6. Set The Stage – Entering the back straight momentarily eased, into the back turn eased and turned head outwards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer R Hazelgrove regarding the greyhound’s actions at both those stages of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Hazelgrove, stewards deemed Set The Stage had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Set The Stage was suspended from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial. |
