Race 1 - TAB - LONG MAY WE PLAY MAIDEN 520m

 

2 Angry Angie – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

 

3 Daysea's Mickey – Bumped with another runner shortly after the start.

 

5 Jimary Everest – Slow to begin. Bumped with another runner shortly after the start.

 

 

Race 2 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN FINAL MAIDEN 395m

 

2 All Natural – Turned its head inwards in the home straight and made muzzle contact with another runner to the inside on several occasions. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer’s representative Michael Zammit regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Subsequently, Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 123 charged All Natural with marring (1st offence) and was stood down from racing at Albion Park for 28 days plus the completion of a satisfactory trial prior to future nomination.

 

4 Shapur – Marred by another runner in the home straight.

 

5 Lingonberry – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight.

 

10 Suzie Knows (3) – Slow to begin. Looked awkward in its action and ran wide approaching the home turn losing a significant amount of ground and finished the race a distant last. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Kevin Kemp regarding the greyhound’s performance and in particular Suzie Knows actions approaching the home turn. Mr Kemp explained that the greyhound had a former pin-muscle injury that he was only informed of by the previous trainer after tonight’s run. Mr K Kemp also stated that had he known this information, he would have only run the greyhound down the straight track and not around a circle track. However, Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR129 deemed the run of Suzie Knows as unsatisfactory and the greyhound will be required to perform a satisfactory trial prior to future nomination.

 

 

Race 3 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE NOVICE 520m

 

1 Sonic Wheels – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

 

2 Born Ruby – Shifted out and bumped with another runner rounding the first turn.

 

5 Hurricane’s Fury – Bumped by another runner and forced to race wide through the first turn. Checked across the heels of another runner rounding the home turn.

 

 

Race 4 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 4/5 331m

 

2 Gogo Gidget – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

 

3 Getaway Gherkin – Tightened for racing room shortly after the start and was checked losing ground.

 

4 Leaping Lucille – Slow to begin.

 

5 He's Smoking – Tightened for racing room approaching the home turn and was checked losing ground.

 

8 Hero For Her – Slow to begin.

 

 

Race 5 - SENNACHIE @ STUD - STEVE WHITE R5 600m

 

3 Jimary Willow – Checked across the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight. Shifted out and bumped with another runner rounding the home turn.

 

4 She's Precocious – Tightened for racing room approaching the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

7 Hara's Reign – Tightened for racing room approaching the finishing line and was checked. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury that revealed an injury to the off fore toe and was stood down from racing for 28 days. Hara’s Reign will need to trial prior to racing next. The greyhound was administered pain relief and bandaged by the on-course veterinarian. Trainer’s representative Jemma Daley will take Hara’s Reign to North Lakes Veterinary Clinic for further treatment and assessment tonight. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel.

 

8 Cincinnati Hope – Bumped by another runner rounding the home turn and became momentarily unbalanced.

 

 

Race 6 - ORSON ALLEN @ METICULOUS LODGE NMW (1) 520m

 

4 Springtime Son – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

 

7 Samson Brockie – Raced wide through the home turn.

 

 

Race 7 - NEWHAVEN STUD FARM NMW (2) 520m

 

2 Springtime Storm – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

 

4 Hurricane Ashy – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

 

5 Rockstar Cooper – Slow to begin. Tightened for racing room approaching the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

6 Rosie Love – Dragged down by another runner approaching the first turn and lost ground.

 

7 Samson's Delilah – Improved onto the heels of another runner approaching the first turn.

 

 

Race 8 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 520m

 

4 Springtime Rose – Bumped with another runner several times in the back straight.

 

6 Matt Chew Man – Dragged down by another runner approaching the first turn. Shifted out and bumped with another runner several times in the back straight and lost forward momentum. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the nearside pin-muscle and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

7 Protagonist – Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the first turn and lost ground.

 

8 Ripple Reign – Began slowly. Raced for only a few strides before turning back around to the starting boxes, failing to complete the course. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Michael Lalicz regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at box rise. Mr Lalicz explained that the greyhound’s racing actions were completely out of character for her and that in her previous race starts she had placed 9 of 10 times. After reviewing the video footage of the race, Mr Lalicz explained that his runner was slow to begin from box 8 and as a result may have lost sight of the lure from the outside draw. However, Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 124(1) charged Ripple Reign with Failing to Pursue (1st offence) and was stood down from racing at Albion Park for 28 days plus the completion of a satisfactory trial.

 

 

Race 9 - TIGGERLONG TONK @ STUD MIXED 3/4 520m

 

5 Action Now – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

 

7 Ando's A Thief – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn.

 

8 Rowdy Roddy – Raced wide through the home turn.

 

 

Race 10 - HOUDINI BOY @ NEWHAVEN STUD FARM GRADE 5 520m

 

3 Rocky Lorry – Checked off the heels of another runner leaving the first turn. Bumped with another runner several times approaching the home turn and was checked losing ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

8 Mumma's Machine – Forced to race wide through the first turn. Bumped with another runner several times approaching the home turn.

 

 

Race 11 - ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB MIXED 3/4 395m

 

1 Remember Col – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

2 Oodles Of Noodle – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight and lost considerable ground.

 

3 Building Success – Dragged down by another runner leaving the turn off the back straight and was checked losing ground.

 

4 Mumma's Girl – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

8 Kentucky Showman – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn. Improved onto the heels of another runner approaching the home turn and was severely checked losing considerable ground.
