Stewards interviewed licenced trainer Janene Armstrong in relation to the weight variations and overall condition of the presented greyhounds Vernan Park and Red Burner, also hearing evidence from the on-track veterinarian Dr Robert Geisel. A Stewards order was placed on Ms Armstrong and the matter was adjourned to a later date.

Race 2 - TAB - VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 2 395m

5 Mustang Hayze- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.

Race 3 - ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 3 MAIDEN 2 395m

No significant racing incidents.

Race 4 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE 2 395m

No significant racing incidents.

Race 5 - TIGGERLONG TONK @ STUD 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 2 395m

1 Laughing Les- Beaton favourite. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Stewards spoke to the trainer Mr Sidney Goodwin as some significant betting fluctuations were noted by Stewards. The comments of Mr Goodwin were noted and a sample was taken for analysis.

Race 6 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 2 395m

3 Keep On Running- Checked in back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings.

7 Red Burner- Late scratching at 12.23pm due to weight variation (GAR 101(1). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Janene Armstrong was fined $100 acting under GAR 101(3)(b)

Race 7 - SENNACHIE @ STUD - STEVE WHITE GRADE 5 3 520m

6 Mad Machine- Commenced to weaken rounding the turn into the back straight and retired from the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside wrist and was stood down from racing for 21 days.

Race 8 - ORSON ALLEN @ METICULOUS LODGE OPEN FINAL OPEN 1 395m

3 Magical Cyndie- Late scratching at 12.56pm due to weight variation (GAR 101(1). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Cyndie Elson was fined $100 acting under GAR 101(3)(b)

6 Slick Town- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainers requested which revealed an injury to the near hind foot and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

Race 9 - HOUDINI BOY @ NEWHAVEN STUD 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 2 395m

4 Vernan Park- Late scratching at 12.31pm due to weight variation (GAR 101(1). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Janene Armstrong was fined $100 acting under GAR 101(3)(b)

Race 10 - NEWHAVEN STUD FARM 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 GRADE 5 2 395m

6 Pronouns- Severely checked entering the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.

8 Lorna’s Creek- Severely checked and fell entering the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside wrist and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

Race 11 - CARINA LEAGUES CLUB 5TH GRADE HEAT 5 GRADE 5 2 395m

6 Mallanganee Miss- Severely checked and fell entering the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
