 

 

Race 2 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN 2 395m

1 Alpha Harmonia – tightened for room and checked at the start.

 

2 Rab Ruadh Jimmy – tightened for room at the start, checked, and lost ground. Bumped with Rosa’s Leugh shortly after the start, checked, and lost ground.

 

3 Daysea's Trish – shifted inwards at the start hampering other runners.

 

4 Rosa's Laugh – slow to begin. Bumped with Rab Ruadh Jimmy shortly after the start.

 

5 Special Edition

 

6 Lucky I Am – slow to begin. Bumped with Red Dirt Rob when rounding the turn out of the back straight and lost momentum.

 

8 Red Dirt Rob - Bumped with Lucky I Am when rounding the turn out of the back straight and lost momentum.

 

9 Shoe’s Lips – Bumped and lost ground when rounding the home turn.

 

 

Race 3 - SENNACHIE @ STUD - STEVE WHITE NOVICE (1) 2 395m

1 Saint's Gold – began awkwardly. Tightened for room through the first turn, checked out off heels and collided with other runners, and lost considerable ground.

 

2 Sleek Fury – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground through the first turn. Checked off heels when leaving the back straight.

 

3 Cherry Wine – momentarily hampered through the first turn and lost momentum. Tightened for room and lost momentum when rounding the turn out of the back straight.

 

4 Farmor Super Dry – permitted a weight variation of +1.2kg under the provisions of R39(2). Momentarily hampered through the first turn and lost momentum.

 

7 Rite Of Passage – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground through the first turn.

 

9 Rosdue Kaique – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground through the first turn.

 

 

Race 4 - ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND NOVICE (2) 2 395m

2 Solo Ripple – hampered through the first turn. Collided with You’re Kidding when entering the back straight, checked, and lost ground.

 

3 Slippery Mouse – hampered through the first turn.

 

4 Little Lacey – clipped on the heels and became momentarily unbalanced through the first turn.

 

5 Grace Is Suave – checked and lost ground through the first turn. Steadied and shifted outwards to avoid the heels of Alpha Strong when rounding the turn out of the back straight, became momentarily unbalanced, and lost ground.

 

6 Sea Daddy – declared a late scratching at 1.05pm when the greyhound was found to be more than the permitted weight variation of 1kg under rule 39(1). Last start weight was 32.4kg and weighed today at 33.6kg for a variation of 1.2kg. Trainer Brett Hazelgrove was fined $100 (R39(3)).

 

7 You're Kidding – checked and lost ground through the first turn. Collided with Solo Ripple when entering the back straight, checked, and lost ground. Checked off heels and lost considerable ground when rounding the home turn.

 

8 Alpha Strong – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground when leaving the back straight.

 

 

Race 5 - ORSON ALLEN @ STUD 5PW 2 395m

1 Kid Sunrise – slow to begin. Bumped with Myra’s Girl in the home straight. Checked off heels over the concluding stages.

 

3 Impatient Kid – tightened for room and hampered when leaving the back straight.

 

6 Zabal Chariot – checked off heels and lost ground when rounding the turn into the back straight.

 

7 Myra's Girl – tightened for room and hampered through the first turn. Bumped with Kid Sunrise in the home straight.

 

 

Race 6 - RHINO FINANCE GRADE 5 (1) 2 395m

2 Rosdue Rockette - checked and lost ground through the first turn.

 

3 Blazing Explorer – marginally slow to begin. Severely checked and lost ground through the first turn.

 

4 Farmor Millers - severely checked and lost ground through the first turn.

 

5 Aerobic Zone – tightened for room, checked, and lost considerable ground through the first turn.

 

7 Now Or Never – marginally slow to begin. Checked and lost ground through the first turn.

 

8 Some Idea – slow to begin.

 

 

Race 7 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE GRADE 5 3 520m

1 Quick Flick – slow to begin and raced awkwardly in the front straight.

 

4 Zulu Rapid – permitted a weight variation of -1.8kg under the provisions of R39(2).

 

7 My Movie Star – tightened for room, hampered, and lost momentum when entering the first turn.

 

8 Patched – stewards acceded to a request from trainer Kevin Ellis for the greyhound to temporarily have strapping applied to the near hind track leg. Slow to begin. Improved onto heels when entering the first turn, checked, and fell taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

 

Race 8 - FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE MIXED 3/4 2 395m

1 Special Bill – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground through the first turn.

 

2 Bonus Only – tightened for room and hampered through the first turn.

 

3 Ruby's Me Mum – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground through the first turn.

 

4 Fernando Bee – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground through the first turn.

 

10 Cousin Niall – tightened for room and hampered through the first turn. Bumped when leaving the back straight and took severely awkward strides when rounding the turn and lost ground for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. When questioned on the performance, trainer Andrew Clarke commented that the greyhound has been trialling well recently behind a drag lure at Lawnton and will look to assess its future nominations after it competes at Capalaba this coming Sunday.

 

 

Race 9 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY GRADE 5 (2) 2 395m

2 Ringbark Road – tightened for room and hampered when leaving the back straight. Shortly after was checked, took several awkward strides, and took no further part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards questioned trainer Brett Hazelgrove on the performance of the greyhound when leaving the back straight. After considering all available evidence, Stewards penalised the greyhound under rule 69A for Failing to Pursue for a first offence. The greyhound is now stood down from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing.

 

3 Waikarie Tori – tightened for room, checked, and lost ground when rounding the turn out of the back straight.

 

4 Blue Bird Beach – tightened for room when rounding the turn out of the back straight, then turn its head outwards and made muzzle contact with On The Bayou, resulting in Blue Bird Beach to be checked and lose ground. Stewards questioned trainer John Dart on the performance of the greyhound when rounding the turn out of the back straight. After considering all available evidence, Stewards penalised the greyhound under rule 69 for Marring for a first offence. The greyhound is now stood down from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing.

 

5 On The Bayou – slow to begin. Bumped and became momentarily unbalanced when leaving the back straight.

 

8 Hopeful Nan – slow to begin. Bumped and lost ground when rounding the turn into the home straight.

 

9 Jake’s Boy – raced wide for most of the event.

 

 

Race 10 - TAB - LONG MAY WE PLAY GRADE 5 (3) 2 395m

9 Shian Ziva – checked off heels, shifted outwards, and lost ground when rounding the turn out of the back straight.

3 Stand In Mail – checked and lost ground through the first turn.

 

5 Silver Sandals – checked and lost ground through the first turn.

 

6 Sparkling Melba – slow to begin. Checked and lost ground through the first turn.

 

7 Lilly Street – permitted a weight variation of +1.6kg under the provisions of R39(2).

9 Adelina – checked off heels after being tightened for room when rounding the home turn and lost ground.

4 Alpha Mania – momentarily hampered after being bumped when leaving the back straight.

 

6 Socks Sure Can – momentarily hampered after being bumped when leaving the back straight.

 

7 Next Thursday – slow to begin.

 

8 Peter Talks – declared a late scratching at 12:44pm under veterinary advice when the greyhound was presented prior to kennelling and found to have a bruise to the near hind leg and the greyhound was issued a 10 day stand down.
