General: Stewards inquired into an incident that occurred in the female toilet block prior to the running of Race 1 at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club on 28 June 2023. Evidence was heard from licensed participants Ms Nicole Connell and Ms Tammy Hancock. After considering all the evidence, Stewards issued a charge pursuant to GAR156(f)(ii). The specifics of the charge being that Ms Nicole Connell did engage in behaviour which, in the opinion of the Stewards, constituted misconduct in that she used offensive language directed to licensed participant Ms Tammy Hancock. Ms Connell entered a plea of guilty and Stewards subsequently imposed a fine of $200.00. Ms Connell was advised of her right to an appeal via the Racing Appeals Panel.

Race 1 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN FINAL MAIDEN 2 395m

2 Indian Heat – Slow to begin.

3 Rushing Back – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn. Dragged down by another runner in the back straight and lost considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormities.

4 Zipping Burger – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

7 Bow Street – Slow to begin. Forced to race wide rounding the turn off the back straight.

8 Master Titan – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight and lost ground.

10 Hazy Range (1) – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

Race 2 - MICK BYRNE MEMORIAL (L) HEAT 1 NOV/M 1 520m

2 Tagovailoa – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

4 Velocity Shar – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start and lost ground.

6 Magical Gunn – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

Race 3 - MICK BYRNE MEMORIAL (L) HEAT 2 NOV/M 1 520m

4 Bantam Magic – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight.

7 Moreton Magic – Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the home turn and lost ground.

8 Old Mate – Took several awkward strides and raced wide rounding the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 4 - MICK BYRNE MEMORIAL (L) HEAT 3 NOV/M 1 520m

1 Pocket Picker – Took an awkward stride at box rise and as a result was slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the home turn.

4 Keep Tracking – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 5 - MICK BYRNE MEMORIAL (L) HEAT 4 NOV/M 1 520m

3 Gleaming Gunn – Slow to begin. Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the nearside wrist and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

4 Keeper's Heart – Dragged down by another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

6 Lightning Buzz – Slow to begin.

7 Bye Bye Billy – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

8 Letho Land – Checked off the heels of another runner and forced to race wide rounding the first turn.

Race 6 - TAB CARNIVAL MASTERS (L) HEAT 1 MA5 1 520m

1 Long Black Lass – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight and lost ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the offside elbow and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

2 Human Touch – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight and lost ground.

Race 7 - TAB CARNIVAL MASTERS (L) HEAT 2 MA5 1 520m

2 Dixie Kath – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground. Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight.

4 Japanese Black – Checked off the heels of another runner and raced wide rounding the first turn.

5 Ultimate Coat – Slow to begin.

7 Let's Go Rhyno – Checked off the heels of another runner and raced wide rounding the first turn.

8 Call Me Buster – Slow to begin.

Race 8 - TAB CARNIVAL MASTERS (L) HEAT 3 MA5 1 520m

2 Mia Magic – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

7 Springview Magic – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 9 - TAB CARNIVAL MASTERS (L) HEAT 4 MA5 1 520m

3 Umagico – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

7 Soda Fizz – Took the first turn awkwardly and commenced to weaken losing considerable ground taking no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the near-hind back muscle and was stood down from racing for 60 days. Soda Fizz will be required to pass a satisfactory solo trial prior to racing next. Trainer Mr John Catton advised Stewards that it’s his intention to retire the greyhound after tonight’s race.

Race 10 - TAB CARNIVAL MASTERS (L) HEAT 5 MA5 1 520m

1 Lochinvar Jazz – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

5 Key West – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the first turn.

6 Lagoon Alaska – Slow to begin.

8 Hara's Betty – Slow to begin.

Race 11 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 2 395m

2 Cool Rumours – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight.

5 Hard Castle – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight and lost ground.

7 Atomic Hope – Dragged down by another runner in the back straight and was severely checked losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

10 Viking Rio (6) – Slow to begin.

Race 12 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 3/4 2 395m

1 Flawless Scottie – Dragged down by another runner rounding the turn off the back straight and was severely checked losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

6 Pleasure Cruise – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

7 Jax Bale – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the turn off the back straight and lost ground.
