Weather: Fine (downgraded retrospectively to Slow for Race 11 and Race 12)

General: G Crisci retrieved the incorrect greyhound from the kennels prior to Race 6 when in fact he should have retrieved Barcelona Cyndie from the kennels. Stewards found that G Crisci acted negligently pursuant to GAR86(o) in that he removed the incorrect greyhound from the kennels prior to Race 6 and imposed a $100.00 fine. As part of the inquiry, Stewards addressed the matter with club officials in relation to ensuring the correct greyhounds are retrieved prior to racing. 

The track was inspected by Stewards prior to the running of Race 12 due to the heavy rain and was cleared to race.

RACE 1 - SUPERIOR PLUMBING BRISBANE GRADE 4 520M

2 Dynamite Cyndie – Checked rounding the home turn and was marred by another runner.

3 Magical Hope – Checked rounding the first turn.

4 Sunshine Delight – Checked rounding the first turn.

6 Hopeful Lana – Checked after the start.

7 Feel The Beat – Checked rounding the home turn.

8 Dynamic Bill – Shifted in and turned its head taking its attention away from the lure and making muzzle contact with another runner rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Stewards spoke to trainer representative T Elson regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Stewards found that Dynamic Bill marred another greyhound during the event pursuant to GAR 69(1) with this being the greyhound’s first offence. Stewards subsequently suspended the greyhound for twenty-eight (28) days at Albion Park pursuant to GAR69(2)(a) and until the completion of a satisfactory trial prior to racing again.

RACE 2 - G2 SYSTEMS-PSD STAKE GRADE 5 (1) 600M

3 Davey Fawner – Checked rounding the first turn.

4 Bohemian Chariot – Checked turning into the back straight.

6 Jimary Dynamite – Severely checked rounding the first turn.

8 Street Cry – Late scratching at 4:05pm due to transport difficulties.

RACE 3 - THE BIG G ABEL SPECIAL GRADE 5 (2) 600M

2 Zipping Bambi – Severely checked in the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to its near side pin and was stood down from racing for seven (7) days.

3 Hellacious – Checked in the front straight. Checked leaving the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

4 Squisito – Checked rounding the first turn. Collided with another runner in the front straight.

5 French Beauty – Checked leaving the back straight.

6 Storm Away – Checked rounding the first turn. Collided with another runner in the front straight.

RACE 4 - SCRATCHLESS GLASS CHRISTMAS STOCKING HEAT 1 GRADE 5 520M

3 Barefoot Flynn – Slow to begin.

4 Our Boy Mae – Checked rounding the first turn. Collided with another runner racing through the first turn.

6 My Psychiatrist – Checked rounding the first turn.

8 Rowdy Roddy – Slow to begin. Collided with another runner racing through the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to its off hind limb and was stood down from racing for ten (10) days.

RACE 5 - CITY AUTO REPAIR SERVICE BEST 8 520M

1 Limited Edition – Bumped another runner rounding the home turn. Fell after the finish line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained a neck strain and was stood down from racing for seven (7) days.

2 Paw It On – Slow to begin. Checked in the front straight.

3 Spotted Elk – Bumped another runner rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to its near side pin and was stood down from racing for seven (7) days.

6 Tiger Town – Slow to begin. Checked in the front straight.

RACE 6 - ORSON ALLEN @ STUD BOGIE LEIGH FUTURITY (G2) FINAL OPEN 520M

5 Dulceria – Tightened in the front straight. Checked rounding the home turn.

6 Spring Kono – Slow to begin. Checked rounding the home turn.

7 Don't Tell Lies – Tightened in the front straight. Checked leaving the back straight.

RACE 7 - TAB MIDDLE DISTANCE CHALLENGE FINAL OPEN 600M

2 Aston Turbine – Slow to begin. Checked rounding the first turn. Checked in the turn out of the front straight.

3 Brockie Magic – Checked in the turn out of the front straight.

4 Perfect Freeze – Checked rounding the home turn.

5 Cash View – Slow to begin. Checked rounding the first turn. Checked rounding the home turn. Raced wide in the home straight.

6 Oxley Surround – Checked rounding the home turn.

8 See Them Try – Bumped leaving the front straight. Raced wide in the back straight.

9 (7) Big Boy Benji – Slow to begin.

RACE 8 - SENNACHIE @ STUD QUEENSLAND DERBY (G2) FINAL OPEN 520M

1 Cincinnati Bill – Slow to begin. Checked approaching the first turn.

3 Fernando Grand – Slow to begin. Checked leaving the back straight.

4 Strategise – Checked rounding the first turn. Checked leaving the back straight.

6 In No Rush – Slow to begin. Contacted the running rail leaving the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained and injury to its near hind limb and bruising to its hip support and was stood down from racing for ten (10) days.

RACE 9 - FIRST GRADE GROUP CHRISTMAS STOCKING HEAT 2 GRADE 5 520M

3 Mumma's Machine – Tightened over the concluding stages.

5 Wynnum Star – Checked in the front straight. Checked in the back straight. Checked leaving the back straight.

8 Zipping Rafferty – Checked leaving the back straight.

RACE 10 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE CHRISTMAS STOCKING HEAT 3 GRADE 5 520M

1 Savannah Bronze – Checked approaching the first turn. Bumped rounding the home turn.

2 Horsburgh – Bumped after the start.

4 Fernando Travis – Checked after the start. Checked leaving the back straight.

7 Action Now – Bumped on the home turn.

RACE 11 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MA5 (1) 520M

4 Regas – Bumped rounding the first turn.

5 Minnie Jojo – Slow to begin. Bumped rounding the first turn. Faltered in its stride and failed to finish the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an off side hock injury and was stood down for twelve (12) weeks. The greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing next. Trainer R Attard advised Stewards that he will take the greyhound to the North Lakes Veterinary Hospital for further assessment and treatment under Dr Jason Beck. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Racing Injury Review Panel.

6 Love Game - Late scratching at 9:46pm on veterinary advice (seasonal). The greyhound was stood down for twenty-eight (28) days.

RACE 12 - TAB - LONG MAY WE PLAY MA5 (2) 520M

6 Key West – Checked after the start.

8 Dynamo Waz – Late scratching at 10:05pm on veterinary advice due to kennel stress. The greyhound was stood down for seven (7) days.
